I dnt want to get unkown calls. On my phn

Caller ID showed call from 406-948-8852 at 5:24 AM. This is 2 hours before I normally wake up. Now I can't get back to sleep.

I notice that the notes from this number stop about July 26, the date we got our call from it.  Probably have moved on and changed their number again.  Have been getting calls from this GANG OF THIEVES for AT LEAST FOUR YEARS NOW.  I don't answer them, but its discouraging that ignoring them does not stop or decrease them.

These numbers ARE probably spoofed and probably DO come from Overseas, but we SHOULD be able to expect our GOVERNMENT (OF the People, BY the People and **FOR** the People) TO DO SOMETHING about this, INCLUDING NUKING the SCUMBALL country (probably Pakistan or some other filthy MUSLIM Sh*THole, including Africa) where these calls originate.

I'm concerned that these calls are coming from overseas, probably from people who are funding TERRORIST ACTIVITIES from  these PHISHING scams - because all they really want is a CREDIT CARD number so they can STEAL money from unsuspecting and gullible Americans.  Since these call are probably coming from PAKISTAN or some other "STAN", why can't we trace them and put these people in front of a firing squad?

Third call this week. Sometimes the number comes through as +40 69488852, other times as (406) 948-8852. Actually picked up the call today:

Telemarketer with heavy African accent: Blah Blah Blah "Smoke Alarm" Blah Blah Blah
Me: I'm sorry ma'am, but I am on the "do-not-call list". What company are you with?
Telemarketer: CLICK

Guess they know they're doing something wrong.

Got a call and ignored it...looked it up here and I think I might call them back...everyday...I wonder if they like it too

Do you REALLY expect the government (DNC) to protect you???  I'm still amazed when folks like you whine about 'I'm on the DNC, why do they call me'.  MOST of these callers are NOT calling from the US, they spoof the numbers making caller ID is worthless in these cases. Government can't do anything about the callers from other countries, the DNC is only effective in stopping unwanted calls from legitimate companies. Just another example of the good guys lose while the bad guys make out like bandits since the rules do not apply to them.

If you don't receognize the number, IGNORE it, They WILL go away after a couple of months only to be replaced by another caller.
I have over 100 numbers on my phone that I marked as IGNORE and I do just that. The DNC is NOT going to help you and I wouldn't be surprised to discover THEY sell our information.

BTW, you DO have to re-register with the DNC every few years, it's not a lifetime thing.

Geez people, grow a pair. If you don't recognize the number DON'T ANSWER, if it's an important call they WILL leave a message.  All the whining about 'how did they get my cell number...I never give it out'. Oh really?  How many times have you listed your alternate number, or best way to reach you number on a contract, delivery info, etc...You do realize people SELL your 'private' information don't you?  The DMV in Florida actually sells your data....that state made over $60 MILLION dollars last year from that. It's actually legal. I'm sure many other states do it as well.
Those of you that actually believe the DNC really does anything for you....you're very misguided. Most of these telemarketing calls are from out of the country or if here, they are tough to reach do to spoofing phone numbers...don't believe your caller ID.
People, take a stand & take care of YOURSELF..no one is going to do that for you, especially not the government!!  If you don't receognize a number ignore it. I have over 100 numbers on my cell phone that are labeled 'IGNORE' and I do just that and after a couple of months the calls from that number cease.

I got a call today from these clowns.. i find the.best way to deal w/ telemarketers, is for u to answer the phone using a strange accent and act confused... and just keep telling thm they got the wrong #... i even do tht whn my cell phn carries called me to sell crap..

I have continued to receive calls from the above number despite my repeatedly asking them to STOP
CALLING MY PHONE NUMBER.

What measures am I supposed to take to insure the callers from this number stop calling my number?

It is calling everyone of our cell phones.  It plays music and hangs up.  Per this post I am glad I never called it back.  I guess I will need to block it.  Thanks.

I got a call from this number and they said that they will not take me off their calling list.  They also said that they will continue to call everyday.

Indians in US searching for people to scam

Just got a call from this number. looks like a number in Montana. Really... for me??? Sorry. No answer here :-). They let it ring too long and my answering service came on. They immediately hung up. Leave me alone!!

they just called me, said they were not selling anything just doing a survey.  Her english was weak, very weak.  This was my work phone otherwise i would not answer an out of state call from someone i didn't know
First question was Do you have smoke detectors?  I answered yes, then she asked about fire extinguishers, i said yes.  Then i no longer understood wtf she was saying until she asked me for my name.  I responded, No, you tell me your name.  She then hung up.

All I heard was, Hello, my name is Christina then she hung up. From her accent, I seriously doubt her name was Christina. (I pictured some guy named Peggy on the other line!)

I just got a call from this number too. Some guy with a strange accent (possibly Indian). He had trouble speaking English clearly, said he was with VMS Electric or some crap like that. I immediately asked if this was an advertisement and he hung up!

I receaved a call today from this number by the telemarketer people. I told him he called a business and I have a GREAT Deal on cases of ANAL CREAM and ask him for his shipping info! Lucky me he didn't want to talk anymore.   :)  :)

I just got a phone call from 406-948-8852, and didn't answer because it is an unknown number to me.  And thanks to this website, I found out FOR FREE it is a solicitor that has no business calling me in the first place (other websites merely suggested it was a Montana number, and wanted money for more info).  THANK YOU 800notes.com , I am marking you in my favorites!
