I was just called by this so called Luke Johnson badge no. 6162 from California State Police Department Headquarters.  He said that Jason Washington has filed a complaint against me. He gave 410-415-3841 to call to find out what the complaint was about.  When my daughter called the number back to speak to this Jason character the person who answered put her on hold for a long time.  When someone finally returned she told them that she was my power of attorney and wanted to know what the complaint was for, she was put on hold again and no one every returned.  They got my number from loan applications I filled out over the internet.  People be careful about what you do over the internet there are a lot of nuts in the world.  Including me for trying to get a loan over the internet.

Prank Call
I just received a call from this bunch too.  Original call showed "911" as caller ID (neat trick).  Pakastani female, very heavy accent, told me there was a fraud warrant for my arrest and I needed to contact the state police immediately at 410 number and ask for "Randy Smith".  Out of curiosity, I called the 410 number, asked for "Randy Smith" and the heavily accented Pakastani male who answered the phone immediately claimed to be "Randy Smith".  I made the comment that he didn't sound like a "Randy  Smith", don't think he appreciated my humor. He recited my social security number AND the name of the bank where I have an account. I denied the info and it really ticked him off. The idiot tried to get me to pay him $429 to avoid a "fraud warrant" for my arrest.  When I told him I didn't have a payday loan and this sounded a little too fishy to me, and it's illegal to impersonate a police officer he became highly upset and hung up on me.  Think I'll visit my District Attorney in the morning.

These people called me and said i have a warrant for my arrest for a payday loan that was never repaid,,,,first off, I'm never late and i know where every dollar i have goes and all online loan companies auto draft their money on set dates,so this is almost impossible to not pay a loan back,,,,anyway the names involved are,,, Jason Washington,Jack Dawson,,,i could go on but the point is,these are made up names, and totally bogus so anyone receiving these calls should report them right away,,,,,the # is 410 415 3841

They "spoof" numbers to make it look like they call from law enforcement.  Last I knew, law enforcement is not in the business of calling alleged debtors.  The scammers do this to scare you into paying money you don't owe.  Report the calls to the FTC, the FBI and your state's Attorney General.  When they call back - and they will - tell them that the FBI is recording, monitoring and tracing all calls the scammers make to you.  Hopefully this will get them to stop calling.

Remember - any time someone calls threatening you like this (illegal per the FDCPA) - keep calm and make sure you demand that debt validation letter via mail proving you owe the debt to them.  Law abiding collections agencies will have no problem mailing you this documentation.

Other than that, I'd say you should just let the calls go to voicemail, or assign the number a "no ring" so you don't hear them calling.  And if you haven't read up on the FDCPA, please do so - it really  helps you keep calm when you get calls like this.  All the best to you - don't let them freak you out anymore.  :)

Thank you so much for that information truly you settles my nerves and how scared I was 100%. I just don't understand how they can do this to so many people and get away with it that blows my mind. I also had told them I would call back at three when my mom gets off work to let them know what payments I could make today (when I still ha believed this was real) would you call them back and let them know I know what's up or just ignore them completely?

As in my answer above - remember - even if you did have an unpaid loan - debt is a civil matter, not criminal.  No one can be arrested for failing to pay back a loan.  Plus, no one gives a heads up that a person is going to be served court papers or arrested - the court process server and the police just show up.  Read the FDCPA and learn your rights as a consumer - learning will also help you weed out the scammers.  Also, NEVER pay anyone unless they have sent you a debt validation letter and documentation proving you owe a debt to them.  No proof of debt = no debt owed, per the FDCPA.

I received a voice mail message from a "sheriff's officer Patrick" from the Texas State Police Department telling me that there were fraud complaints in my name and to either turn myself in or I would be arrested at either my home or my place of business. He stated that if i wished to not have this happen than to call "Jack Dawson" at 410-415-3841 to settle this and ended his message with "have a blessed day"

Upon calling the number a gentleman answered the phone claiming to have called the FTC I said I had gotten a call from the texas state police and wanted to know why i had a complaint he said that he was indeed "Jack Dawson" and asked to put me on hold. After a 5 minute hold he gets back on the phone and says there are 3 complaints against me and my social security number; he also said he had ran checked in on my name and social and I had an extremely clean history(which i do). he stated the company that made the claim then asked if I wanted to settle out of court or fight in court and if I'm found guilty serve jail time. I told him i'd like to settle out of court and at first he said I would have to pay $454 and when I said I didn't have the money he asked my what I could afford. When I said nothing at the moment is there any way this can be deferred he got extremely rude and said that if i couldn't make $100 payments weekly or Bi-Weekly than there was no way he could help and the issue would have to be settled in court. I asked him if I could make some phone calls and see if I could get a payment figured out he told me that was fine but I needed to let him know if I could pay the $322 by the end of the day today or a warrant would be issued for my arrest tomorrow.

I believed it was real for a minute and called my mom and she's the one that looked up the number... thankfully  I didn't give them any personal information about myself except my name. The guy obviously couldn't even keep his story straight so that should of been another sign

I am a 19 year old who got a unknown call saying to call jack Dawson at 410-415-3841 so I called he said that I had three fraud cases against me and that I had an unpaid loan and I would need to pay four hundred and eighty some dollars today or I would have to appear in court when I began to ask him how I would pay he said he was going to issue a warrant and have the police at my door step and work, he knew all of my information. My boyfriend had said its a scammer bc I had filed for online loans and got calls from men with heavy accents just as "jack Dawson's" was. So I looked up his name and number and found this website I am so relieved to have read all of these reports on him and this Numer because I was a wreck and crying thinking cops were going to show up at my door step and that I would have to find a way to get all of this money somehow that I don't have by today, when I read these I was so relieved. This people need to be stopped. They have all my information which is really scary they freaked me out so bad, I can't wait until he calls back now because he is going to be hearing  an earful. I also asked where he works for and I couldn't really understand him except he said somewhere in Michigan? I'm just so thankful to have read these comments you have no idea. Thank you to everyone who posted on here to let me know this is a scam and not to give them any money. "Jack Dawson" even asked for my lawyer name and number. With his heavy accent you think he would come up with a name that wasn't american and from the titanic hahah

I recieved a call from this number, they also called my work and said they were the police and were trying to get me to pay a fine. I knew I was not in any trouble and this must be a scam. I ended up calling them all day long telling them they were trash and I was reporting them to the Texas General and I actually did. I also posted a male for male add on craigslist every day this week and told them to call me and left this number LOL! Be creative, there is a way to get revenge on these people. I still call them whenever I'm bored and just tell them I called to talk to the scammers. They always hang up but it is fun.

I just received a call and it came in on my phone as a "emergency call" which is the only reason I answered it. The man on the other end claimed to be with the " Florida State Police Department"  I proceeded to tell him there was no such agency which he then proceeded to argue with me regarding this fact. He gave me his "badge" number of 6162 and I asked his name which he was reluctant to give me but finally did and said his name was Luke Johnson of course this I know was completely false because his Indonesian accent was so strong that I almost couldn't understand him. He then told me I had a "case" against me and I needed to call Jason Washington at 410-415-3841....at this point I did google this numer and found this post. I called the number anyway just out of curiosity. Was put on hold for what seemed an eternity. When the man came back on the line I informed him that I was recording the call...he told me that I couldn't because it was a federal issue...I told him that in the state of Florida it is completely legal to record a conversation as long as you inform the other party it was being recorded. When the "Jason Washington" came on the line ( once again with such a strong Indonesian accent that I almost couldn't understand him) I again informed him that I was recording the conversation and he told me that I had a "federal financial claim" against me. I proceeded to tell him that I knew this whole thing was a scam that there was no such agency as the Florida State Police nor the Federal Financial Claims Agency (which is where he claimed to be calling regarding) and that I would be filing a claim with the FTC as well as contacting the local authorities. He then started yelling at me and cursing me. ... Guess he didn't like being called out on his Bull Sh**!!!!

I also got the call and they left a message claiming to be state police and said I had to turn myself in to local authorities or call them back.  Was told they were going to put out a warrant for my arrest if I didn't pay them money.  I was asking for info and they seemed to know enough that I was scared.  called out local police who said they have been receiving calls about this scam.  But how do we report, because the police told me that since they were probably outside the country there wasn't anything anyone could do.  Even though I have 2 voice mails where they claim to be police.  I was told they would quit calling if I told them I had been to the police but became even more threatening.  Am really worried because they have continued to call back.  the first 2 calls  came up as 911, but now they are using this number.  Thanks if someone can help me.

I got a call from a heavy indian accented male stating he was detective andrew johnson from the florida state police department. It was very hard to even understand him. He had harrassed the receptionist before even getting to me. Then he told me I had a case against me that I was going to be arrest for if I didnt call back a john williams at 4104153841. I told him I didnt know this person and there is nothing for me to be sued for so
I wanted proof, he told me oh I will have it the police are on their way to arrest me unless I called that number right now. I told him i thought it to be a scam and hung up. he then called my receptionist and told her I was a criminal and if she didnt let him talk to me right now he would arrest her to. She told him he had no cause to arrest her and hung up. he has been calling my call and work number non stop.

These people need to be locked up.

I received a phone call which popped up as 911 on my caller ID, so naturally I answered. On the other line was a woman with a very heavy accent who stated to me that she was calling from the Broward County Sherrifs Office and her name was "Officer Tammy Marshall". She state to me that a "Company" had filed a complaint on me for fraud and that I needed to contact "Officer Scott Black" from the Federal Crime Department at 410-415-3841 (which is a Maryland phone number by the way) When I asked her what company was filing the complaint she couldn't answer and told me to contact Officer Black. When I called the number he told me that I had three charges being filed from "Paydayadvance500.net" and I needed to pay him 462$ today or a warrant would be issued for my arrest and I would have to appear in court next Friday in Maryland! When I tried to get the contact info for the "Loan Company" so I could contact them, he stated that they didnt want to work with me, I then said, well then why are you trying to collect money from me! The call promptly ended! I also contacted Broward County Sherrifs office and no one by that name even works for them! IT'S A SCAM!! Contact the BBB and your local State Attorneys Office! IT'S RIDICULOUS!!
