I have dialed "1" after the recorded message and gotten a person maybe 6-8 times.  Calls lessened, but another call this morning.  I dialed "1," got a person, and  started to say, "I'd like to make a request," and she cut me off with, "Don't waste my time, all right?" and disconnected.

I'll try the FTC per suggestion below.

I received a call from a Michael Reed who said that he was with account services.  He told me that I may qualify for a lower interest rate on all of my credit cards as long as they weren't already at a lower balance transfer rate.  I asked him many questions and somehow I ended up giving him my credit card number, address, and the last 4 digits of my social security number.  He called my credit card company and let me know the current balance, next payment due, etc. and then said that all that he needed was the last three numbers on the back of my credit card.  Then I really started asking questions and he put me on the phone with his "supervisor who was going to explain everything" and she said that she couldn't let me know any more information until she was sure that it was me and to give her the three digit code.  The more questions that I asked, the angrier she seemed to get.  She gave me a website address to look up and it was only to verify if a company is in business or not and says nothing about what the company does.  When I told her that, she started talking to someone on her end of the phone about me!  I told her that I was going to have to ask my husband and she said that she would call me back in half an hour.  I never heard back from her.  The number on the caller ID was disconnected and the 1-800 # that was given to me was to a visa card company who said that I wasn't the first customer to call in with a story like that and that they were investigating it but that it definately had nothing to do with them!

I just called and reported this number as well.  I asked what company they were from and they said "Account Services - that's why we can service over 400 different kinds of accounts." I replied, "Yes, but what is the name of your company?"  She hung up at that point.  Must be a scam.

Me again. I called the FCC number that my phone carrier suggested, however that was a bad suggestion, b/c FCC doesn't handle these issues. The FCC told me to cal the FTC (with a T) 877-382-4357, which I did and reported the problem.

I suggest folks take the time to call the FTC. They told me that, the more calls they get the more they can look for patterns and find out who is making the calls.

Just to append my previous message, less than 1/2 hour after I got the call from the above 1-386-734-4250 scam robo call, another call came through while i was on the phone with AT&T. I did an auto-redial on the second number showing up on my caller Id (1-514-225-1551), and it was also a disconnected number. Coincidently, it had the same prefix (225) as the main number for the FCC, which AT&T suggested I call.

I've received many calls from these people. It's robocall that says they have trying to reach me and that this is their "last attempt" to offer to "lower my interest rate". They tell you to press 1 and then someone comes on the line.

The first couple of calls I tell them I'm on the Do Not Call list and they hang up. The next couple I ask for the company name and, again, they immediately hang up. A third or fourth time I told the guy that I was busy and asked if I could get his number and call back. He said "You get a D-minus for effort", then he hung up.

I did a redial on the number that was displayed on my caller ID but the message says "This number has been disconnected or is no longer in service"

Just started to receive this call.  Most likely auto warranty or credit line scam.
