This man keeps calling my office, he changes his name each time but his message is the same.  Pay X amount of money with a Money Pak from Radio Shack or be arrested.  I've told him not to call my office but he continues to do so.  How do I get him to STOP????

This man called saying he was Ronnie Wilson and I was going to be arrested. He tried to verify the last four numbers of my social and I told him not a chance he was going to get that information. I asked for an address he said it was David Hernandez Law Office, 26 Court, Brooklyn, NY

These people have been harrassing me for over two years. Please don't give them any information. They have called my family and threatened to call my mother who is recently deceased.

He has a heavy indian accent and he always tells us he will have us arrested and good luck to us. so I hope no one is letting this weirdo have any information. This guy that claims to go by the name of John Mayer, insisted that I had a past due payday loan and if I did not make a minimum payment of $300.00 by 2 pm I was going to be served and picked up by the county sheriff. .  Said that I needed to make payment by purchasing a money pak at walgreens, 7-11 , or another business. He could hardly pronounce US Cash services let alone John Mayer. MY dad came all the way from Idaho to help me resolve this and came real close to being the victim..

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

These people are really something they keep calling my employment and threatening criminal lawsuit and saying that they are lawyers and such my boss even told them I was fired and they are still calling nothing stops them. Someone please tell me what will make them stop. And how do they get your employers numbers in the first p;ace???

This is like extortion dressed as debt collection. The agents' horrid threats are empty and their conduct is illegal. As early as possible it's critical to determine if your collector is domestic or yet another South Asian faker. The former you can sue into submission; the latter tend to be out of reach.

Same call on my work phone for the last 3 days, he said he was downloading my information to the sheriffs office and i'd be picked up in the morning, well that was two days ago and nothing yet. I've been scammed before from these guys and it won't happen again!!!

This guy has been calling me non stop for weeks. He is calling my cell phone and my work. He told me that his name is Attorney John Mayer. And that the sheriffs office will be coming to my house to arrest me. Luckily I looked up his number and found  this site. When I called him back and told him that I knew he was a scam all he could say is oh. People really need to get a life.

My brother got this call today at work and on his cell phone, the guy said he was calling from the law office of David Thomas Hernandez and said that it was in regards to a payday loan that he never paid back and that he bounced a check with them. He knew the last four digits of his social, but would not confirm the address or any other information. Then I told him that I was a lawyer and he asked for a by number and he asked for mine then he got angry and said that he wasn't a lawyer but that he was calling on behalf of US Cash Services and then after going back and forth he changed his story again saying that he was now a sheriff to the nycpd. I continued to tell him that I know this is a scam and to stop calling, he hasn't called back yet, but all this just happened within the last few hours. I also knew this was a scam because my brother has no active checking acct so there is no way he could've written a bad check and he never had a loan. This guy should really get his facts straight before trying to scam someone. But this guy really needs to be stopped, they have been trying to lock this guy up for a while. So this is definitely a scam. I think he is the biggest P.O.S. that I have ever heard of. I agree with the person who said that he needs to get a real job.

just got a call at my work from (347) 903-8982. said his name is david thomas from the law office of david hernandez. said i needed to transfer $1,095.37 to them to cover an outstanding balance on a payday loan (which i don't have) from US CASH SERVICES. told me if i did not do this, officers would be here in the morning with a warrent for arrest.
this is a major scam. these people should be required to go out and get a real job and leave the working people alone.

Claims to be with the FBI on the first call at my job. Second call on my cell, they left a message claiming to be an attorney office calling about, " legal actions." How to I stop this? recieved call from 347-903-8982.  This is the same trend as all posted on here.  Indian accent, general statements, and knowledge like my social, address, etc.  Told caller to go ahead and serve me with warrant as we do not serve people by phone in the US.  I had this issue last year and filed with state of florida / my sheriff / and FTC.  The issue last year was related to a man in CA that started and business for loans and was provided information and sold it to India.  These people have called with phone and names claiming to be with lawyers / state officals.  The are calling from majic jack phones.  I called them back form the phone they called me from.  They did not answer.  I used a different phone and called back.  they answered.  I stated how can we make this so you don't call me any more.  they stated they would not.  I asked them to tell me who i was (i did give them my name) they said they had the caller ID... I explained that i did not call from my phone.  I told them I had been through this last year. filed with FTC / sheriff etc.  I told them I will keep calling them and busying their phone line if we could not come to a fix.  They looked up the number they called me at and told it to me.  and stated.  if you dont' call me i will not call you back.  we will see if this works..   (funny thing they answered "lawyers office").  good luck

This sorry sack keeps calling me say that I owe them $1,094.97. They've been calling me for almost a year. Still waiting to hear for the so call sheriffs department so they can hand me my warrant. This man called both of our cell numbers and claimed to be from an Attorney's office, I hung up on him and did not answer his next call.  I knew it was a scam right after I detected an indian accent, because a couple of weeks ago someone called me and said we owed some money and if we didn't pay it immediately the sheriff was going to arrest me and that I better have a lawyer.  Then they instructed me to go to Walmart and buy a Money pack, not a money order or cashier's check, only a money pack immediately and to scratch the number and called them with the number.  We almost fell for it because they really scared me at first but when we went to Walmart, luckily the person that helped us asked us if we knew the person this money was going to and we said no, and explain the situation and they said not to do it that it was a big scam.  I was so greatful to that person because I was almost ready to do it.  When the people called back my husband told them we knew it was a scam and not to bother us again.  That was about 2-3 weeks ago, and they had not called back until today.  Luckily now we know.
