Scam-artist texted me regarding an HP laptop I had on Craigslist. Started out his message with, "Hi this is Brandon Holland, am testing you regarding your..." My asking price was $275 and after he inquired about the functional status of the machine--legit sounding questions--he offered me $450 via PayPal and said it would include shipping. First red flag went up.
I decided to probe further, however, and countered with asking where the laptop was to be shipped, and also said $450 was way in excess of the asking price. He said it was going to his cousin out of the country. Red flag number 2 was up.
I was 99.9% sure it was a scammer, and decided to google the number, and it led me here. My suspicions are confirmed. I told him I felt it was a scam and told him no deal.

Same guy contacted me via text after I posted a PS3 for sale. Also offered to pay more via Paypal and I immediately knew there was something fishy about him. So I told him I'd accept only if we did transaction through Escrow.com so that we can both be protected and insisted that he was a safe buyer and that I should trust him. After I made myself clear about no deal unless we did the transaction my way he left me alone.
Do not trust this number he obviously lingers around Craigslist finding sellers who are not aware of how unsecure Paypal is. What he will do is offer more than what you are asking for which is more enticing then he'll send you a fake Paypal confirmation that says your funds will show up after you have shipped the item, if you do it will be too late as you will never receive that money and Paypal will not have any record of any such transaction.
Never use Paypal to receive money from people you do not know always use Escrow.com. Only use Paypal with people you do know.

this same number texted me trying to scam me out of a listing. wanted shipped... offered to pay extra....pay via paypal...
i told him to get a life and he sent back violent offensive text messages.

A-hole from this number text messaged me inquiring about a cell phone listed on Craigslist. Cant even speak english properly. Called them out on being a scammer and scum, and they stopped messaging.
