This is a collection agency. The are real. If you money to a credit card they buy the debt, then try to work out a payment plan with you. Once set up and paid off, ou credit reports reflects paid account in settlement.
I guess thats better then being unpaid.

Just got a call on my cellphone, returned the call, a Mr. Price answered. I stated that I had just received a call from his number and wondered what it might pertain to. He hung up! I called back but get no answer, just "holding" music in a jazzy style.

Thks.
I found this post in google after being annoyed by this number. They left a partial computerized message saying, "this call is about an important business matter regarding the social security number of "xxxxx", which was my name. I tried to do a reverse search in the whitepages.com, nothing, unlisted #, odd if it's a legit busines. When I called all the guy said was this Q A R, I didn't know the name and so hung up. I will be blocking this # from my phone.

I found this post in google after being annoyed by this number in the past a few weeks. They left a partial computerized message saying, "this call is about an important business matter regarding the social security number of Chris Txx", and I do not know this name at all, then asked me to "press 9 to talk to a representative". I thought they might just recorded the wrong number or somebody else has used this number before, so I pressed 9 and wanted to talk to somebody and delete the record, but nobody answered. They called about twice a week.
I'll just block it by software.

did a follow up. the man who answered the phone did not give a name. he said the company is Q.A.R. he said if i was called it's because a civil suit is about to be filed against me. i told him i don't believe him. he said that the only way to get that information is to give him my phone number or social security number (cuz i give that out all the time) so that he can look up my case file. i said no thanks i'll wait for the suit. i've heard that if you contact a collections agency that you would be s**t outta luck when it comes to legal matters.
