406-782-4940 calls constantly.  When I asked who they were a man asked that I telll the man or lady of the house that: "Law Enforcements is calling" and then he abruptly hung up.

Received a call @ 1:15 PM, when I answered a woman's voice said to please hold for next available operator. Since I didn't call MPPA, I wasn't going to hold for the next available operator so i hung up. Have gotten calls from this number before but never answered. I think I will report this to the real Montana Police Protective Association, maybe they will shut these scam artists down!!!

MPPA called on 2/27/11 and hung up when they got the answering machine. Not the first time they have called. Called several times a few months back. We just let the answering machine take it, but they never leave a message. Tired of the calls.

These people are a scam

I called the number above and got the voicemail for the Montana Police Protective Association. I gave him my number and told him I would never donate to the organization as long as they're using these telemarketers. This is my second attempt to get these people to leave us alone. One time out of perhaps 30 phone calls, someone was on the line. We had a long discussion that was basically my telling him to get off my back. Obviously that didn't work, but at least I can show that they haven't stopped.

I have spoken with the Great Falls police department and they say to call MPPA directly and inform them that you are getting these types of phone calls.  The MPPA number is 1-800-565-8557

I live in Glasgow Montana I have a unlisted unpub number... I know i did not tell the  MPPA or the local police dept my number... I want to know how they got it.... No i did not answer it  what what is it? who are they? Plus I donot give out my Number I am getting a lot of calls from companies and I had signed up on the donot call list ... I think that is where they are getting Peoples phone numbers... If you had singed up on Donot call list and if you are getting calls I think that is a scam site.... I got more calls after i had singed up there...

All they want is money. Watch them run when you ask for printed information via mail. Mail fraud is a serious crime, where phony police benevolent association phone calls are just a nusiance. The Do Not Call people would need to work fulltime to shut down this bunch of crooks. So, call your local Sheriff every time you get one of these solicitation calls and ask if he/she is participating in this suspicious program. If they aren't ask them to get it stopped. Butte, Montana doesn't need the money.

They just called my house, it rang twice and then they hung up.  I'm on the DNC and I pay extra money to keep my number private.  What do I need to do to have peace and quiet?!?!?!

Get a call from 406-782-4940  (MPPA)at least once a week but never pick up and they never leave a message.

It has been well documented in newspapers and magazines that these supposed police benefit associations are NOT officially tied to any law enforcement association and what, if any, benefits they provide law enforcement benevolent associations is next to nothing. They are mostly there to enrich themselves! Do not fall for it! If they were legitimate, they would more than be happy to provide supporting documentation on their contribution to expense ratio, but just ask for that in writing and see how quickly they hang up the phone!

Nothing new to add to this, just hoping that saying as much on here would give one more vote to help people not answer thier calls. They call me on a weekly basis.

Called around supper time; wish police had more time for investigations and less time for calls...

They called several times and never leave a message. I called their number and got a recording saying they are looking for sponsors for the Montana Police Protective Association. If you want to speak to a person you have to call back during business hours. They always call me during non-business hours and at inconvenient times. They also refer you to another number to call later 1-800-557-1454 Ext. 337. I called the 800 number and received another recording to call back during business hours of 10-3 M-F. The recording doesn't state the owner of that number. I think this must be a scam.
