They call me daily claiming I have had a complaint about my social security number and committing fraud. . I too looked at getting a payday loan, but only got one and paid it back. It seems all my perusing, however, caused these clowns to try to bilk me for money. They call me at work and at home daily. How do I make them stop? I yell at them at tell them to F off. However, I work at a church, so I cannot do the same at work.

SCAM, guy from India says i owe for a payday loan......I've never used a payday loan service.

If they call tell them they are commuting wire fraud and if they call again they will be prosecuted. The other alternative is to prank them when they call.

caller was harassing me about a case against me about a payday loan. called me over 9 times, and the last number was a 5 digit number asking me when and how i am supposed to solve this case. they claimed back in april that they was going to come to my employer and take me to jail if i didnt agree to pay the loan back. i knew that they was lying because i know what loans i have and what bills i owe.

Just received a call from this number , the guy was obviously arab but he calls himself "officer" John smith . Claims I owe money and has all my info. This is clearly a scam. Seen this in the news a few weeks ago. I hope the FBI gets these guys trying to steal our hard earned money.

This number just called my son and threatened him -- the guy said his name was Mike Dawson and that he was an attorney in New York.  He told my son that he owed money for student loans and was wanted for check fraud.  Well my son has never had a student loan but the guy still proceeded to scare him and tell him that he better be in court in New York in 21 days or he would be sitting in jail.  My son asked for proof of the debt and the guy said that he did not have to provide it.  The guy tried to get money out of him and my son told him that he was going to call me because I work for attorneys.  Obviously a scam.  I am going to call the guy and put the fear of God in him!!  The scary thing is that they have all of my son's information including social, date of birth, etc.

Same here, recieved numerous phone calls and voice mails from an arabic male stating his name as officer steve...or officer joe...this is a TOTAL SCAM! do NOT give this person and type of payment. they usually already know all of your information...its probably in your best interest to make a police report.

This is a scam caller.  Claims I owe money for not paying back a payday loan.  Attempted to get a payday loan online last year, however decided against it when all I recieved was a full email box and tons of 'wild goose chase' sites that 'direct you to the cheapest rates' and never do anything for you but destribute your information. These people do not call you first, but take the information you provided to the loan company and call all of the people you listed as references first, and call your employer as listed on the application.  Now I've gotten a couple of calls from this number and all my references are calling me telling me to make them go away.  

The scam is that they have all of your information, and read it back to you to try to make you believe that you owe them money and that they will be taking you to court and that you face jail time and yadda yadda yadda...  DO NOT PAY!!!  THIS IS A SCAM!  They use American names like Steve Foster and Jim Anderson but can barely speak English and speak in such heavy accents they're nearly unintelligible anyway!  Don't buy into this!  Report it to any law enforcement agency you can.
