I called from a landline and it's simply a recorded messaging system asking you to punch in your 16 digit account info. So I typed the numbers for gof&ckyourselves.

I just got a text on my cell phone:
"RTN F.C.U. Alert: Your CARD starting with 4792** has been DEACTIVATED. Please contact us at: 617-939-0151."
That was verbatim, caps and all. The text came from 617-291-6209 which was a cell phone issued in Milton, MA. The number they want me to call is a land line located in Boston, MA.
Yah, Right!

Got same messsage from 671615 7945. The number was a tip off. Also the fact that I dont have a credit card or an account at RTN. Just a heads up. Received on 7/12/11

Got this messageon 5/7. I figured it was bogus simply because the message said "...your card starting with...". Usually it's the ending numbers that legit companies refer to (i.e., xxx-xxxxxx-1234).

Just got a text from that number.. what a bunch of crap. Do these people have anything else to due, other then trying to get our info?? go get a job and make your own money!

Received the same message, glad to know I shouldn't call the number. Is there no way to report scammers like this to the authorities and have them caught? What a shame.

Yep, just got the same message. Figured it was bogus due to the cryptic phrasing and lack of company name. Wish we could get this type of scammer fined or thrown in jail.

Text Message reading, "RTN F.C.U. ALERT: Your card starting with 4792 has been DEACTIVATED, please contact us at 978-204-1262." The number left is a cell phone. Web searches reveal this to be a scam. Usually, if you call the given cell phone, they try to get your account info out of you.
