Did the same thing to me. They called me in November and said I signed up for a 5 year subcription for $49/month. They said that they had been sending them for a year and that now it was time to pay. They already had my debit card number and read it off to me to confirm it. When I told them that was wrong, they told me it wasn't because they already sent a test charge through. I quickly cancelled my debit card and the bank didn't let the transaction go through. Be careful with these scammers!

they called and i answered and the guy said "Seth" and i said yes? and he said "Seth!" and i said yeah?! and then he hung up. when i tryed to call back it said the "the extension (then gave a long number) is unavalible.

Ditto some of the reports below.  They seemed to have some information on me,   The man who told me my charges were $4.61 a week etc.  I asked him what magazines was I getting, and he stalled and named something I never heard of.  I told him I only got two magazines and named them, then asked what was I supposed to be getting.  He hung up on me.  I attempted calling the caller ID number back and got a recorded message this number was invalid!

They told me they were a company that I was doing buisness with in the past. THey asked about my magazines. I got home and checked my bank account and they had taken $50.00.  They are thieves

I got a call from these people saying that they are charging me for a magazine that I never ordered. Apparently they have my full name, address, and credit card number. I tried to tell them that I do not want any magazine and I did not order anything. The lady told me there would be a charge to cancel it and told me she would transfer the call to the manager. When a told the manager that I need this tobe canceled right away she hang up on me and I tried calling back but the phone does not work. What should I do? I don't know what to do to make sure they do not charge my credit card.

call your state attorney general and file a complaint they get enough they will have to stop
trying to do this

these ppl just called me and i didnt pickup and by reading some of these posts im glad i didnt i will not be picking up my phone when they call hopefully they get the hint how do i get these ppl to leave me alone

This company had our credit card info and called to tell us they were renewing our subscriptions and wanted to verify our identity.  They provided last digits of our credit card number and home address.  Once we verified our identity, the call finished.

An hour later, a charge appeared on my online credit card account and when I called their complaint dept listed on mymagazineconnection.com, they told me that they had no records of the purchase. Now I have to cancel my credit card and go through the process of filing a complaint against MAGAZINE CLUB OF DENVER, CO. magazine connection and magazine club are one in the same RIP-OFF artists.

I got a call from this number stating that it was a courtisy call about some magazine subscription. I told them it was not a good time and hung up. I then tried to call the number back bexa oi se I wanted to know how he got my number but all I received was a «This number is no longer in service»! Also when I aked his name he PAUSED? Then gave tha name Robert. I thank God for sites like this cause I was really freaing out. Thanx.

Received a call  around 6 p.m.regarding magazines I receive, Good Houskeeping and Better Homes & Garden.  I said I didn't receive Better Homes and I didn't want any more magazines.  He said I was in good standing and a preferred customer and checkng to make sure I receive my magazines. He verified my home address and phone number and asked how old I was. (I'm elderly.) I hope someone is not sizing me up for a break in.

So I too just got off the phone with them. It is a magazine clearing house which I have fallen for this once in the past almost  10 years ago.  But have not revived any magazines from 3rd party sources for well over five years. It's funny they call making sure you aren't being contact by other companies. My guess is so they could rob you blind.

A few fishy things that happened during my call...

1st only the supervisor was able to tell me what magazines I had, of which some I would never have order.  The person to talked me 1st had no clue what she was doing.

2nd they could only verify my card by the first four numbers which is standard so they really don't have anything.

And last they hung up on me after telling them I have not and don't plan on paying for any magazines on a monthly bases.

just receive a call as well. told them that i never place a order for this and i wanted to cancel it. the lady transfer me to her supervisor and he told me that he couldn't and that i was going to be charge for it and i told him no i never agree to this and he hung up on me. i am going to call my bank and let them know about this so theydon't try to charge me. i never gave the any account info but they did know my address. i try to call back but number is no good.

I was called by the number 407-476-0023 and they left no message. When I called them back the number was "Not connected or fraudulent".

My girlfriend got several calls. and they said that they will charge her for 12 months... idont know they dont pick up the phone either... mironkvachev@yahoo.com

These people keep on calling, I was told they would stop after a filed a BBB report, and a report with the district attorneys office.  They stopped calling me for 3 weeks, and just last night the calls started again.  How can I make this stop?

Man, they call me, too.  I didn't pick up.  I made sure that all my credit cards were cancelled and new ones were ordered in.  Hopefully they don't like illegally get a collection agency to get money from me.  Seriously, who are these folks?  I can' t get a hold of them and the only way of communication is when they call me or, I guess, when they send me something in the mail to the address they have.  I can't hide form them...

They called my cell at around 5:00 pm Pacific Time on 1/24. Recently I've gotten so many of these calls that I've learned not to answer. Of course no message left. But with this number as with many others I checked here at 800notes.com and found this lovely legacy. As I've taken to doing with every one of thse, I reported this one as well. The site http://www.fcc.gov/encyclopedia/do-not-call-list contains a link to http://www.fcc.gov/complaints which provides a form to complete. It's easy and quick. Another list is collecting complaints, and I file mine on both sites: www.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx and at some time I'm going to look into this seriously if it keeps up.

No matter what you tell them .. They will never stop calling you even if you tell them to take you off the calling list. They will stop for a while but then the calls would return . I don't know about you but they are still calling me. And with different numbers to.

I have Been dealing with these magazine company for over Two years now and they still don't get a hint .  To stop calling me .Magazine club, Reader's service and I believe one more magazine company is still calling me.They would tell me things like where I work, my work number, my address and other information That they would need for a magazine service. Numbers of my credit card that I have. Talk about harassment. These people just don't ever stop. I even went far as going with the Better Business Bureau. Men and ladies I been it really bad. And when they know that you are to them they will call with a different number. I even had a supervisor yell at me then take the money out my account. When I called them back they didn't want to give me back my money. Even they giving me a wrong credit card number that was not mines. They would hang up on you. And some of them will also yell back at you. WTF is wrong with these people. I know its not my place to judge them but who do they think they are. Calling people up harassing the callers. Imposing as a magazine company. And these people are really hard to track. You know guys we are living in such a crazy world . They need to open there eyes and see what they are doing. Because for all the BS I went through with them really had a bad effect on me. If I could I would take them all to court and take them all down..

Received a call from this guy about at about 6:45 on a Friday asking about magazines I ordered.  After I informed him that I didn't order any magazines he tried to get me to confirm my identify & credit information with him.  I asked him for a call back number & he wouldn't provide one and also would not let me speak to a supervisor.  Eventually he got frustrated & started yelling at me. I hung up the phone but when I called the number back it said it wasn't assigned.  Do not confirm any of your information with them - my information was shared illegally!

This magazine company has callled me twice saying I ordered some magazines.I told them I didn't order any magazines. This person said I paid for them.I told them I don't read magazines nor have I ordered any. He hung up on me. I tried calling the number back and was not able to.

This magazine pusher called me last week. I told them I didn't want their business! So they called tonight and hung up on me! Guess they didn't want to hear my attitude again. Haha

I just received a call from this #. They wanted to verify that I had received my magazines. I said I had not received any magazines and I asked what company they were with, namely Newsstand.  (I was just scammed by #8886439227, and they had me sign up for magazines through Newsstand.) Anyway, the caller said his company was Magazine club, still suspicious that Newsstand hadn't cancelled my magazines, I asked what magazines. He said it was a collection. When pushed to tell me what magazines were in the collection he said he couldn't see which ones, he worked in Billing. He repeated a few times that he worked in billing. I finally asked him to cancel all my subscriptions with his company, if there were any... and he hung up on me so fast. It's like he heard the word 'cancel' and disconnected.

F*cking a***oles. He was totally a ghetto punk too. Tons of attitude and drawl. I'm pretty sure they got my info from the former scammers. Effing hell, I will never trust any advertising again.
