Got a call from this number a few minutes ago, which I didn't answer since there was no identifying information on the Caller ID (just the number).  Here's the message (courtesy of Vonage Visual Voicemail):

"Hello this message is for [my name]. [First name], my name is Mary and I'm calling from eight by eight. We're the leader in voice over Internet protocol phone system. I'm following up because you recently downloaded our white paper from the enterprise guide website. Our white papers entitled twenty five business phone service features your business can't do without house(?) I've on making-sure(?) that you were able to access the white paper and also like be happy to answer any questions. My toll free direct number is 8664922087. Thank you for your time and have a great day. Bye."

The interesting thing is that I don't recall entering my info when I downloaded it, although I think I might have followed a link on LinkedIn to get to this white paper.  Scary, huh?

It is American Satellites, had to give number for promotion code, and wouldn't you know, they called immediately. Didn't bother to answer.

American Satellite caller id call asking the same questions credit card#-ss# and other info but doesn't want to answer questions like what kind of satellite service is this for-is this a monthly service or?, sounded like all they wanted was your information before you could say no then they would have your info anyways.
"YO" tried asking how they got my info and how do I get these calls to stop and they hung up too, this doesn't sound like any respectable retailer.Do you work for them is that how you know what these calls really are? Sounds more like their really looking for peoples information to use in some scam-scheme by the high pressure give me your info then I'll tell you what it's for cold call.

These people tried their best to get personal info from me and when I wouldn't give it to them they changed their tune.  They asked for my ss#, credit card #, and debitcard #.  That didn't work, so I was then instructed to go the next day and purchase a pre-paid Visa or Master Card for $10 and call them back with the acc't #.  They were trying to sell me a Dish Network subscription.  Said they need credit info because they install $1000 of equipment and then all of us crooked people sell it on eBay.  I smelled a scam and called the state attorney generals office.  I hope they get run out of town on a rail.  The state and feds are after them.

No one seems to know what company they work for, I feel like I have been harassed by your company. The numbers I are 408-329-4138 and 917-517-512-3003. dish network maybe... but i think something like american satellites- its a collaboration of cable providers i believe.

it's a retail seller of dish and direct. it's a legit company selling on behalf of the other two. all you have to do is ask them to transfer you to the no call list and then punch in your number. they don't want to be bothered by ppl who dont want the service as much as you dont want to be bothered either.

I am so sick of these unwanted calls. Some of them are frauders trying to get your banking information. I learned the other day when one called regarding Chase Bank. I contacted Chase and they said they did not call me and they do not offer any such nonsense. Please be careful do not give out any of your information. They are trying to commit "Identity Theft"!

FILLED OUT A QUOTE FROM DISH NETWORK, WITHIN MIN THIS CALL CAME THROUGH 2 TIMES BUT I DIDNT ANSWER AND THEY DIDNT LEAVE ANY MESSAGE

I got a call from this number after asking for a quote for Dish Network online.  I thought it was a legit call at first. The person tried to get my SSN, all nine digits, and he was real sneaky about it.  At that point I just hung up.

I don't know anyone in these cities, and I'm sure none of my friends do. Besides, they wouldnt do that to me.

It's a call center.  And it appears to be in India.

It's name (caller ID) is CALLEXPAND.  They did not pick your phone number at random.  Typically, a recent purchase you made automatically put you on a "potential buyer list" as many times your purchase information is sold to both junk mail and Tele-harassment companies.

Then, since Tele-harassment is done by computer dialing machines you can't begin the steps of their process of stopping the calls without talking to the caller.

I just got a call from that number didnt answer the first call and they called back right away and left a message and it was dish network. they sent an email about how cheap their service was and to get a quote. I did it for the quote and it told me to call a number for it.

this # called both my cellphones one right after the other, not recognizing the area code, I hit ignore (I love that button!)and they didn't leave a message but after checkin with ya'll I see it's just an annoying a** telemarketer! Thanks ya'll!

This number called me at 11:30pm at Night to sell me an insurance card!!!! SCAM!!!! I'm on the DO NOT CALL LIST TOO!!!  WTF?????

Looked at an e-mail for a dish network ad.. filled out form for a quote.. got a call from 408-329-4138 in about two minutes. They were trying to sell me a dish network subscription but wanted a credit card for identification purposes.. I told them I was calling the BBB on them. I called an (866) Dish Network number and they said they didn't use that prefix. Its definitely a scam operation.

I do not appreciate being called when I am on the do-not-call list, especially without so much as a message to inform me as to why I'm being called in the first place.  This number called me twice within a two-minute period so I do not know what the call was for, but the calls came through at 10:24am and 10:25am on the same day.

Called 4 times immediately in a row. Did not leave message.

called asked for my husband said he signed up for some dish network... he never did. i told him did he realize he was calling at 10pm..and i hung up on him

I am on a no calls list.  Answering machine took the call. A man was telling a woman in the background, "I got an answering machine"  Lots of commotion in the background. Hung up, and called again, but left no message.

Got a call offering Cable/Satellite Tv for $45.00 a month.  Sounded shady.
