So this lady called the house. Didn't ask for me but my step father then left a message with him that I had a warrant out for my arrest and they would be coming to my house. Well I called her back 3 minutes later and asked what legal department she was with, Either police or court of law. She hung up on me. So I called her back and told her she had accidentally hung up on me and to please tell me what legal entity she was with. That surely if she was going to serve a warrant that there would be some place for my lawyer to contact. She hung up again. So I called a 3rd time and she started yelling if I didn't stop calling her she was going to report that I was harassing her. I told her no I was just returning the phone call like she asked. She finally said "F*CK this job" and hung up on me yet again. Never did get what legal entity she was calling from but will call the phone company and report what happened and try to get the address for this phone. So I can file my own harassment charge.

Yes...they called me today with same "criminal charges", "got on camera", etc...even provided a case number, and the lady (black accent as well) identified herself as a "detective".

I have applied for online loans in the past so seems my information has been grabbed online somehow...soooo I fell the very 1st time they called, 4 yrs ago, and even started a "payment" plan, but luckily it still didnt smell right, so I consulted with a lawyer and then searched online about this ongoing scam. Of course, I stopped payments and told them to talk with my lawyer, and it immediately stopped.

The secret is to act cool and collected...as soon as you tell them you want them to fax you official papers of the charges or whatever, or mention you have a lawyer that deals with whatever financial issues, they hung up on you. They can be very very persistent...dont let that scare you...they scared the heck out of me 4 yrs ago and I lost $400 before I investigated further into the scam.
