I just googled this number and found this site, same thing just happened to me, what the hell is AA trooper????

They've called us too. We don't answer and they don't leave a message. We are also on the Do Not Call list

Sorry for the language, but i got a call from that number and was asked if I had a dildo... then if it vibrated, i said dildoes don't vibrate you moron....and hung up.

the caller id was aa trooper, and the phone number was 405-228-4099.

this number pops up all the time.  my number is unlisted AND unpublished, AND on the do not call list, so how is it still happening?!  I've never been home to answer when they called, and we don't have an answering machine.

It's the American Association of State Troopers...if you call the number back you get an automated messaged...to njames: I highly doubt they would be calling asking you about vibrating dildos.  It seems they are trying to raise money.  Sorry, just wanted to post some info that I found out about them since we were all in the same boat....

Got call about 10:30 am on Saturday. Caller ID showed AA TROOPERS. answered and got a beep and then a dead line. I hung up. About 10 seconds later my sister called. She said that she had just tried to call me and my line was busy! I have call waiting! How can these a$$holes make both of your lines busy? I wish the Feds, cops or someone would bust them and publicize it so others would know what was waiting for them. This is worse than stealing - they are blocking your phone line and you may be getting a life or death emergency call! I'm not paying for my phone service for their benefit! If they want to call and harass me then they need to pay my phone bill! This should be 100% illegal!

We have been harrassed by them for a long time and this is the last time. We are going to call up the County District Attorney and report them. They give real policemen (who risk their lives every time they go to work) a bad name!!!

This is a legitimate orginization and is legal to call in the state of oklahoma.  They use a dialer to call out so certain calls are abandoned and by law you are allowed to have a certain abondentment rate.  Don't ask how I know about this place, but lets just say that I wish that I didn't.  Yes they keep a portion of the money to cover fundrasing expenses, but the reason you get rude people when you talk or pick up is because of the pay that they give the people on the phone.The office is located out of Denton off of Dallas Dr in Denton.

Have gotten calls from this number twice now.  Fortunately, I have never been near the phone when they called.  They never leave a messege though.  I have gotten calls before State Troopers Associations and pledged donations and then received my sitcker and pledge envelope from them.  This is not the same group though.  I would never give a donation over the phone.

THEY CALLED ME, THAY ASK FOR $ 35, $ 20 AND IF YOU SAID NO INTERESTED, THEY SAY, $ 15 $ 10 OR EVEN $ 5 FOR SENDING YOU SOME STICKERS, AND THEN YOU NEED TO SEND THEM A CHECK OR M/O. I DO NOT THINK THEY ARE LIGIT

I contacted my local police department to report the call as a questionable scam.  The police officer that contacted me said the AA Troopers is the American Association of Troopers and it is a legitimate entity that does collect money for Troopers -- but Oklahoma is not represented as one of the states that gets the money from their collection.

called 3pm and when i picked up got a beep then nothing -- which i guess is better than having to listen to their "line" trying to scam me out of money.  Legitimate police/fire dept agencies DO NOT solicit via phone -- don't be scammed by these people.

My phone rang at about 9:30 last night, and the caller ID had AA Troopers along with the above phone #. I have been sent quite a number of prospective scams via phone and email in the past month or so, and not recognizing these dead-beats, I didn't answer. I don't have voice mail, so they couldn't leave a message. People like these are the reason I cancelled my voice mail in the first place.

These people are not ligit!!   If you ever talk to a real trooper, they will tell you they do not solicit donations over the phone.   Please beware and do not give them any personal information or money!!!

I didn't answer.  They called Sept 4 at 7:15pm but as I deleted my ID calls I became curious & pulled this up.  Now I am really glad I did not answer the call.

Approx 9:30am 9/05/07 AA Troopers called.  They had called yesterday evening and been told that we did not wish to make a donation.  They called again this morning, and as soon as I picked up, a young man said "I'm sorry, I have the wrong number."  

I reported the number since we are on the National Do Not Call list, although AA Troopers may be exempt from this through the loophole that allows some charities to call.  

Regardless, if they call again and I get a live voice on the phone, I'm going to disucss with them how I feel they are harassing me by continuing to call once I've told them NO.

I received a call from this same number at 8:54pm... I answered since we just moved and got a new number so I knew it wasn't a bill collector. LOL  Anywho... I answered and heard a beep and no one on the other end.  I live in the 405 area and my husband works for a local news station.  They have done countless stories on people calling for donations and the majority of the people they interview has fallen victim to this type of scam.  One piece of advice I can pass on is that NO Police or Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) or any agency in this capacity will ever call for donations and like SKIJ posted on 8-1-07, report the number to your local state agencies and FCC.  This has got to stop.

Got a call from this number at 8:52 p.m.  Just got a beep and then nothing.  Since I live in the 405 area code I decided to call the number back and got a recorded message.  It is a fund raising office for the "American Association for State Troopers" raising funds for the "trooper Brewster" campaign.  Don't know if they are ligit, don't care to know either because I need my money too much to give to anyone calling me over the phone.

Caller ID:  phone: 405-228-4099; after I said "Hello!" I heard a beep and a little talking in the background.  The calling number tired to dissconnet several times before dissconnecting.

Called on my phone and I am on a due not national call list.   My hunband has very hard time in walking. I do not like this it happens all the time with different numbers.

Same number and ID. Called during dinner. I didn't answer. They didn't leave a message. I have an unlisted number, so I suspect that it came from an auto-dialer.

I just got a call.  I didn't answer because I didn't know the name or number.  Certainly glad that I didn't.  Thanks for the heads up.
