I called Verizon and was told that this was opt-out marketing - that is, they call you until you ask them to stop.  Even though I'm on the National Do Not Call Registry?  Yes, because we can call you if you are our customer.

What good is marketing by hanging up without saying anything?  The machine dials five numbers at a time.  Whoever picks up gets the human, and the others get a hangup and are put on a list to be called back.

Why would you do this to your good customers?  We have been customers for 33 years.  "You're the first person who I have ever heard complain."  I suggested: you should try putting this number into google, and you will see plenty of people who are unhappy about this.  Her reply, after a pause... "I don't have access to google."  I laughed and laughed.

If you call the number and listen, there IS an option to get on the Verizon do not call list.  I don't know yet whether that will turn this off or not, but I tried.

Have gotten many calls from this number over the past month.  They call numerous times all during the day and never leave a message.  Last night they finally left a robo message saying they were from Verizon long distance and wanted to talk to me about my long distance account.  I have not called them back.

I too have been receiving at least two calls a day from this number.  It is a Verizon sales office.  ioff13 suggested that I contact the number and select option 3, I did not get a representative, but an automated message asking me to say "Yes" if I wanted to be included on the "do not call register".  I said yes, then the message told me it would take up to 30 days to take me off the list. Hopefully it will work.

This is AFNI, though caller ID says it is Verizon..  They are a notorious collection agency who now seem to be doing marketing for Verizon.  Whether FIOS or wireless, I don't know.  Got previous robo-calls from "AFNI for Verizon" on 888-483-4083.  saying they wanted to talk to me about my service.  I called Verizon -- customer service, fraud dept, and unlawful calls dept.  Nobody would confirm AFNI worked for Verizon.  (Unlawful calls dept. said to call my attorney general to report.)  After robo-calls I picked up 410-910-0605.  Woman said she wanted to talk to me about my Verizon bill and, yes, asked my permission to access my account.  I asked point blank whether she was a Verizon employee or worked for a third party agency.  ONLY then did she say she worked for AFNI.  I  said no permission, she said thank you, and hung up.

Do a web search on AFNI.  You will find they bought I pile of junk debt from Verizon and have been harassing people for years for non-existent debt (or debt way beyond statute of limitations.)  It looks like they are acting in a marketing function on these lines, not debt collection.  Still, Verizon deserves to be shot for letting third party marketers use sleazy, misleading call messages to sell their services.

Verizon sales call.  They call quite frequently, despite repeated requests to stop bothering us as we already have Verizon FIOS.  Since we are Verizon customes they can call all they want unfortunately.   Fortunately they don't call at night or on weekends and we've learned to recognize the number and ignore it.

I called the number on my caller ID and did indeed get connected to a Verizon sales office. I was able to speak to a rep who informed me that, though I may be on the government's Do Not Call registry, I am continuing to get Verizon solicitations because I am a Verizon customer. With my complaint about the call however, the representative took my name and number and assured me that I would "no longer be receiving any further marketing solicitations from Verizon or its affiliates." It is a pain, but if you maintain a little patience, you can get off this thing! Select Option 3 to get to a live rep who can assist you.

For the past 2 weeks I have been getting a call every day from 410-910-0605.  When I pick up they hang up.  The caller ID says "unknown".  The calls have been consistent at 8:30AM the first week and in the evening the second week. I called that number back and got a marketing ad for Verizon.  What a waste of time!!!

I got two calls (yesterday 009/08 and today 09/09) from 1 410 910 0605. When the phone is picked up nobody is there to answer.
