Who is it?

Called at 2:55 pm and 8:05 pm on 4/28/08.  They will not leave a message.  When I return the call, the recording says the number has been disconnected.

I have gotten about twenty calls from this outfit in the past 6 weeks.  Some are from 410-256-8282, and some are from 804-693-4205.  They all represent themselves as Maryland State Lending Network.  Typical Indian accent trying to get you to take a call from their supervisor to refinance a mortgage.  Any reverse phone info gives Parkville, as the MD location and Gloucester as the VA site.  Would love to find out who these people really are because they don't take no for an answer.

unwanted calls must stop

I've been hit by calls from these same guys for months, ever since I started looking into refinancing my house. It's been a different phone number each time (except today, twice from this number.) Each time they ask to speak to the owner of the house. (which is a pretty unprofessional way to begin a sales call for a refinancing) I tell them you've called an office, and I've already refinanced, so please take me off your list, but they keep on calling. Once, as mentioned by an earlier post, the telemarketer said he would call me every day after I complained about the calls. (Might be the same guy who, asked me, "Are you deaf?" when I said Hello? Hello? Hello? after I picked up the phone and no one was on the other line.) I don't know who these people are, but they're up to no good, and should be denied telephone service, if not prosecuted.

Caller is rude and threatening.  Very poor english and told me that I didn't speak good english.  I asked to removed from his list and that I would report him and he just started laughing and said he would call me every day.

If you look at the reported calls from this number, he appears to be nuts.

When you dial this number, it says disconnected.  Is he somehow circumventing the system and showing a false number on my caller ID?

Hi to all, we have gotten 2 calls from this same guy today and when I told him that I was going to report him, he just started laughing and said he would harrass me every day.  My phone shows the same number as you guys.  410-256-8252.  When I dialed it, it says disconnected?  When you do a reverse phone check, it shows as Parkville Maryland.  That number is with Verizon and I am calling them tomorrow.

I understand everyones frustration. I just received another call from this #41-256-8282 came up on my caller id as Maryland. Which I live in Maryland also. When the indian guy asked can I speak to the owner of the house. So I am guessing a Mortgage company? I asked who was calling and he said again can I speak to owner of house? I stated no one here that owns so he said oh and hung up...how rude!! So I tried to call the # back and gee this is a surprise .... message says the # has been disconnected hmmmm how? This looks like the same # I keep registering on the do not call list OMG will it ever stop? I even have our # not listed and pay extra money to the phone company for that. Any one else experience this? Have a great evening... it is pretty said when we get calls late and on weekends I am ready to disconnect my phone!

I used to get a lot of calls from mortgage companies with people with Indian accents and American names until I started a mantra.  "I don't have a mortgage."  That has decreased the majority of phone calls.

same mortgage company has been calling for months.  indian person, claims to be in US.  registered this number with do not call.  and i am registered too.  but what good does it do?  Someone help me!
