Received a call from these clowns lookinf for a loser I know. Tried the fake officer so and so, I asked them what agency they work for. Federal fraud division and collections they said. I asked what state they work out of, who is their agency head, what address is their federal building at, what their badge number is, who in congress is their oversite watch dog. I even asked who the vice president was and who is the secratery of sate. Nothing but Haji accents and threats, I ended the call with "every time you kiss your wife your tasting where my pe pe has been, enjoy the taste of my DNA".

this doesn't have anything to do with the phone company, these ppl get your info from a payday loan company wherein one time or the other money was borred and paided back but they scam your numbers, SSN, address the whole works, but i got news for their a***s, what someone has done to them was called back all day cause she said she had the time to do it, and they got real annoyed and never called here back.

I got a call today 8/30/10 from some guy asking to speak with me, but the minute he opened his mouth i got suspicious cause back in May 2 others called and i told them where the hell to go and get the frig off my flipping phone and how i was going to be arrested on Monday, mind you, it was on a thursday he called, so i stated why not today or tomorrow why monday, then he couldn't tell me how much money i owed according to them, so i said you are a stupid attorney that representing someone and don't know how much the person who you are suing owes.  I told him don't u ever @#@#()@^(@^*$(@*&#)(@ call back my number.   I send it to the FBI, the Attorney general's office and the local police.

First of all, if you ever receive a phone call from anyone that you can't understand hang up.  In this country, if someone (any company) was trying to collect a debt they wouldn't have some India speaking dope who can't speak english trying to call you. Secondly, any one from the Middle east does not have names that are to common  HELLO!!!.  Robert Lewis, Joe Louis, Jim Smith, all with nasty accents.  These clowns tried to get my daugher to believe they were going to arrest her.  Unfortunately, the only way they will stop is by not allowing them to have phone numbers to call bacK too in the first place.  Phone companies need to do a better job of checking who is requesting a phone number  in this country and then shutting them down when it's not legit.  Because a lot of US call centers are now located in India or overseas, it allows for this type of stupidity to occur.  If you did get a call, just keep telling the person on the phone you don't understand, please speak proper english, at least have fun with them while you have them on the phone.  Tell them that you already have a lawsuit against their company and the authorities with be stopping by tomorrow to give them english lessons.  If you don't want to do that, then just tell them to F*#@ OFF and hang up.

I saved the threatening and extremely harassing voicemail from a man with a thick Indian accent who contacted me regarding my sister's "outstanding" loan, stated that a civil lawsuit was filed against her and that i needed to call back and identify myself.  He told me his name was Officer Joe Lewis from "The Investigation Department" saying they received a complaint, and that my sister was the primary suspect of the case.  He then told my sister that she was going to be put behind bars.  Someone needs to stop these people!!!

This person has been calling me and making threats.

After reading the posts on this website, along with many others, I have come to the conclusion that these people are low lifed scum bags !!! The same "Officer Mark Whatever" threatened me as well. It is scary to think and actually here this person recite my personal information. My bank name, the last 4 digits of my SSN, drivers license number, etc. These scum bags must be caught, tried and convicted of attempted extortion, harrassment and any other charge that the court systems can justify !!! Contact the proper authorities as definied in a previous post. Best of luck to all of you and hopefully we can help the authorities put an end to this type of criminal activity.

I have now received 2 voice mails from Officer's Brian Smith & Anthony Rogers, both claiming to be with the "State Investigation Legal Dept.".  Both men had very strong Indian accents like others here have reported.  In both calls they stated, "This is a very serious legal matter against you and your name and social security # is under investigation. You are in serious legal trouble. If you fail to call me, then really you are in really serious trouble and I don't want that.  Don't disregard this message and DO return the call!"  I had to listen to the messages over and over to even get all of what they were saying.  On the 2nd call, you can clearly hear others there in the back ground saying that they are Officers as well so, they are obviously a large call center spewing the same crap to everyone they call.  This is terrible and they need to be stopped from this harassment.

I recently got a phone call from an officer Joe Louis. I knew something was up when he gave me that name, and he has an Indian accent.  I was given fax numbers to fax over a promisary note to say that I will be paying back a balance to a payday company I never borrowed from. They are giving me a list of charges that will be filed against me if I don't pay. I called information to get the address to this phone number and there is no address. The operator told me it could be a pay phone or a cell phone they are calling me on. So now I am going to report this situation to my local police so this will not happen to anyone else. Please be careful. Remember the # is 352-503-3896 and the person gave me the name of officer Joe Louis.

Scam alert: Bogus debt collectors

This scam isn't technically about credit cards, but it is scary enough to post a warning. The Better Business Bureau issued an alert today saying consumers across the country are getting phone calls from bogus debt collectors claiming default on a payday loan. Of course, the consumer needs to pay a large fee to avoid arrest -- as much as $1,000.
The caller poses as a lawyer, and may threaten extradition to face trial if the consumer doesn't pay up immediately.
What makes these calls alarming -- and perhaps convincing -- is that the perpetrators reference the consumer's personal information, such as the person's Social Security number, driver's license number, previous bank account numbers, home address -- even personal references.
"The amount of information they have is really troubling," says BBB spokeswoman Alison Southwick. She adds that the amount of data points to a possible security breach.
Spread the word to your friends and family: Don't give out personal or financial information to an unknown caller. Scammers can spoof Caller ID to display different numbers, so trust your instincts over technology.
The BBB offers these tips:
?    Ask the debt collector to provide official documentation which substantiates the debt.
?    Do not provide or confirm any bank account, credit card or other personal information over the phone until you have confirmed the legitimacy of the call.
?    File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission online if the caller is abusive, uses threats or otherwise violates federal telemarketing laws or the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
?    File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau online if you believe a debt collector is trying to scam you.

I got a call from Brian Smith ast night.When i started questioning him on who he worked for he had to put me on hold  Im goning to my local attorey general about this freak of nature today. he had all my information.including who my family and friends are. Threatened to take us all to jail. Said that thy would be whereever i am. there as no where i couldhide, and that when they caught me, i would go to prison and no one could save me..It was then i knew he was a fraud. I just hope wecan get them stopped before they really ruin someone life.I would venture to say since they have all my information i am screwed. Good luck to all who have dealt with these punks
