I played along with their "game" to schedule an appointment.  Their claim from Steve Thomas, with a follow up from Andrew Johnson is that they will do ANY licensed contracting job starting at $2,000, and they will offer up discounts, blah, blah, blah, but "is this an offer of value to you?"  All these bizarre questions.  Their number to call back is 1-877-424-2352.  Will be calling to let them know they've been reported to Federal Trade Commission 877-382-4357 or ftc.gov  AND to cancel the appointment.  These boys sound like they're in the early 20's.

One more thing.  After cancelling the appointment, guess who called??? STEVE!  He thought he was my friend.... calling me "hey dawg, I just heard you done cancelled on me!"  "I want to thank you first off cause I got my commission, but now I need to reschedule you for another appointment for Friday."  Me:  "No."  "Now, I hear ya, I hear ya!  So anytime next week, yeah?"  Me:  "No, and you need to put me on the Do Not Call List".  Him:  "Aw man, I hear ya....O.K...."  And I hung up.  His caller ID on that call:  323-540-2199 (which is Los Angeles, folks). I think our "friend" Steve needs to hear from us-all asap to encourage him to get a "real" job instead of harassing people over the phone setting up fake $2,000/visit household repair jobs.

these guys called for months and I told them to get a real job. So they stop calling...then my truck gets stolen and this number calls that morning. All they say is, "Miss your truck?" Be very careful of these guys...once you react to your name or a location you become a hit for them. Isnt technology grand?!?
C'mon Law Enforcement!!!!! Go get 'em!!!

Call @ 10:00AM I pickup then they hang up

Received a call from 148-6631 Thursday, 8/22/13 @ 9:35am and once I saw on Caller ID the number I knew it was not good, so I let it ring, and after the answering message was done the idiot hung up!  

I have no idea what this caller is up to....just be aware of your house, neighborhood and etc...you never know these days with all the weirdos who have no jobs and nothing better to do.

No one leaves a message. When I call the number, the message says I have misdialed. I have no way of contacting whoever is calling to have my number put on a do not call list.

The call came in around 10:55 A.M. I answered the phone and a man said; "Hi, my name is Joe, how are you doing today?"  I asked him why he was calling? He then said; "Forget about it!" And then hung up on me. I then searched for his number online and came across this blog and wanted to post about this guy. In my search on his phone number it shows he's located in the area of Sunnyvale, Ca.

Keep getting calls from this number - its a contractor - have told him in the past to stop calling and told him again to stop calling and to take me off his call list- as if I would ever use someone like him - he became belligerent and would not stop arguing with me - next time he calls I'll  report him to the police for harassment

Follow-up:  there's a VERY young lady who answers the phone, and then transfers you over to the "right person" to cancel the appointment.  Funny, nobody ever answers that end of the line.....  I'm letting them know that my husband is a police officer in San Jose, soooooo good luck with that!  Ha ha ha!

The call came in  as "name not found" and the caller took a while to answer my "hello". he asked for my husband and I breezily asked him if this 'was one of those pervert phone calls. we don't accept pervert phone calls unless they are from our pervert friends." He hung up before I could find out if he was, in fact, one of my dear pervert friends. maybe next time.

Call from 408-148-6631 - Name Not Found.  Why can't the telephone company simply stop any such invalid number from being sent through the system.   A spoofed number should not be allowed.

Just got a call from 408-148-6631. He knew my name and offered to do some construction work around the home. I said wait a minute what is your business name and your name and he said " Gary Allen" B1 builders and we do lots of work in Los Gatos etc. When I said I was on the Do Not Call List, he got very angry and abusive and said that he needed to educate me about the federal do not call list , that it was illegal to pretend to have work for him but to really be trying to get his information to report him....WTF? I told him he called me and said don't bother me anymore and hung up. Then I tried to call back the number he was calling from but of course it did not work as it is spoofed. I also looked and the only B1 builders around are in another state.

So tired of all this .

I made the mistake of answering.......the guy stammered in trying to pronounce my last name, and when he realized he could not pronounce it, he simply (and awkwardly) asked for me by my first name. I responded, "If you do know how to pronounce my name, then this is probably as call on which I do not want to waste time."  At that point, he placed me on a very loud music hold...... and I hung up.

Same modus operandi here, hung up. JERK!

A guy called and when I answered, he laughed and hung up!

It was my 2nd call in 2 days from this weird number.  I didn't answer since my caller ID states No Name Found.  I tried calling it back but the number is not in service.  

I wish something can be done with all these callers!  I'm tired of it.

That'd be a good idea, having the police there for the meeting, except that they are the police.  Federal Law Enforcement.  Believe It!

This guy has been calling every day and it's driving me crazy. Today we I started to tell him not to call again, he called me a name and hung up. Whatever you do, don't trust him. He reeks scam.

Alex from Superior Construction.  Claimed to have spoken to husband months earlier about remodeling job.  Used first names.  States he is in the neighborhood and can stop by to estimate work.  Caller diverts from answering any of your questions to collaborate his claim.  Hangs up suddenly when pressure to answer your questions become unavoidable.

HE CALLED ME TODAY GOT THE LINES AND I ASKED IF MY WIFE CALLED THEM? MHE SAID LOOK I GOT A LOT OF THINGS TO DO,DO YOU NEED ANY WORK OR NOT. I REPEATED MY QUESTION IF MY WIFE CALLED THEM. HE SAID: HE DIDN'T HAVE TIME FIR THIS AND HUNG UP.
SO NEXT TOME HE CALLES I'M GONNA SAY YES PLEASE COME OVER-THEN HE WILL HAVE 4 TIRES TO FIX
OR BETTER YET-I'LL BLOCK HIS VEHICLE IN AND CALL THE POLICE AND MAKE A CITIZENS ARREST FOR TRESPASSING.

Caller ID "unknown", live telemarketing, identified as "Gary from Superior Construction" - I advised him that I am on the do not call list.

Asked for my husband by name, said he was from some construction company, and he wanted to know if the remodeling job was for inside or outside. I told him we have no remodeling job. He hung up.

I answered the call.  He was selling indoor and outdoor remodeling.  He said he got my number from a list of homeowners.  He said they were licensed contractors.  When I asked if they had a website, he hung up!

This number called me yesterday in the early evening. I answered and got the usual long pause from the caller. Finally I said, "Hello" a second time. I get this guy on the line whose speech sounded somewhat slurred. He claimed to be "Steve Thomas" from "Superior Construction." I asked this guy what this call was in reference to. He said that their company just finished a "project" on my neighbors home. I asked the caller where "Superior Construction" is located. He said, "On Coleman." He wouldn't give any specific location other than Coleman. I'm assuming Coleman Road in San Jose. I asked the caller to elaborate more on the "job" his so-called company performed on my neighbors home. He would not be specific at all. I asked the caller to give me some referenced so I can see the work you guys do. That's where the line went dead.

I've been getting other calls from pseudo-contractors claiming to be from ""Crown Construction." This caller is in the Stanford Palo Alto area.

It's always the same story you get from these bogus contractors. They'll tell you that "a neighbor just rendered their services," or "your home qualifies for repairs." Somehow these crooks and liars have access to your first and last name and even other family members.

I'd like to press the matter further and make an appointment with one of these bogus contractors and have the police meet them at the scene!
