I just got a call yesterday to call 2062012606 and when I called it today a man claiming to be Calvin answered and hew told me I have a Grant waiting for 9849 dollars for me but I have no bank account so I couldn't do it if i wanted to try but I told my brother about it and he told me to look the number up on Google to see about scams and I found this and the guy also told me that it could also be done the western union and all I would have to pay is 180 dollars thank god I have some intelligence for this

Received five calls on June 21st.  Answered last one and asked who was calling and they said Department of Justice, Washington and hung up.  Have received calls from these number previously that I haven't answered.Depart

I got the call today and spoke with a Indian man or so he sounded to be. He told me I qualified for a $9000 grant due to never having filled for bankruptcy and for having never been charged with a crime. All I needed to do was give him either my bank account information or my debit card info. Ya right get real. I asked for his name and he said that it was Rob Marley lol then I asked for a number that I could call back and he wouldn't give me one. He then said that it's free money and that he will not force me to take it then he hung up. What I should have done was asked him to sing me the national anthem lol.

This a continuously calling scam.

In the recent past I had been receiving calls from a 00000 number. After a little research online I came up with enough information to realise that they were foreign scammers. I blocked that number and the calls started from a different number. Every hour on the hour I receive calls.  Naturally I keep blocking these numbers, I never answer. I have 6 of their numbers blocked thus far. These people also call my  childs phone, and he is also blocking these numbers. My question becomes, where are they getting our numbers from? I have no bills owing or in collections, and my child is not old enough to have a bill under my childs name. Neither of our phones are in our names. How did we end up in their loop.....and just how do we get out from this annoyance? HOw do we warn each other about different numbers so that hopefully people will just block the numbers before they open themselves up to harassment and further annoyance?

First, their using an auto-dialer which as I remember is illegal to use in the United States!  Second, you can only report them!

Had this number call me 10 times today 06/17/14 tenth time I finally decided to pick up, they claimed they were the grant office from DC & I jokingly stated,"So when did Washington DC move to India!?" & they hung up swearing! Made my day, gotta love it when you joke around with a scammer & they get all upset that you called their bluff!

No. Government does not release those numbers. The Indian scammers buy the information from the local grey market in personal information.  Sometimes they out and out buy it from on-line and other fly-by-night loan operations.  Sometimes they just buy it on the open market, for example from collection agencies or insurance companies.

My suspicion is that they have a lot of personal information on the people they target.   If a persons seems naive or seems to have been in financial trouble, or is a woman a single mother, elderly or a member of the immigrant company, that's who they'll call.  They are looking for easy marks.

So far as I know, there' s no way to trace where, exactly,  the calls are coming from.   Maybe NSA has the technology; I don't think anyone else has.   They are in India, that's all anyone really knows.  They spoof all their numbers.

Nothing the US government can do.  The scammers are located in India nd beyond the reach of US laws.   They are criminals who ignore law.  Indian government doesn't do much either.  

There's nothing an individual can do except spread the word about the scammers and advise people to block the calls.

Theses are Indian scammers.   They ignore US law.  They buy and sell information from various grey markets.   A lot of information is avialable from commerical vendors.   Sometimes they simply buy the information from various on-line outfits.

He was calling several times and harrassing voicemail......

I keep getting calls from this company every day. Everytime they call I tell them I am on the DNC list and I ask to be added to their list. I feel as though I am being harrassed.

I received a call from this number and I did not answer.  They left me a voice mail saying some pretty nasty things and telling me they were going to come to house and do stuff to me.  This is pretty scary as I am a single mother with 3 kids in my house.  How are these people getting our #'s?  What can we do about it?

Got 2 harassing phone calls today and several in the last two weeks.  Answered today and a lady with bad english said she was veronica and wanted to speak to my wife (I answered my wifes phone) and that she was my wifes friend.  When I asked my wife they hung up.  On the blocked list now.  To those who have said the FCC needs to crack down, who do you think let the cell phone numbers out to the chain callers?  Congress and the FCC released it

Caller told me to enjoy my last day on Earth. Called 3 times on the third call says he has my address and will send someone over to kill me.

That's exactly what they tell me this crap needs to stop!!!!
