No way!  I sent them 160.00 and nothing was said about any fee s.  Till after they had it. Then a bank transfer fee of 250! Like a dumb a'' i did it.  And i asked they said no more fees, and i could look on their web site. I was not near my laptop.  i was to get 1400 loan and 160 and 250 back.  Then they called again, they needed 270 for taxes.  Bull tried to get it all sent back to me. fat chance. they said it was all in transaction. they needed the last 270 and then i would get it all back.  with out it there was nothing they could do.  well they are spending my money .  I am off on medical leave son has been laid off. and these foriengers need to go back to where ever cause they are not from the usa!  and they can use my money. Go to a store for a pay day loan do not even send anything western union unless you know the person!

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010  FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim?s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims? relatives, friends, and employers.

Yep, they called twice and when I called back a woman with a very thick Indian Accent answered the phone and I barely understood what she said other than she said Drake Law Firm.  The second call didn't understand a word and then she hung up.  This time when they called back I asked the man what it was about and he said he would have to give me to his supervisor and when he transferred I could hear the tones from his punching buttons on the phone.  No law firm would have this system.  If you Google Drake Law Firm Montana you will see there is an actual law firm in Helena who has in red a note about these folks.  It's funny how someone else here said they were told they owe $498.00 and this is what the supervisor that picked up the phone said I owed.  I asked him for proof and he said when the sheriff comes to my house tomorrow and arrests me that's when I'll get the proof.  I told him ok and then he said aren't I worried about being arrested and what would my children do.  I told him I don't have kids which I do but they are way grown up and boy did that make him mad and then he slammed down the phone.  Scam written all over that one.

This idiot called me Mr. Savhire. He started with the same as most people on here. What is your attorneys name? You will be arrested if you don't pay, blah, blah blah. I told him to f*** himself, that if I owed money send me a bill with my signature saying I borrowed it. He said they don't do that. I said well, I am not paying you a f****ng dime you raghead! Folks, listen if you owe money to a legitimate company, they wouldnt threaten arrest. It is civil litigation not criminal. Don't lose sleep over these idiots. It is illegal to threaten arrest if you don't pay money.

1st of all these people are calling from an internet phone making hard to trace. They call from several different numbers and sometimes call from blocked numbers: here are a list of numbers I have on them so far 406-545-7112; 647-862-0877; 682-237-4164; 214-483-1884; Keep reading it gets interesting:

My 1st contact from them was for a payday loan from cash4u24x7.com check out its a working website but the people behind it are scammers. Their Ip addres is 199.233.237.200 and you can go here to see all hosting info on them: http://whois.webhosting.info/cash4u24x7.com. I could get their hosting company to comply. They use moneypak to get you to pay now and you don't get anything back. They may have your personal information and try to scare you into submission by reading your bank account routing and social security etc..(scary). I had to place an alert on my ss, close my bank account and change my cell.

They still found me at my work place this time claiming to be from drake law firm. They all sound the same every time and that's how I caught on. ( It seems they have an Indian accent from India and go by American names. Here are a few: Tony Johnson; Eric Johnson, Angel Jones, Steve Nash. Steve Nash is now Jonathon Howard when he called from "Drake law firm" which is BS.

I went as far as getting a recording that I'm going to turn over to the FBI, FTC and local police which I already file a case with. Here's where you can get involve: The FBI internet crimes division, FTC, and local police say they can't do anything. The FBI agent I talked to try to counsel me to take the lost and never talk to them again and that's all they can do. Oh did I mention they were able to get 1200.00 out of me with all the personal info they had. Call the FBI and FTC to add your name to this case so it gets more traction:  Complaint Id: I1401082209080101; and the Honolulu Police Department if in the state of Hawaii: Report # 14-009800 file with office Young at the main police station.

I have a lot more info and keeping my own logs and records as I move forward but it's not keeping me down. If you want more details to help your situation or simply offer me advice please feel free to e-mail this temporary e-mail I set until I am sure enough I have done everything to protect myself in the future: info@zeleeuniversity.com.

Thank you and I hope this helps you.

After opening a credit card with a reputable company.  I won't say which one but this was a real credit card not one of these rush card deals or anything. I started getting phone calls from this number. They said there was a suit pending against me in my home state for federal check fraud from a company called advanced cash. I asked to name the state the lawsuit was in and he didn't even know what state I lived in. He said it was for a loan I received. Well I haven't received a loan of any amount in at least 10 years, so it became clear quickly this was some sort of scam. Like said by others someone with a foreign accent. Very rude. Didn't know what he was talking about obviously no lawyer. Didn't want me to ask questions. Just said he needed to finish reading the affidavit. I didn't borrow money from these clowns or anyone else, but for this who may have many states including North Carolina do not hand out lending lisences to payday companies. This basically means by lending you money they are breaking the law, and I'm almost positive they can't sue you to reclaim the money. Please people dot take out a payday loan, but if you do don't get swindled twice by these jokers.

I just got a call from them they  called me 4 times in a row. They knew the last four of my social and Indian accent said they needed my lawyers information to start legal proceedings ( umm....if a company is filing suit against me they do not need my consent to file suit). I looked up this number after the second time they called and before I answered. The person on the other end was completely incompetent. She said my name I said yes. She kept complaining she couldn't hear me I was like well if you would learn a little more English I could understand you better. Your the one calling me deal with it. (Totally being a complete a** because I hate people that prey on vulnerable people.I'm a single mom of two and far from an idiot.) When I told her that I have already looked up this number and no its a scam so they can stop trying to act all hard. I've never heard of anyone going to jail for being late on a few bills. And having a batchlors in accounting I know companies eventually write off these accounts and suffer the loss. After I told her I am aware that this a scam she did not call back after they had just called me four times in a row. If it was true they would have called right back after I hung up...so guess there is your answer. SCAM

I received the same call yesterday on my cell and at work. the first guy was a Mark Johnson and I was told that some one from US Cash was going after me for fraud an I was going to be arrested. I wasn't thinking start and gave them $300.00 which was half of what I owed to them. he would not let me off the phone until I went to get the pre paid card and I should have known then that it was wrong. then I spoke with a Duane McGuire a collection rep which said once I paid this he would call me back with confirmation number the next morning. I did ask some questions but again I was so out of it that I didn't think the process through. I then received a call this morning from Duane again stating that the collector would not accept my $300.00 then want it all. I asked him to send me something with this information and he said he would once I paid. I did some research and found out that this was not true at all. I think part of the reason they got my name, cell number, work number and ssn# was from the internet. I will be calling them back and telling never to contact me again and I want my money back or i'm going to sue them for millions  of dollars. Stupid stupid me

I received a call today, on my office line. A monthly India accented guy tried to tell me he was sending the cops to arrest me. I also got a voice message from the same idiot, stating that I needed to have my attorney call him regarding my legal issues.

This is a scam. This guy is a waste of life and I am turning his number in to the FTC. I will follow the status of my complaint until someone stops him from running his mouth again.

They called me about three times and I rejected every single time and they left me a voicemail. She said it's "extremely sensitive" and that once I heard this, that I should called back. And before I did, I did a little research and found you guy. But yeah I got scam once for about $800 dollars. And again, NO ONE can threaten you and tell you you're going to lose your job, etc. because that's bs! But don't worry, they're trying to scam the s*** out of you. Don't get me wrong, I was scared shitless when I heard that voicemail. But don't let it phase you and report their a***s. I already did.

got a call saying i owed money from a pay day loan that i took and never paid back, and that i was going to be arrested tomorrow by the sheriff, which i replied that i have never heard of anyone getting arrested for defaulting on a loan first of all and second off all if anything were to happen worse case scenario is they may get a judgement against you if the loan amount is big enough, and then he went on to say they were just calling to give me a heads up, oh and he couldn't tell me the company in which i took the supposed pay day loan from. the problem i explained to him is I've never taken a pay day loan, plus he sure as hell didn't sound like someone from Montana. So i played along with him and told him to give me his address and phone number and my attorney would be contacting him as well if he showed up at my place of business i would file my own charges of harassment and tress passing because i own the company that they were threatening to come and get me fired from. so he went on to tell me not to play around with him and that i should have fun getting arrested and hung up on me. I was going to call the sheriff's office to ask them about this accusation but i looked the number up and law firm on line and came across this which confirmed my suspicion as well the actual drake law firm has a posting on there site in big red letters explaining that this is a scam.

I received this call at my work today stating that charges are being pressed against me for three different counts including theft by deception, check fraud, etc.  I could not understand the gentleman as he was "reading my affidavit" so I politely asked to speak with someone of whom I could understand better.  After holding, the same gentleman came back onto the line and continued to pursue reading to me.  As I became frustrated I informed the gentleman I needed to know where he was from, who he was representing, and the purpose of the call.  The gentleman seemed very confused and said to just let him finished reading.  I rudely interrupted and stated that I would like to speak with a manager so that I could determine the purpose of the call in which he said there was no one I could speak with, so I hung up.  Does anyone know which firm this is representing as this is illegal and I will pursue harrassment charges for such a situation...

Just got a phone call from someone at this number.  The guy had a very thick accent and I could barely understand him.  Something about me owing a debt and charges being filed against me in my state.  Then asked if I knew about the situation even though he hadn't provided any details about the debt.  I asked how I could know about it when he hadn't even told me what it was.  I was then transferred to a "supervisor" who told me that it was some payday loan company and that they filed a claim against me for check fraud and theft by deception in my state--I asked which county and then the story changed to they were going to file the charges against me if I didn't pay today.  I asked for valid proof of the debt in writing and was told that they aren't legally allowed to send me anything in writing and if I'm disputing the debt they'll file charges. I told him to go ahead and was told within an hour I would have the sherrif in my county coming to my place of employement with the affidavit and an arrest warrant and I would spend 20 days in jail and then have to go to court.  I said ok and he told me to have fun getting arrested and hung up on me!  SCAM!!!!!!!!  I've warned the receptionist to be expecting the sherrif.  LOL

When I was out on medical leave from surgery, I called numbers like this all the time. I'd give them my father's name (who's been dead for a long, long time!) They'd say, "oh yeah, we have his file right here and he owes from a pay day loan from last year." I'd inform them he's been dead for 10 years and they'd say, "oh, it's probably your brother." Me - I'm an only child.

I would do whatever I could to keep them on the phone to waste their time. I did it every day for 2 weeks. I'd try different accents, different name, some times I'd just insist I was calling to order a pizza or calling my bank to order checks.

Dumb*sses!
