I didn't answer but also noted another number listed on caller ID under this one: 240-212-0217.

Scam have 2 phone when call, this ID show 410-401-7030, but the phone is 240-212-2016

Caller I.D. lists only the phone number. JERKS call and hang up on my business answering machine.  This ties up my phone and wastes my time.  I would never do anything with anonymous strangers-answer questions, etc.They are covering up their identity for a reason and not matter what they say, it could be a lie.  Best is to create a JERK list and not answer the calls in the future.  You have the Internet for any information you want to find and you don't need info from JERKS.

As a bonus, don't forget to put them on hold at the end "to get your credit card, or ask your spouse, or etc." and see how long they wait before they hang up.

Either you got a call or you didn't!! Jeeze, people do not just "sort-of call" someone!!

I received a call from this number today.....sort of......like other postings above indicated, this phone number showed up in caller ID where you would normally see the name of the person or company calling you.  The phone number that displayed was (434)210-3213.  If you "Google" that phone number, there are other postings about problems with them too.  These area codes are from the Maryland and Virginia area but they could be "spoofs".  I didn't answer the call......never do if I don't know who it is on the caller ID display and no message was left.

These clowns keep calling.  I wait for the operator to come on the line and then tell them, in graphic detail, what my college fraternity did to their mothers.  Most hang up, but a few get real offended.  That's when I say, "This is your prize for making illegal calls" and hang up.

Whenever I get a call from a telemarketer, I let them go through their whole spiel, whatever it is, for as long as possible, then after sounding really interested the whole time, act like I'm having second thoughts.  The goal is let them waste as much time as possible.

I don't answer calls from strangers, they're usually peddlers trring to get you to pick up so they can give you a pitch. I just thought it was interesting that this number was displayed in the NAME field on the caller ID and the number display had 540-277-0016.  Posts under number show it to be the same caller.  Strange.

Got a call from these people just now. Oddly enough, this phone number appeared in the "name" portion of my caller ID, while the other phone number associated with this "company" came up in the actual number part of the Caller ID. O.o I did not pick up so I didn't know who they were until coming to this site to check on them.

Security Solutions calls daily to offer me a FREE device to summon police, fire, ambulance.  I've told them I'm on the National Do Not Call Registry at the FTC.  Their response: "What's that?"  Well, the FTC won't do anything about them.  My congressman can't do anything about it.  The local sheriff department can't do anything about it.  The phone service will sell me a subscription to call block.  Why is the FTC being paid our tax dollars if they are impotent to handle these harrassing companies?
