Got a call from this number. I didn't answer, no message left! I'm sick of calls like this! Based on other people, this is a scammer. Everybody.....block them or report them please.

Not sure who is scummier. These do***ebags who call and not leave voice mails, or gun owners who think more guns make us safer. Received a call from this number a few moments ago. Of course no one answered when I picked up the phone. I normally report these calls to the FBI as terrorists calls. The FBI is tired of hearing from me. Maybe if more of us call the FBI, maybe some action will be taken.

Called me 9:20am. I didnt answer and they left no VM. also it was a cell number from san jose

Received a call; pressed '1' to speak with an assistant.  I asked to speak with a manager and was disconnected immediately.

Called with a credit card interest rate lowering automated message.  Did not specify which card.  Hung up immediately after automated message completed.  Tried to call back, call immediately was disconnected.  Strange!

Spam call to lower interest rates.  Spoke to an operator, told her to stop calling me on my cell phone, she promptly hung up on me.

Called my cell. It was an automated call from Heather at Account Services, wanting to lower my interest rates. I just hung up because NO one other then family has my cell number! ScumBag Scammers!

They left me a message saying their credit card company wanted to lower my APR to 6.9% but when I told them I would call them back thru the 800# on my credit card because we were driving thru the mountains, a supervisor gets on the line asks me what the problem was & I said I'll call them back on the # that's on my card because I don't feel comfortable giving them my personal account info. & he hung up.

Got a call from this number 11-9-12. Did not pickup.
They did not leave a message.

Got a call from 408  880 8215.  Did not answer as was in meeting.

Called left no message

Thanks for the posts.  If you have an android smart phone, by the call blocking app  $5 and you can add to the block list forever.  With iphone I could not find one.  You to pay your provider a monthly fee.

Thanks for all the ideas in your great post.  Please copy/paste it everywhere!  This is the best gathering I've seen anywhere of knowlege about this annoying and wasteful new practice.  A lot of good links, too, but please, you must get it that few of us have the time or wherewithal to begin a private campaign against these "scum."  It seems like, in the end, I only have three ways to deal with the new wave of robocalls to both my cell & landline phones: 1) don't answer unknown numbers, 2) hang up, 3) hassle blocking the number so they can't call again.  

As you suggest, I'm not a believer in the whistle/air horn!  It's usually a recording anyway.  

My carrier charges an additional $5 for "call blocking service" and I'd have to go to the trouble of entering it into the phone.  Still, I'd do it if I could since repeat calls are pretty likely to happen - I guess if I don't answer then my number gets put on the "call him again" list.  On the other hand, some of the robocalls I've answered call me again as well.

Can't hurt to get on the "do not call" list then start reporting these calls, but you've gotta admit that that's additional hassle.  Multiply the huge number of calls they make times all the people that block them on their phone (or go to donotcall.gov to add their number) and you've got a HUGE amount of wasted productivity.

It used to be nice when my cell, at least, didn't get these, but it's become too cheap of a way to get sales leads.  But now it seems like we are beginning to see an attitude change.  It's gotten so big that people are talking about it, and when I hear it they sound really pissed!  This may be just beginning to become obnoxious enough that there will be more public outcry for laws to get tougher on these wasteful and irritating calls.  Grassroots action will help, but my guess is that newer laws and better enforcement will come through our various legislatures.  It will take a few bird-doggers in legislatures and at some point the telemarketers will have to find a new workaround.  Which they will.  Still, I'm waiting for the day!

Again, thanks for your knowledge and efforts.  This is truly an important cause, unlike most of them.

I received a phone call from this number today on my cell phone.  I did not answer, but My number is listed on the do not call list.  I am always driving tractors or other big equipment and can not be bothered with phone calls on  my cell phone that are not involved in my operation.  Can't you do something about this problem

Got a recorded call about lowering my interest rte on a credit card.  I reported it to the Do Not Call Registry.

Number just called my cell like 5 minutes ago. Didn't answer. Just 411-ed it online and found it from San Jose CA. I don't know ANYONE there. So I know it has to be telemarketing or something. Let it go to voicemail. I hate that crap.
