June 22, approximately 4:55 p.m. EST.  As with Becky's report above, "There is an automated message saying it's calling from Google directory assistance, looking for the business owner.  The messages asks if you want your business information included in the google directory to press 1, and if not, to press 2."  My callerid shows ENVIRONMENT INC.  

I would suggest not pressing "1" or "2" as either is simply an acknowledgment that a human answers the phone.  

If you see a call from this number, I'd suggest not answering at all.  It's clearly got nothing to do with Google or any other reputable company.

If I have time, I will file a complaint with the FCC and donotcall.gov

Called my work and hung up when I answered with our company name.  I called back and got a recorded message.

I have received numerous calls from this number. I answered one time and they say this call is from the american people letting you know if you owe the irs back taxes there is help. They go on with a lot of other crap but I finally just hung up. They called back several times and don't leave a message but this time it was the same company. Everytime they call I press 1 to get my number off their list and they still call. I wonder if several companies are using the same number.

I received a call moments ago from a solicitor with an automated message about wireless home security and I was a winner.

Filing a Lawsuit Against Telemarketers

Consumers now have the right to sue a company in state courts in order to stop solicitation calls and/or receive monetary damages. By statute, you can receive up to $500 in damages per violation or, if the court finds that the company willfully or knowingly violated the new do-not-call regulations, up to $1500 in damages per violation. You could also receive actual monetary losses; the court has complete discretion in setting damage amounts for such cases.

If you want to take action against a company that continues to call you, make sure you have evidence to back up your claim. For example, send a certified letter, return receipt requested, demanding to be placed on the "do not call" list. Keep a copy of the letter and the return receipt as proof. Also, keep a log of all calls.

If you are ready to sue a telemarketer, determine whether you can sue in small claims court. This can save time and money.

Listen, no matter how many times you call, I will not answer.  I simply erase the numbers off of my caller I.D.  My computer keeps a record of the calls and I give the list to the FCC.

I WILL NOT purchase any of the gadgets (more junk) to do what our government fails to do which is to stop these ignorant calls.  What in the heck is the "Do Not Call List" for anyway.

There are some people who are junk people and I consider this number and others coming from these people junk...  I do not deal with junk Americans.

Received call from number 402-982-0760. Someone - David Shwaery - has nothing to else do, just calling to people and doing other stuff to bother.

Caller: Environment, Inc. Different phone number and company name than my previous 2 calls from them but it is still the same recorded message for a free wireless security system. Have reported them to donotcall.gov 3 times but I guess there is not much they can do if they keep changing the company name and their phone number. I pressed 1 to connect to operator and she said she was adding my name to their do not call list.

RECEIVED CALL FROM 402-982-0760 ON MY CALLER ID.  ANSWERING MACHINE TOOK THE MESSAGE -- THEY JUST HUNG UP.

I am getting constantly harassed by this number despite being on the do not call list.  It is a total recording so impossible to talk to or ask questions, it just goes on and on and I am not even sure it is what it claims to be.

Got call at 9:38 AM today, Caller ID says ENVIRONMENT INC. Recorded message something about debt management (?). At end choice was 1 for person, 2 to remove number. I hit 2, but don't know if it "took" because of clicks, etc.

Just received a call from this number.  I did not answer it and let it go to voice mail.  The message was about a home security system.  Since the same number is for different services and you can;t call back, it might be a spoofed number.

Called and left voicemail, computerized message about having business added to Google's 411 directory.

This is the third such call in the last two weeks, all with different numbers from the same Nebraska area code.

These bastards keep calling me. Finally, picked up and no, answer they just hung up. It's definitely automated. I called back and they said to press 1 to be removed from the list. No other options. What if I want to hear about the "promotion". What gives, what are they doing, if they don't have a pitch and only want you to press 1 to confirm that it is a real number, so they can sell it to others??

This number calls my office at least once a day.  There is an automated message saying it's calling from Google directory assistance, looking for the business owner.  The messages asks if you want your business information included in the google directory to press 1, and if not, to press 2.  I ALWAYS press 2, and then it hangs up on you.  I'm tempted to press 1 just to see if I can get to a person and tell them to STOP CALLING!

There are various numbers from this area code who constantly calls.  It appears to be a fax machine or "something" from Environmental Inc., LocalTEL, Debt Reduction, Gold Services, and whatever else pops up from this area code.  There is NO way to contact these bogus number to have them STOP calling!  This number literally calls EVERY day, times per day!!!!  What are those of us getting harrassed by this number to do?  I should not have to change my phone # over this and who says that if I do, this will not happen again???  I already have an unlisted/unpublished # so how do they even get my # to call in the first place?

402-982-0760 called 9:34am. We work late and almost never answer calls at that time. Called back, but no answer. They left no message. I am guessing it was simply a harassment call, or, a call to see if we were home. Called ID stated Environment Inc, but there is no information on them I could find. That makes me wonder if they were even legitimate.

Just received this call at 3:45 PM. The caller ID- had Environment INC. I usually don't pick up, but did, because I thought it may be for my husband. They didn't say anything, so I hung up. It is probably a computer call. Now I will block the # on my wonderful Panasonic wireless phone. It blocks 30 #'s. The best investment, I ever made.

I'm not fooled by these scam artists. It's probably a spoofed number anyway, so trying to find out who they actually are would be difficult at best. They prey on unsuspecting people and play the law of averages. If they can steal the identity (and that's what they're up to) of 1% of the people they contact, they're happy. Don't EVER give these scumbags any information.

Report them to the Interstate Commerce Comission...and to the cognizant phone company to have their service disconnected.
