I got the exact same message. I feeled out loan applications and about 1 month later I got a call from Jake Dawson. I thank you guys for the info on this sand flea. I was worried to death about what it could be. Does anyone have steps on protecting myself now that my info is out there?

This guy is laughable. "Officer Michael Black" is a joke. Pretends to be a number of people who work there, but it's clearly the same guy with the same heavy accent using different voices. I've gotten these scam calls before (don't know why or how they get my job info, but it was so humiliating to call my job and tell a colleague that I better call today or they will arrest me. I already knew when she gave me that message the second I got to work was a red flag. No police officer would do that, besides, I'M A LAW ABIDING CITIZEN so I knew it was crap. So I step outside to call back and the "officer" is rude and tells me they're sending the cops. To one-up up the idiot, I say "sure, do you know where to send them to?", so he hangs up and I call back, demanding the company name to report harassment. After about 2 tries, they no longer answer so I use my friend's phone to call and a "woman" answers. I demand to know the name of the supposed company and "it" can't tell me until I give my name so I give a bogus one and they hang up. They then call my friend's phone back and asks for the bogus name I gave with "bi***" as the last name. So I say "this is she" and the guy proceeds to yell vulgar sexual insults and tells me what he wants to do to me. I was so disgusted that I called the cops on his dumb as. Be sure to report these numbers. The officer came out and took my statement and tried to call the number, but SHOCKING, no answering. Please don't pay these people anything out of fear. They've tricked my friend this way and she lost a lot of money. Challenge them! It will stop the calls because they will see that their schemes won't work on you.

I just got a call from this Middle Easterner claiming to be Officer Michael Smith from the Federal Trade Commission. Michael Smith? You can't be more original than that? Also, I don't know many people named Michael Smith  with a very heavy Arabic accent. Are we really supposed to believe that The FTC would employ an officer who barely speaks English?

I am former law enforcement and knew he was a fraud the minute I answered my phone. He even had the audacity to give me a case # and the three charges filed against me. What a joke.

Received a call from this number from an Officer Mike Johnson at the Federal Debt Commission.  His message indicates they have several charges against me and it would be in my best interest for myself or my attorney to contact him immediately.  If i do not reply, he wishes me luck as this situation unfolds onto me.  Couldn't really understand him, thick indian accent.  Googled Federal Debt Commission and 1st result is an ALERT: Possible Mortgage Modification Scam.  "Mike Johnson" is listed as one of the persons involved with this scam.  

caller called my work and left a message for me to call him asap  and his name is mike black,i don't know who he is so he can stop calling me.if he calls again I am going to call the police.

This scammer claims to be from the Federal Trade Commission and incorrectly pronounces/spells the name he is looking for.  Extremely thick accent, he does not understand English well, but continues to call.

Ridiculos treating... Crazy... How do I stop this?

I had the same thing happen an man with a thick indian accent called me and did not even use proper legal terminology claiming he worked for the FTC and that he would come to my job and home to arrest me if he did not hear back from me and told me good luck.  Luckly I am a paralegal and I know a scam when I hear it.  I also filed a claim with the federal trade commission.

Calls your job and says you owe 1800 dollars and if you can't pay today he will send an officer to your job to put you behind bars. Says he's federal trade commission. Doesn't give a direct company name. Started to call after applying for payday loans online. Says he is a debt collector but demands payment of full amount. After researching, he has called many people and demanded money under fake debt reasons.

I also received the same phone call today from "Officer Michael Black" claiming to be from the Federal Trade Commission at my place of employment! Also, received a voice mail from him before that on my cell phone. It is a scam!!! I have reported them to the official FTC. The week before this I had a woman with an Indian accent call my place of work 33 times!!! I reported this to the local police department. These people have to stop!!! Their threats are horrible!!

Just received a voice mail message from "Officer Michael Black" with an Eastern Indian accent.  Claiming to be from the Federal Trade Commission.  Should have looked this number up before I called him back because I already suspected it to be some sort of SCAM!!! AND I WAS RIGHT, just like all the comments on this website!  He had me so upset with his threats, even after I knew they were a SCAM! That I am shaking right now!  Hope he rots with the trash he is in a dump!!!!!!!

Just received a call from 409-539-7357 pretending to be a worker names Michael Black from the FCC. I contacted the police in Galveston, TX where the call originated from and also my local police. Thick foreign accent, cant even correctly pronounce a simple name. Advised me that the cops were coming to arrest me in 45 mins because of a crime committed with my personal information. Wow, theses people are pathetic. Bottom feeding losers. Something needs to be done NOW, this is a crime. These people need to be placed in jail and hopefully become bait for some prisoners looking for middle eastern butt love.

Same call from Michael Black. Says he's going to have me arrested and fired from my job. He got very quiet when I asked him if he wanted to talk to my boss who was right next to me. Told me that he would keep calling and I said go right ahead. Told him I filed a complaint against them and it didn't even phase him. It's a total scam, do not worry about anything if they call. He uses a few different names to.

I contacted my attorney. he advised not to worry! It is already recognized as a scam

I had an officer Michel Black call me.. I get these calls all the time... at first I was scared but now I am not... I have seeked legal advice in which told me I habe a good harassment case that I could win if I filed

Call saying i owe a loan. Which i know i don't keep calling like 5 or 6 times a day. calls my job. Really harrassing me and my family. Calls saying this is michael black and jake jackson pretending to be cops. I was tolded to call the police dept, when they call again.

The Indian accented guy keeps calling my wife' boss claiming he is an officer and needs to  talk to my wife about some criminal fraud activity she is involved in.  This is the second number that the same individual has called from.  Why is our DOJ finding these morons.  Spend time protecting consumers instead of givng away arms and guns to foreign countries Mr. Holder.

Got a whistle or boat fog horn? If not get one.. then answer and give him a good blast, hang up and never answer his calls again..  do quick pickups and hang ups asap when the number rings through.  Hopefully you have reported these calls too.

the same thing just happened at 11 pm my time and said it unfolds on me and criminal activity on my social security and that I will be arrested.  he said his name was officer michael black from the federal crime network.  he isnt even from this country.  they call and leave alot of messages and told me to have my attorney to call.  I already called the ftc and reported it and called the sheriff to report it they both said they r scams.  He dont even speak english.  they call me 5 times a day.

I receive a call from this person.  He called my work number as well as my cell phone. When I spoke with him I call him a bottom feeder and told him that he was a scam and he said that he was coming to my job to get me and I told him that he did not have my address and he said that he did and I called him a bottom feeder again and  I told him that I was going to report him and he HUNG UP!!! he was upset so I started laugh.  They get your information off the payday loans that you fill out on line.  I will not do this ever again, because you get these bottom feeders that can't speak english and they bother you to no end becasue they keep calling but eventually they do go away.  Like one of the comments said you can entertain or just let the phone ring.  It is up  to you.

You should still file reports! Sometimes the other country's will co-operate with ours and bust these guy's.. a report is better then no report at all!

These morons are calling me now. It's hilarious to hear them say that they are from the state police department when they have to pause to look at what state they are calling. And even more hilarious to hear them say their names are Jake Jackson and Spencer Brady and Michael Black and Deputy Watson with their big thick accents! HAHAHAHA! I am not stupid enough to buy into their messages and call them back. I did, however, start to report them to local law enforcement for impersonating officers but realized it would do no good since they are calling from over seas. Curse you online PDL's! haha

how do you lock down your credit? i applied for a loan and then started getting these calls. i am not stupid enough to believe these idiots but i don't want them getting any further with this!

the same thing is happeing to me, i am writning all thier numbers down, he told me his name was robert wilson yea with an idian accent, these people need to be caught and taught a lesson. the other numbers they keep calling from are 3474415990,4016487436,401216665, and the most recent one is 5102271812.

I received a call from this number he claimed to be Officer Jake Dawson stating I need to call him something about crime committed under my ss# and phone number so I looked number up I seen this oh and also a Smith's Law Firm Shares the same number out of Texas.

A GENTLEMAN KEEPS CALLING MY WORK STATING HE IS OFFICER WILLIAMS SAYING I OWE THEM $450.00 THE NUMBER COMES UP AS GALVESTON TX HOWEVER, HE GAVE ME THE ADDRESS OF 600 PENNSYLVANIA AVE WASHINGTON DC. I TOLD HIM TAHT I WAS GOING TO CALL THE POLICE ON HIM FOR HARASSMENT AND HE LAUGHED AT ME AND SAID I WILL GET  YOU FIRED FROM YOUR JOB NO PROBLEMS AND I WILL TELL THE POLICE TO ARREST  YOU RIGHT ON THE SPOT.

Yea this Jack Dave or Dawson, whatever he said, said the same as the rest of the complaints.  However the fool called me on Memorial Day. As we all know that's a major federal/national holiday and no government office is open.
