i got a call from these people today, same story, very thick accent that you cannot understand, let alone heare because of all the background noise, said i had a cash advance for 300 and have not paid it back...which is not true...they continued to state that i have criminal charges against me and a officer will be at my home within 2 hours to arrest me and take me to the courthouse and i will be fined up to 15000.00.
i immediately contacted my bank, local police, and put  a freeze on my credit report.
when i contacted my bank they wanted to listen to the first message these crazies left me so they did and we then proceeded to call them back...we harrassed them and they again stated that an officer will be at my home to arrest me in 2 hours...guess what, i am still waiting for them to arrest me!
people can get anything they want on the web.  the more technology we have the worse it gets!!

dont do anything these people are asking you to do on the phone!

ITS A SCAM!!!!!!!

They will begin CUSSING.. they never answer the phone the correct way, then they will put an answering machine on to answer calls but it is TOO FULL for you to leave a message. ALL OF THIS IS A SCAM and not worth your worry.

This number called me also, left a very threatening message. Tried the number today -- 2-13-12 -- the number is now temporarily unavailable. My local sheriff's office told me (when I called to report the number) that these scam artists will use a number for a month or so and then disconnect it and get a new number to call from. Sometimes it is prepaid phones. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY MONEY!

He's an extortionist.  He's threatening criminal prosecution to enforce a civil debt.  I don't know what the rules are in India, or wherever he's calling from, but here, we put extortionists in jail.  Except in those places out West, where they take 'em out back and shoot 'em.  What a moron.

Received a call saying a friend was suspect in a case in the state of texas and to return the call as soon as possible and relay the message to the friend. He knew both parties by name the receiver of the call and the friend (who was actually a sister) the number has called recently and never left voice mails until the most recent call. Total scam.

these ppl been calling me for about a week or so and threatning me that if i dont pay back a cash loan of 400 dollars from a cash advanced company they were gonna send the police to my house. the man called me back at 2pm and i told him i paid the loan off earlier and started cussing me out cause i didnt pay it through them, so i hung up. and now supposedly someone from the "BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU" is calling from a private number. i made a report to the trade comission and i called my bank, so i hope they have fun harrasing somene else who eventually will give them a rude awakening.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010  FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim?s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims? relatives, friends, and employers.

Some fraudsters have instructed victims to fax a statement agreeing to pay a certain amount, on a specific date, via a pre-paid Visa card. The statement further declares the victim will never dispute the debt.

If you receive these calls, do not follow the caller?s instructions. Rather, you should:

?Notify your banking institutions.
?Contact the three major credit bureaus and request an alert be put on your file.
?Contact your local law enforcement agencies if you feel you are in immediate danger.
?File a complaint at www.IC3.gov.
Tips to avoid becoming a victim of this scam:

?Never give your Social Security number?or personal information of any kind?over the telephone or online unless you initiate the contact.
?Be suspicious of any e-mail with urgent requests for personal financial information. The e-mail may include upsetting or exciting but false statements to get you to react immediately.
?Avoid filling out forms in e-mail messages that request personal information.
?Ensure that your browser is up-to-date and security patches have been applied.
?Check your bank, credit, and debit card statements regularly to make sure that there are no unauthorized transactions. If anything looks suspicious, contact your bank and all card issuers.
?When you contact companies, use numbers provided on the back of cards or statements

I received calls from this number numerous times. I read these posts and decided to call back. I then informed "Michael wright" that he owed a debt and that I needed his sen immediately or the officers would arrest his mother... He gave me a bogus credit card number... And I continued calling back until I got the same person and kept demanding money.... They havent called back.

A man called with very thick accent.  Said I needed to get with my manager and work and he then said my dads name. A which is scared because my father has been dead for over 12 years.  Somehow they have my name and address.  I wasn't scared though. I told them to come get me.  They said they would show up tomorrow and i said "good, cause I am in the mood to kick someone's a**, so why not yours ??" he then started to cuss at me and asked if I wanted to suck his &&&&.  I said "why would I settle for a little &&&& when I had your dad last night.". I told him he didn't scare me and I dared him to come by.  He said he would arrest my manager until I paid back 517.00.  I said come arrest my manager I hate him and he deserves to spend sometime in jail. The guy on the other end realized he couldn't scare me.  I finally said "see you tomorrow when you arrest me, I can't wait to kick your a**." and I hung up. Scamming idiots.

Told me they were going to come and arrest me and my manager for a non payment of loans.  I said "cool, I hate my manager, come and get us ". He then started asking me if I was a bi*** and wanted to suck his c@ck.  I told him why would I settle for a little c@ck from a low life like you.  He then proceeded to yell and swear and called me a bi*** again.  I said " yes I am a bi***, that is going to bi*** slap you and kick your a**" I then hung up on him.  Could barely understand what he was saying. Very bad English.n

These people called me and told me that I owe 498.00 on a payday loan.  If I didn't pay, they were gonna have police meet me at my address or work and escort me to courthouse.  I got his information.  The representative that called me was Dominique Hernando - I think.  He had thick accent and there was a lot of noise in the background.  I told him that I was going to call him back.  I checked this number on computer and found all of this scam info.  Of course, I was scared.  I knew I didnt have this debt, but was still scared.  Almost thought about paying because I didnt want them coming on my job.

Had a call from 408-624-1166. Left a very threatening message. The man named "chad" had a very thick accent. Lots of background noise when I called back. I have called back many times with my number blocked. They will begin to cuss at you, use a different language and also begin having an answering machine pick up the calls. I call several times a day just to annoy them because what they are doing is ILLEGAL & THREATENING & WRONG.... THIS IS A SCAM. Within in a month, the number will be disconnected. DO NOT RESPOND to their threats, DO NOT GIVE any money or personal information to them. Report them to your state's attorney general office.
