Got the same stupid card as everyone else here stating that there was a house warming gift waiting for me. Signed B. Garret. Seems a little bit fishy to me and I dont advise anyone to even waist their time responding and dialing the number from the card.

Hey folks - I suggest contacting your local Postal Service if you receive mail that way.  I called mine, and the manager asked that I bring in the postcards I have.  I also pointed him to this website, noting not only have folks gotten cards with a '407' area code, but with 1-800 numbers as well (google Florida PDC FL).

I've received the same note, utilizing the main 407 number noted above (actually 2nd card so far).  I plan on notifying my HOA, builder and the local authorities.  I doubt it'll do any good, but I'm sure they'd like a heads up.

The same here, I had have 3 postcards, so far. I'm pretty sure they are getting this info from the county webpage like the county appraiser or something like that where you can find this kind of info, has to be thru that webpage because the stupid title house company misspelled the name of my wife and  now we are getting a bunch of advertising at our new home with  her name misspelled including these postcards. Does someone know if I can request my name to be removed from that webpage?

Telemarketer
Same as everyone else.  Thought the post card was from the HOA till I noticed it was printed and not actually handwritten.  Its a scam to get active numbers.  "Active" number data lists with matching names fetch about $50-100 per 1,000 names.  Only reason I know this is because I used to mine the data on these lists for companies who bought the lists.  We'd scrub them for Do Not Call and NCOA to match mailing addresses.

So don't call back and leave your info.  All you're doing is letting them sell your info without your knowledge.  By calling back and voluntarily leaving your contact information you are allowing them to bypass the telemarketing laws governing cold calls.

Exactly the same as above postings. Two postcards received. Looking after friends nbew house until they move in. I rang the number (from cell while at their home - should have waited until I got home to google the number first!!!) and there was a voicemail saying it was the gift dept. I left a message with my tel number and hope I will not suffer nuisance phonecalls as a result!! No phone at the new home so they are unable to harrass them!

Got 2 of those stupid cards in my mailbox the first time they delivered our mail to us after moving in. It's been like a week since our closing. These scam artists must work fast. I haven't gotten any weird phone calls yet, but then again, I don't have home phone hooked up yet. If I start getting weird hang-up phone calls, I guess I'll know who the culprit is. Has anybody tried to contact that person the reverse look-up brings up and asked what the deal is? This sounds like it borderlines on harassment.

I just got the postcard within days of closing on my new house.  i think they are getting your new address from the county comptroller's website.  looks like they must just check that site daily for anyone with a new mortgage.  I've been getting lots of other junk as well, life insurance to cover my mortgage, pest control.  The only way they could have my new address this quickly is through the comptroller.

Same thing, just bought a house.  My postcard is "signed" with "B. Garrett".  I just called the number, it's an answering machine.  It says, "Hi this is B. Garrett with the gift department.  Please leave your name and number and I will get back with you."  NOT.

I think I figured it out. A woman called me yesterday telling me that she wanted to receive her house warming gift. I asked her if she got the post card in the mail.  She said yes. I think that the jack*** people who are sending these post cards out are putting our phone # on them. The reason why we keep getting hang ups when we call the number on the post card is that the people are getting sick of answering the phone calls so they hang up immediately. This has got to be it, why would this woman have my # on the post card and ask me for her house warming gift.  I got another one today.  The number is 407-788-9418.
