I just had a guy named matt carlisle from KML Financial call me at my work and threaten me that I will be arrested at my job in the morning unless I pay him money owed from a payday loan. His call back number is 1-888-406-8622. I called and spoke to my county attorneys office and they advised me to call him back and tell him he needed to mail me paperwork about taking me to court and getting a warrent. I called him back and he was very rude and threatened me more.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>

I HAVE BEEN RECEIVING CALLS FROM 888-406-8622 FROM A WILL THAT SAYS HE IS FROM KML FINANCIAL.  I LOOKED IT UP AND IT SEEMS TO BE THE SAME PEOPLE THAT CALL FROM 404-975-4465.  THEY ARE VERY RUDE AND WHEN I ASKED THEM TO STOP CALLING MY PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT THEN JUST CONTINUE DOING THAT.  THEY NEED TO STOP BECAUSE ITS JUST A SCAM.

This company has horrible reviews with the BBB and also is being investigated with the Attorney General for scams and collecting deliquent debts from others who fell behind on their financial obligations and they have no rights to collect on these debts. They do not own these debts and collect them illegally.. Do not pay these people a dime as they do not report anything to the Credit Reporting Agencies and also do not care about you as a human being. This company is a small company and they work off cell phones and do not even have large offices. I am an ex employee and they suck and do not treat anyone with respect. What they do and how they do it is Illegal.

I recieved a phone call by a man claiming to be a dective from Indiana.  He said that my daughter wrote a bad check and that she was going to be arrested. She moved from there 4 years ago and at first he wanted $5000 after negotiating with him it was decided on $1315.  We were told to go to our bank and transfer it to Wellsfargo and had to be done in 45 mim.  I am a parapalegic and use a power chair and my husband has a heart problem.  I called Indiana and there was no dective by that name.  Then we found out that he was calling from Ga with the name of KMLL.  We now have an attorney and the Department of Justice in our state is also investigating.  It was all a SCAM and took our money.

He keeps calling my job asking to speak to hr and my manager.  He says that I will be arrested for defaulting on a payday loan.  When I ask him to send me proof of the loan that he is claiming that i took out, he refuses. He wont give an address. He just tells me that someone will be to my job to arrest me.
