I have this number calling multiple times a day at work for a coworker.  Person from India states they are "Kevin" and wants a call back.  If you call back the number says, "this is ACS, leave a message." Sounds like a scam and a half!

I just pulled this information off the FBI website:  Thought you would find it interesting...

Telephone Collection Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

12/01/2010?The IC3 receives a high volume of complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. In these scams, a caller claims that the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check cashing services.

One of the most insidious aspects of this scam is that the callers have accurate information about the victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. The method by which the fraudsters obtained the personal information is unclear, but victims often relay that they had completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls began.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim?s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide to the victims any details of the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers threaten victims with legal actions, arrests, and in some cases physical violence if they refuse to pay. In many cases, the callers even resort to harassment of the victim?s relatives, friends, and employers.

Some fraudsters instruct victims to fax a statement agreeing to pay a certain dollar amount, on a specific date, via prepaid visa card. The statement further declares that the victim would never dispute the debt.

These telephone calls are an attempt to obtain payment by instilling fear in the victims. Do not follow the instructions of the caller.

If you receive telephone calls such as these, you should:

   * Contact your banking institutions;
   * Contact the three major credit bureaus and request an alert be put on your file;
   * Contact your local law enforcement agencies if you feel you are in immediate danger;
   * File a complaint at www.IC3.gov.

I got 10 calls from this number alone last night.  When I did finally answer the call, I could barely understand the guy.  They did have all my personal information right down to my social security number which was frightening.  I told them if they wanted me to respond to anything they would have to send me something in writing since they had my correct address. I am still not really sure what they are trying to collect on.  The one time I did speak to them they said something about a payday loan in November 2010 which would not be me.  I have decided to report the number to the Attorney General's office of my state.

I received a call twice from this number 2 minutes apart.  Caller never leaves a message.  I came on here and read your incidents and am glad now that I did not answer.  I have had problems with people stealing my information and getting my debit card number and now I have to change bank altogether...ugh

The same 4082567159 number contacted me 5 times today. I didn't answer it the first time and when I saw they left a vmail I listened to it and knew immediately it was the group of bastards that called harassing me back in December-late january. The guy that left the voicemail claimed his last name was Anderson couldn't understand his first name because of his stupid Indian accent. Anyway he claim that there are 3 charges against my social security number from a company called CashNetUsa. And that it is a very serious matter and if I didn't take care of the debt I would be facing jail time. I had already done some research from the last time it happened which I almost fell for by the way. My searching paid off because im not the only person that they have tried to scam.So some information that I found out is basically to beat them at their own idiotic game. Let them know that you aren't afraid of them and if those charges are true you want it in black and white in your hand and if they don't give it to you by a certain date, you want their address so that you may contact them yourself through mail. This is usually where they want to sound professional by saying that their company is with modern times therefore no longer practices communication through "snail mail" this is where you say I either get it in the mail or the situation gets taken to the next level because this is not going to be handled lightly. If they continue to harass you let them know that you are going to inform your personal lawyer and you will provide the voicemails they have left, the company they claim to be representing, and the numbers that they claim you can reach them at, then once you're done providing that information to your lawyer you are then going to contact the Federal Trades Commission to file a complaint, then you are going to contact your local authorities, and finally you are going to report them to the FBI for investigation. And also let them know that from now on when they call you are going to be prepared to record any and every message that they leave you an that that goes for any future conversations you may have with them. NEVER NEVER NEVER CONFIRM THE INFORMATION THAT THEY HAVE ON YOU, EVEN IF IT MAY BE TRUE, THIS ALSO GOES FOR THE REFERENCE INFO THAT THEY MAY HAVE. After hanging up with them it is in your best interest to really act on this and report it as soon as possible. I was intimidated the first time, that was my first mistake I made up for it by informing myself about these lame Indians who have nothing better to do than to scam good people from their hard earned money. I hope they rot in hell for all that they have done to innocent people.

Received a call from this number 1 hour ago.  Was told that there are 3 "outstanding legal charges against my name and social"  Caller said his name was James Franklin of ACS of the "Law Dept of United States".  I have been scammed of about $5000.00 since October by various people with this same story not realizing that they are scams.  Not even going to call this guy back--if this is true they can contact me via good old "snail mail"!

DON'T ANSWER IT!  The guy was told he had the wrong number, then said he wanted to f*ck me slowly and f*ck my ***hole.  I am not kidding.  My husband was there and he heard it because I put it on speaker phone.  He would not give the name of the company or anything.  They called me 3 times yesterday (5/9/11).
