Debt Collector
Michael called my friend and told her she owed almost one thousand dollars from a cash advance that, according to him, she had failed to repay.  He added this had occurred three years ago.  My friend had never taken a cash advance and was confused, but concerned when Michael stated she had court in a few weeks.  Michael added we could take care of this if she just paid.   I said we will see you in court and he hung up the phone.  Michael is a criminal and scam artist.

Prank Call
Micheal Turner called from 405-652-0500 and wanted me to call him back on my acct.  65030.  I have not called him back due to me reading on this man.  He did mention that he wanted to speak with me about a debt I owe and wanted to work with me so that It would not go into a legal matter.  I had him call before and hate to say that I did pay a bill that I was not aware of.  He is calling again and I refuse to speak with him.  I will just wait until I go to court.

Mr. Turner from TDRG called this morning for an employee who hasn't worked in our school district since 2007.  I returned his call and left a voice message informing him of that fact and requested that he not call again.

I, too, got a call from Michael Turner of TDRG regarding a supposed bad check I was to have written back in the late 90's!  When I asked for proof of this transaction, I was told that I would get this but not until AFTER I sent a payment. Yea, right!  While I don't know "Alfalfa" above, this sounds like excellent advice and I intend to follow through with those suggestions. Part of it is getting in touch with the FTC. Perhaps if enough of us do this it will get their attention so they can shut this scam down! They worked on me until they realized that my insistence on proof of this supposed debt was not going to come my way, then threatened me with legal action at a cost of over $3,000, Turner finally gave up and terminated the conversation. It was obvious to me that the "fish", meaning me, had fought itself off the line!

This number called and left a message on my voicemail that he was Michael Turner about a civil clam to do with something attached to checking information. Need to contact him in regard to this urgent message. We have been harassed by these people for going on 2 years now. I filed a complaint with my state attorney Generals office and today I called the Federal Trade Commission and filed a complaint. DO not pay them anything they are scammers. The more complaints the FTC  gets the better, call the FTC @ 1-877-382-4357 and follow the prompts to file a complaint against them over the phone.
Do not give them any of your information !!! They are 2 or 3 of them working together.....Don't talk to them at all and call the FTC right away...

These debt collectors are trying to revive old debts. If they persist in harassing you complain to the FCC. Sometimes they want to scare you by claiming they will take " legal action". If the debt is over 4 years they can no longer file lawsuit to collect a debt. If they have no judgement, it will be very difficult to put a lien real property or bank accounts. They try to trick you into making a payment, which revives the debt, starting the statute of limitation again. Don't fall for the trick.

Collin, We can't get an address but its from OK city, OK area code with a VoIP carrier . The guy is a crook & once you start pumping him for information, he will leave you alone.
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the crook that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. I'm
sure once you ask for this information he will leave you alone because the last place he wants to be is in court.

You can even refer him to this page & let Mr Turner know that everyone of us on this page would also like to know his address. Good Luck

Wayne...My husband also got a call from these people stating that he had a bad check debt through our local bank.Well needless to say I called the bank who informed us that we didn't owe them anything and the man told my husband the same thing that if he didn't pay he would be going to court on May 17. Well after he spoke to my husband he called my mother and our son and also informed them that they owed him a debt and that if he didn't pay he would end up being arrested and he would have to pay over 3,000. He told him to pay 901.12 before then. Well this company had my husband's number to call him directly and he broke federal law by contacting other people and talking about my husband. TDRG is not a company that can be found anywhere. We filed complaints with the FTC, FCC, Attorney General's office and had a lawyer from Law offices of Michael Lupolover named Raymond Rodriguez who called this guy and posed as a consumer Brian Ramirez and this man refused to give him any information of the business he supposedly works at and they traced the number and it isn't even showing up. Also 411 and the BBB have never heard of this company as well. Don't give them any information

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

If TDRG was legit, I would be able to find them on the internet. I traced the phone to a VoIP carrier. Before paying anything to Michael Turner, have him to send you the paper work showing where & what you owe. Do not give him a credit card number over the phone. Have him to send you a pictured ID & the address of the company he is working for but don't give him your home address. If he is legit, he should have all of the information you requested including your home address & have no problem with sending you the information you requested. I think Michael Turner is a con artist. He gave my daughter til the 15th of May to make a decision on how she was going to pay this bill or he was going to take her to court. I'm waiting to hear from him because we are ready to go to court.
