Received the call Monday noon simultaneously on my 2 phone lines.  A recorded Rachael wanted to lower my interest rate.  I did not push 9.  I am on "do not call" list.

I received a call from this number today.  I am also on the Do not call registry.  I didn't answer as I have caller ID and was suspicious of the number.  I will be reporting this number on the do not call registry.  It seems that someone there should be able to find out where these calls are originating from.  I too am very happy that there are those of you who take the time to report here as it's helped me many times to figure out who has called me and why.  Thank you all!

My Aunt received this call. The recording sais they were calling to lower your interest rate on your credit card and that her card was not in any trouble. Then it says if you wish to speak with a customer service rep. you should press 9. So she did and a lady answered, my Aunt said what card are you talking about? The woman hung up on her. My Aunt called her phone company and they said it was a scam and that the phone number was a ghost phone number. Thank you for your time. It is good to know that there are people out there that are trying to help in situations like this and any other kind as well. Thanks to all of you who are involved with this web site and to those of you who provided the postings of your experience with this scam. God bless!!

Received a call from unstated credit card company stating my account was not in trouble.  Offered my the chance to lower my interst rate to 6%.  All I had to do was dial 9.  I did.  A foreign voice on the other end yelled at me wanting to know why I was calling him.  He hung up.  So did I.  What kind of scam is this.  Should I be worried that someone has my phone number?

Same thing for me.  Bits of our conversation: he refused to give any information on what bank he was calling from, said it was for all Visa & Mastercard; I couldn't talk to a supervisor because he was the supervisor; I shouldn't have answered the call since I had caller Id; if I was on the do-not-call list then how could he call me (huh?); the only way to get him to not call was to sign up for something; he didn't care if he wasted my time because he had all the time in the world; he knew it wasn't enjoyable for me, but he enjoyed it; finally hung up on me because he had another in-coming call.  I guess someone else had pressed 9 with another potential credit-card # for him to scam...
