Same thing happened here.  Craigslist response with picsoft link from javameanbean@mail.com.

received a texed message from 408-337- 0791 Ref. CL Ad wanted will not travel more than an hour from home to get. I'm in WI. this is CA. Photos at picsoft.org ID:715wtm, must make a download to view. My PC security stoped it with a statement of HIGH RISK!! aborted download.
This is SPAM or Virus.......

Exactly same as above, only I live in Florida. Yesterday, I got about the same message and same address to visit. Foolish enough, I tried to download the "GIMP Viewer", which of course is everything else than a photo viewer. Luckily, the virus-program caught it, so it never installed. I wish I could do more to stop people like this, sitting on their stupid computers doing idiotic stuff that makes decent people having to worry. If one of you bugs read this, make a choice and do something useful for once

I have a Craiglist ad up to sell my motorcycle.  About two minutes ago, I get a text from this number saying the following:  "Hi, I saw your CL ad, my boyfriend wants one same type as this <pic-attach> http://photo-host.net/?photo=419MBV - Is it the same type?  Buying him 1 this week."  I went to my PC and typed in the link, it was to a site that looks like a photo hosting site (i.e.:  Photobucket, Flickr, or Instagram).  However, the uploaded photos are all supposedly in gimp file format (which I've never personally heard of before).  I did not click to download the "free gimp player."  By reading the other comments here, that was a good decision.  I'm not a fan of Malware anymore than the rest of you.  I looked up the number (408) 337-0791, which is where the text came from, and saw that it was from the Santa Clara County, California area.  That's up there by San Francisco, Santa Clara, Gilroy, and the like.  I'm down in the Kern County, California area (Bakersfield region).  Y'all be careful.  I will as well.

I got a text from this number bc of an add I had on craiglist saying they were a girlfriend wanting to but my item for their boyfriend and had a link with pictures asking if this was the same product. Luckily my phone couldn't upload the pictures. searched the number and found its a California number. I'm no where near California, plus no response back after I told them it wouldn't load. I hope it doesn't gain access to my person phone info. Is this possible since I clicked the link but no pictures would load?

Responded to ad on craigslist with me too. Where are the freakin authorities at????? Hunt this one down and shut them down. Would love to listen to this one on 20/20 one night....Reporting this number to the proper authority myself.

I posted an ad on Craigslist looking for a car and to make payments. 408-337-0791 texted me with a website link that has malware attached. AVOID AND DELETE THE TEXT!

Don't download programs from the link that this person sends you; responds to all craigslist listing and expects you to download a program in order to view photos but instead you download a virus.

yup got same thing, sent text to my phone and i looked it up and my spyware caught it. some one should run a trace on this scum bag.

I posted to CL looking for rims, got a text not long after post hit w/ the same site to go to.  Nothing came up for me to view, and wouldn't you know my firewall screamed Melicious Site.  DO NOT go to the photo site it gives you....

Was in response to a craiglist ad. texted me a link to a photo storage site. when you attempt to DL the viewing program youll get hit about 3 times with malware. Luckily my AV caught it all.
