This one, 404-298-9842, came up as - not surprisingly - MLK Dr/Cascade Heights = south city of Atlanta/Fulton County, zip 30310.

Just more trashy thugs and crooks, looking to run a con and steal your money/identity.

This is Dekalb County and in our case the jail. Therefore, the previous info was extremely helpful.

The prior post is correct, it could be from any DeKalb Government Office. The person who called me works for the Sheriff and is a law enforcement officer. I work for another county office, where the number that shows on caller id is not a number that can be direct dialed.

Well, my cousin is in jail right now and I just got off the phone with him having called from this number.

Actually it is the dekalb county medical examiners office I'm an intern there so I would know.

Who is calling from this number without leaving a message. I believe I'm being harrassed.

The phone number (404) 298-9842 is for the DeKalb County Jail AND any office, including the Medical Examiner's Office that is within that same area. They are all run off the same phone tree and the caller id is programmed to display the "dummy" number that you all have seen. It is however, for those of us that work at one of these locations a FANTASTIC number to give out to pesky people/businesses in search of your phone number. :)

"Dekalb County Medical Examiner's Office," the poster just above, is full of s-h-i-t.  I know it's the Dekalb County Jail because my son was just put in there and had been calling me all night from other numbers.  Caller I.D. also says Dekalb County.

Do not be freaked out.  Nobody's dead.

This phone number that is calling is the Dekalb County Medical Examiner's Office, if you receive a call from it, it is someone from the office calling to notify you the results of an autopsy or to notify you of the death of a loved one.  It is not the Jail.

I too got this call 4/22/09 at 12:50 am which woke me up.  I will be turning my phone off every night now.  This is moronic that this can't be stopped.

I got a call this morning.  Very loud in the b/g, so no surpirse it's the jail.  Maybe it's ACORN trying ot get people to register.

They hung up as soon as I said hello.

This caller is a fake customer, who seems to be a member of the thugs who seem goal is to control positioning on google.
