These people keep calling, from many different numbers for almost a year now. It is a scam to get people's credit card info. I am on the do not call list and have asked to be taken off their list and nothing stops them.

Awww. . .
None of the belly-crawling cowards will take us up on it. Lead the ?live operator? on for a while, then invite them, and their criminal employers to join in the conversation on FTC and FCC Facebook pages. Also, search FB- ?card services? to find more blogs fighting back.
Post any call info such as the ?card service reps? name, company, and caller ID #s.
Also, judging by all the ?thumbs down?, they hate being recorded and put on you tube!
Some more recent robo-scummers sued Nov 2012 by the FTC operating in Arizona.

Oh how they squirm, and deny everything when the crap hits the fan.

Hope I have this correct- the FTC has jurisdiction over the Telemarketing Sales Rules (TSR), and the FCC has jurisdiction over the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). I believe the FBI has jurisdiction over the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), and the U.S. Secret Service has jurisdiction over the ?foreign for profit business entities? that siphon the ill-gotten money out of U.S. jurisdiction. If the Feds would ALL get together on this problem, maybe it would actually stop for good!
Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act U.S.C. Title 18, Chapter 96 § 1962:
Sections 891-894 (relating to extortionate credit transactions), section 1028 (relating to fraud and related activity in connection with identification documents), section 1029 (relating to fraud and related activity in connection with access devices),?
Section 1 of Pub. L. 91-452 provided in part that: "The Congress finds that (1) organized crime in the United States is a highly sophisticated, diversified, and widespread activity that annually drains billions of dollars from America's economy by unlawful conduct and the illegal use of force, fraud, and corruption;

just received call from this number, and several others. they want to lower my credit card interest rate and i don't have a credit card. if i call back like everyone else has stated they hangup. i'm also on do not call list. Is there anything we can do? How do these people get paid? and how does the people running this make money?

Unwanted solicitation will not stop calling.
Matt 2012-12-12 15:32:59 Telemarketer
"Lower your interest rate" scam. My method is to feign interest and ask them to tell me more. When they start talking i lay the phone down and then pick it back up in about 5 minutes. Any time of theirs wasted is a bonus.
HAWK 2012-12-11 22:15:16 Unknown
A***OLE SCAMMERS. THEY DON'T REMOVE YOUR #. THEY JUST KEEP CALLING. FTC DOES NOTHING. SPOOF CALLS FROM ALL OVER. WANT TO REDUCE YOU CREDIT CARD RATE.
Michael B. Steinberg 2012-12-11 22:06:25 Unknown
Received call today. No ID. Didn't pick up. Will add to my "Solicitor" list which has a unique ring assigned to it. When I hear that ring, I never answer.

been getting these call for at least a year now....508-475-1388 and 405-568-0145. Same people, same scam. I do like the idea of talking to them and saying "State Police" or "Govenors Office" or anything in that sort. You would think they would say to themselves..."hmm..maybe we should not call that number anymore"

getting at least 3-4 calls a week from this number, soliciting unwanted business
MIke meyer 2012-12-11 20:21:18 Unknown
good Idea, if your work allows it its pretty funny because these telemarketers get paid by how many calls per hour they make to so if you waiste their time they get as irritated as we do having to recieving their calls
Big One 2012-12-11 20:12:34 Unknown
Answered the phone and pressed 1. As soon as they answer I respond with "State Police..How may I help you". Then they hang up.
T Meyers 2012-12-11 19:48:16 Unknown
This number calls my cell phone daily. Whenever I speak to a person, they hang up on me. There has to be a law to prevent this??
sm 2012-12-11 19:36:03 Unknown
this number keeps calling even though I have my phone number on the do not call list. Never answer. How did they get my cell #. I hardly ever use my cell phone.
Dean 2012-12-11 17:11:41 Unknown
Just hit #1 and when they get on the phone waste their time, I ask then questions such as " what are you wearing"? is it skimpy maybe see through or crouch-less. if they want to waste my time i am game to waste theirs
davra 2012-12-11 16:58:34 Telemarketer
Same Thing. Received a call from (405) 568-0145, pressed 1 to "reduce rates" and got to a "Heidi". I asked what company she was calling from and then she hung up on me. I get the calls every couple weeks and try to get further with them to see if I can get any information but they will hang up at the smallest sign that you are on to them. Definitely a scam! I also keep asking to be removed and they just hang up.

nothing I can do with my cell as it's a cheap Straight Talk plan but for home phone the Digitone Call Blocker was the best $100 I ever spent
E.K.G. 2012-12-11 16:32:16 Unknown
I am on the do not call list for my home phone and cell phone and cannot get them to stop calling me!
They call on both numbers and when I try to get off their list they hang up on me and the calls continue. hen I try to call them back there is a message stating that it is a non working number. There must be some way to stop these harrassing calls!

They are like bill collectors. Too sorry to get a REAL job.
Gustavo Meza 2012-12-10 21:27:08 Unknown
guys let's just answer the phone and give them a wrong credit card # so they have to call. Keep them in the line as long as you can, that way they will take people off the no call list. Now they just do not care. If we all do it they will have to stop since it would waste too much of their time.
judy 2012-10-10 19:47:04 Unknown
the 800 number at the top of the list
is from the Phillipines
they answer Visa
they want your account number
Becky 2012-10-10 19:35:42 Telemarketer
They have called my cell # several times and I too wish they would stop. Something about lowering your credit card . . . blah, blah, blah
PJ 2012-10-10 19:16:29 Unknown
When I answer they do no reply and then the call disconnects.
jake 2012-10-10 18:56:14 Unknown
5.95 per month to block up to 18 numbers. You are throwing money away. I have been called by these A**les so many times, I have over 60 different number listed in my contact as "Do Not Answer - CCS" (CCS=credit card scam)
Jake 2012-10-10 18:51:46 Unknown
I don't think they are from overseas although I could be wrong. I've spoken to a few of them and they all sound "American"
Jake 2012-10-10 18:50:03 Unknown
I have over 60 numbers in my contact list that I just save as do not answer. Because of calls from these a**les (Credit card services), I no longer answer my phone unless I recognize the number. Verizon will not do a damn thing about this.

The Do Not Call number is 888-382-1222 or donotcall.gov
I got some advice from another thread, about 321-250-2030, another new number I'm getting calls from on a different phone, uhgh! Instead of paying ATT monthly, etc. it mentioned a machine for a one time cost of about $100. Possibly the Digitone Call Blocker, or Call Blocker 10, or one person said his unidin cordless phone blocks calls, sends a tone, then disconnects. I'm going to check those out. This is never ending, so as much as I hate it, I may spend the money to help with this problem.
