If you ever request info online from a for-profit school or use a free resume building site, don't ever put your cell number down. If you've received a rash of numbers like this one, its because you submitted your number knowingly(without reading the fine print) to online companies that pay for the bulk of their revenue by selling your number to every unscrupulous for-profit online college scam out there. I got tired of the bot dialers wasting my minutes with blank voice mails, so I answer them every time and either put the phone back in my pocket or next to a car speaker blaring music. If you pick up, it gets transferred to a live scam operator. If they are going to waste my minutes regardless, mine as well waste their employees scamming time as well. Update: The majority of calls I receive like this one are from career institute. I humbly ask that everyone answer and respond with dead air. This is an aggressive scam that will not let up. Fight back.

Called on my cell. Put number into contact list then silenced ringer. Doesn't stop calls but makes it easier to ignore. Delete missed calls later.

They are calling from The Career Institute, which matches students with online degree programs. I called the number back, and that is what their greeting stated.

i assume they are hackers and trying to get something from people who would take it i reported them to the federal trade commision i as harassers
