AMVETS is a scam. They are not a legitimate charity. Do not donate to these con artists. Look them up. They never follow any of the recommended govt guidelines for telemarketing. I get called multiple times every day.

I keep getting calls from this organization, *69 has (410) 327-5900 which got a fast busy, I called (410) 327-5901, (410) 327-5902, (410) 327-5903, (410) 327-5904, (410) 327-5905, (410) 327-5906 up to (410) 327-5949 so they have 50 lines to call back on, once they got 3 calls from my home, I got a fast busy, then I called from my Cell, then my wife's Cell, then my work, FINALLY I got a call from a 'manager' asking me to stop calling.  I said REALLY, DOES IT SUCK GETTING CALLS OVER AND OVER"? and it stopped

This caller almost never leaves a message, but occasionally claims to represent AmVets and claims to have a truck in my area. I believe they'd like to have a truck in my area, but I can't throw them any farther than that.

Well, they are still in business.  They call and stay on the line long enough to trigger a 2 second VM.  We are on the DNC list which of course does no good.

Called and left partial message asking for donation.

We have AT@T bundled service and a call came in this morning from the United Nations.  The prefix on our TV was 212.  I did not get the rest of the number.  I answered the call and the person was asking if we had a microsoft computer that needed service.  I could hardly understand and he hung up on me.

Our caller ID on telephone said that the number was 410-327-5900, which is not the United Nations.

The caller ID says "Central Donations", but if you look their phone number up in the phone book or online, they're listed as "Central Telemarketing".

I have received thousands of calls from these nitwits over the past 25 years.  Most of the time they are soliciting funds for some notional "Multiple Sclerosis" charity.

I get a lot of calls from this number, with 'Ctrl Donation S' as CID. Caller - always someone sounding tired and sad - sometimes leaves a message saying they were call for clothing donations, sorry they missed me. I've saved the number to the phone book with 'no ring' selected as the ring tone.

The Caller ID said CTRL DONATION. I answered out of curiosity, and got a recorded message from a woman who said she was calling on behalf of AmVet, and if I live in the Baltimore or Washington area I should call an 800 number which I didn't bother writing down. Weird. Now the solicitors expect me to initiate the call so they can solicit money or donations to them.

Folks, all you need to do is to go to www.digitone.com and get a Call Blocker.  Cost: about $100.00 with shipping.  Benefit: BLESSED SILENCE on your phone if you do as I have done.

1. Install Call Blocker.
2. Turn on the "First Ring Suppression" feature (you won't even hear the phone ring until Call Blocker recognizes the caller as one you have expressly permitted.)
3. Turn on the "Block ALL CALLERS" feature.  This one stops ALL INCOMING CALLS unless they are on your PERMITTED CALLER list.  You can have 60 numbers on that list.
4. YOU'RE DONE.  Now, none of these various A***OLES can get through to you.

I too receive calls from this number with no response from the caller.  I have learned NOT to answer any call that shows "unknown name" on the caller ID.

I answered with the company greeting, and the woman on the other end asked if this was a business, and I said yes. She then said OK, sorry and that she had a wrong # then hung up. Our new line used to be a residental #.

Call was from someone in a medium security prison in Iowa.

They call me constantly.  At least 2 or 3 times a week; sometimes twice a day.  I never answer calls unless I know the person or organization calling.  You would think they would give up.  Unfortunately, I don't think there is any way to enforce the existing laws, since they steal numbers from dead people, use fake numbers (like 000-000-0000 and others) and just don't care how obtrusive they are.
  I am elderly and have a hard time jumping up out of chairs to get my phone.  Even if I don't answer, I have to go see who is calling in case it is a grandchild.  And sometimes, I will get a string of 4 and 5 calls in a row -- spaced just far enough apart to go and sit down again.  I would give up my phone if I dared, but my son won't let me.

While they may be unbound by the laws of the almighty do-not-call list.. They are still in violation of utilizing Robo-Dialers against FTC Enforcement Legalities. That's a 500$ Fine per/call if caught.

Unfortunately, charities are exempt from the Do Not Call List.  If the government is going to have a 'do not call' list, they need to ENFORCE IT!

I have rproted this organization ofr the ninth or tenth time to the FTC.  I reproted this organization again, just a few minutes ago, this evening to the FTC.

The same number has called for donation from Veterans, children funds, soup ktichens etc.  In my opinion they are corroks out of Blatimore!

I got a call from 410-327-5900. They left a voice mail that said "Is this my daughter calling" . Then another voice said " This might be her doctors office". Very odd messages from a charity place.

I keep getting calls from the number 4103275900 and it come up as Central Donations. They called last night at 8:15pm. I picked up she asked if I wanted to donate I said NO and it is to late to call. She said in a nasty tone that she did not call me that it was an automatic dial-er and hung up on me.

Been getting several calls from this number with no messages left.  Scumbags!

I've got this number blocked and received a call from it earlier with "1" in front, then the number. That's an 'international calling code' for Canada. This has gone on for years and they don't stop.
