I get a phone call from this company 3 times a day.  They never leave their number nor identify themselves.
I track the number through my phone company to see who called.  They leave a message stating, "our client has mad it necessary for us to receive your statement of intent to reduce further litigation.  Please press 1 to be directly transferred to your case manager."  The caller never states who the call is for. I don't even know if this is intended for me.  I hope by reporting this to get these annoying calls to stop completely.

404-996-0798  SCAM SCAM SCAM--- 12-04-2012....NOT REAL COMPANY.  DO NOT EVEN LISTEN TO THEM.  I keep getting this caller and I am not at home so the answering machine picks up and a recorded msg comes on saying they are National Mediation Group and that they are trying to collect a debt for a bounced charge from my checking account and that I owe them $25 for a NSF fee. First of all, I have not written any checks in two years, all my transactions have been through the bank processing and there is no way I have bounced any checks.  My bank would have definitely notified me of any discrepancies of any type and I have an account that if my checking goes low it automatically puts money into my checking acct so that nothing would ever bounce.  THESE PEOPLE ARE SCAM ARTISTS!!!  I have read other comments and it sounds like the same thing that these people are SCUM BUCKETS and trying to get money anyway they can.  I am retired and I think they must somehow get a list and call and call and call retired people to see if they by chance will get someone who might be scared to pay them what they are asking for.  DO NOT PAY THESE PEOPLE ANY MONEY.  DO NOT CALL THEM BACK EVER, EVER. ITS A GAME TO THEM. SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM,

These people continue to call me and leave the same threatening messages as other here have stated.  The one time I did talk to them they calimed it was a payday loan.  I asked for information concerning the loan.  they had my place of employment, my email, my name and reference phone numbers all wrong.  I asked them to send me the rginal paperwork which they promised to do.  Weeks have gone by and no paperwork, but still plenty of phone calls.  It may take legal action to stop them.

I have had  2 calls from this number as well.  The messages are extremely theatening, stating jail time and arrest unless called back within 24 hours.

As best as I can tell, these folks are from One Click Cash or Cash One, a pay day loan service.  They are not affiliated with any law enforcement agency or any other agency for that matter.   I have opted to contact an attorney that represents fraudelent companies such as this.

For all of you receiving a message containing the term "article 805.11" it does't exist! What they did is take some numbers, change them around and add the word "article"; in reality this all comes from the FDCPA, the laws that were set up over 30 years ago to protect consumers. Read below

Section 807(11) requires the debt collector to "disclose clearly in all communications made to collect a debt or to obtain information about a consumer, that the debt collector is attempting to collect a debt and that any information obtained will be used for that purpose," except where section 804 provides otherwise.
1. Oral communications. A debt collector must make the required disclosures in both oral and written communications.
2. Disclosure to consumers. When a debt collector contacts a consumer and clearly discloses that he is seeking payment of a debt, he need not state that all information will be used to collect a debt, since that should be apparent to the consumer. The debt collector need not repeat the required disclosure in subsequent contacts.
A debt collector may not send the consumer a note saying only "please call me right away" unless there has been prior contact between the parties and the collector is thus known to the consumer.
3. Disclosures to third parties. Except when seeking location information, the debt collector must state in the first communication with a third party that he is attempting to collect the debt and that information will be used for that purpose, but need not do so in subsequent communications with that party.

I received my first call from this fake company on friday, April 6th and got the same message about article 805.11. When I looked it up there was no info. on it. Not less than 30 minutes ago I received another call from them but this time I answered and immediately hung up to avoid their annoying message. I noticed I didn't start getting calls from this company until I received a call from a man stating he was from legal services and that he would be sending someone to my job to serve me with civil papers because i've been writing bad checks and other fraudulent banking acts. Has anyone else had this problem? The number I receive calls from is 646 558 1347.

These folks, well the automated dialer, has called me a couple of times now. Always the same message "This is the National Mediation Group, calling ..." citing Federal Article 805-11. Far as I can tell, there isn't a legitimate Federal Article 805-11; when I do a search for it, I get sites like this about fraudulent bill collectors. I've taken to ignoring them.

This group has also called me, threatening to send myself, & sometimes my sister, to jail by 4:30 pm if we don't send payment immediately.  Sometimes, they identify themselves as a collection agency, quoting the Federal law that gives them the authority to have a person arrested, other times they claim to be the actual law enforcement official holding the warrant for arrest.

First, I contacted the county they claimed to be from, confirming my suspicion that no law enforcement agency will EVER call ahead to warn you that they have a warrant for your arrest, or give you the chance to pay them to prevent from being arrested...they'd be risking your running away, or taking a bribe, potentially being caught by their superiors, ludicrous.

Second, it is illegal for any collection agency to threaten imprisonment.  I'm pretty sure they cannot threaten criminal charges, either.

Thirdly, this agency has represented itself under several different names {& spoofed numbers}, mostly NATIONAL MEDIATION GROUP, & DORSEY, THORNTON, ASSOCIATES; & 877-690-4915; 404 996-0798.  I believe there may be a legitimate National Mediation Group, but they did not start using this name until after they were unsuccessful with the phony attorney cover {Dorsey, Thornton}.

In many states, you are not required to pay a collection agency, paying the original creditor directly, instead.  The best course of action is to NEVER answer calls from numbers you aren't absolutely positive belong to a source you have chosen to deal with.  If you believe you have legitimate debts, contact the creditor directly, using only the written information you received when you opened the account, & make payment arrangements with them.  Also, report contact you've had from any source other than the original creditor.  If it is a scam, they have the power to contact the Attorney General to press charges against con artists using their name.

In addition, DO NOT PLAY with this type of caller.  It may appear that you're gaining some satisfaction from annoying them, but, trust me, they don't care, in fact, they love it.  It's shocking how much information they can gain, use, & sell to other fraudsters just through speaking with you via telephone; in many cases, just having your name, & phone number will give them the tools they need to attack your bank account directly, & to sell it to others to do the same.

Consumers across the country report that they're getting telephone calls from people trying to collect on loans the consumers never received or on loans they did receive but for amounts they do not owe. Others are receiving calls from people seeking to recover on loans consumers received but where the creditors never authorized the callers to collect for them. So what's the story?

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>
