They called and then hung up before saying anything. This is becoming too frequent.

Get a phone with call blocking, like a Panasonic KX-TG6423. I'll program my phone to block this number and I'll never hear from it again!

When calling this phone number back, 402-982-0592, it does not ring, there is no automated system, and no one is on the line.  Not sure what the point of this is.  It is coming from Omaha, Nebraska.  I googled what came up on caller ID, foreign exchange, and Omaha, Nebraska; this is what came up:: Associated Foreign Exchange 1941 Vinton Street, Omaha, NE 68108-1436 (402) 342-3654.  I called the phone number listed here and it went to a fax machine.  Per google maps, the building has white bars on the windows and doors, and it said "El Quetzal" on the building.  El Quetzal is a municipality in the San Marcos department of Guatemala.  It would be very interesting to find out exactly why they are calling phone numbers around the United States and how they got those phone numbers.

We asked those telemarketeer scumbags to stop calling us before, but they just ignore it-- even though we are on the DNCR. Their menu when you call them back, asks callers to opt out, but they ignore it: We've had to deal with those parasites before: please get us rid of them, or put them in shackles -- or better: hung on a public pole!!!

Call came from Omaha, Nebraska to Kansas at 18:59 hours CDT on 9-9-10 Call not answered and no message left. Caller ID said "Foreign Exchange". Other sites identify the caller as a company trying to develope foreign exchange students. Yeah, right.

Actually you are wrong RC. there IS a way for ANYONE to get your SSN and it is perfectly legal. There is a web site which for obvious reasons I won't list here, where simply by supplying a person's name and address, paying a $49 fee, and esigning that you are not going to use it for illegal purposes, they will sell you their SSN number. And if you think it is hard to get other personal info, go to spokeo.com and type in a person's name, phone number or email address and see what comes up. I know all these things as I sell the world's best ID theft restoration plan. If anyone wants any more info email me at smarthealthplan@gmail.com. BTW this number tried to call me today and did not leave a message.

How tragic it is that neither you nor the recorded voice has any idea what the name of the company you work for is. It must be tough to cash paychecks.

Is there a company that makes the machines or builds the software that places the calls?  I'm not big on gov't regulation but if name of the manufacturer was made public we could "deal" with the problem.  Oh please identify the cause as Cisco... the most evil corporation on the planet....

So you want me to believe that you place foreign high school students in the US by making thousands of random robo-calls from either an unlisted telephone number or are spoofing caller ID.  Unless you the "Associated Foreign Exchange" at 1941 Vinton St, Omaha, NE, 68108, which is a foreign currency exchange in a Omaha barrio, you are not publishing your location.  It's the only "Foreign Exchange" that is identifying itself in or near Omaha.  You claim to be involved with students, why are you hiding your identity?  No listed telephone number, no registered organization, no Web page = fraud.

I know from personal experience that student exchange programs have built networks of local community support  and work closely and openly with local school districts to insure protection and support to both the students and to their host families.  Making unsolicited robo-calls to place minors is criminally inept, but more than likely a scam.

I would caution other readers that if you return a call to telemarketer's displayed caller ID number, and it is a nonworking number, that the call actually originated from an internet telephone and the caller ID is fraudulent, it's called spoofing called ID, it's illegal in many cases and there is current federal legislation to totally ban it.   Legitimate telemarketers realize that people hate them and do provide a mechanism to opt out.

Yes, there are consequences to answering the calls. You can wind up getting big charges on your phone bill just from picking up the phone. I'm not sure how it works, but I know it's true.

Just received a call from this number ohn my home phone.    I checked the I.D. and it said foreign exchange so I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message.  I also get phone calls twice a day from Ozark Mountain Vacations 877-317-9128 on my cell phone for the past year and I have a special ring that tells me that it is them so I don't answer. I wish Sprint could block those calls
