412-253-2145 has called here more than once, but does not respond to an ans machine . Since I have no idea of who this is, I generally do not pick up.  I also will 'pick up' and hang up if this continues, giving them the idea that the number is not working and is a waste of their time.  Seems like DNC lists don't apply here.  The 412 is def a Pittsburgh area code...I live four hours from PIT.  Tired of annoying calls.

Called here on both the 19h and again today.  ID said Local Call Area with this number.  No message left on the 19th and usually I don't never even bother to pickup on unknown numbers but today I just picked it up and hung up immediately.  Will not contribute to any telephone solicitors - regardless if they claim to be a charitable organization or not.

I searched Charity Navigator, but could not find any association of the phone number 412-253-2145 with Firefighters Charitable Foundation.  Could you tell us where you found the information?  If what you told us is true, Firefighters Charitable Foundation had entered a Consent Agreement with the Pennsylvania Department of State, Bureau of Charitable Organizations on July 13, 2011, settling a matter in which it admitted to violating one or more provisions of the Pennsylvania Solicitation of Funds for Charitable Purposes Act, 10 P. S. § 162.1 et seq ., and agreed to pay an appropriate administrative fine, according to the department's website on Charities > Enforcement and Disciplinary Actions page.

I got a call from this number at 8:15 am this morning.  I love "caller ID".  I didn't know the number so I let my machine answer it,..even after hearing my message, the guy still asked for the lady of the house...must have been a robo call. I didn't know who the call was from until I read the messages above.

After a spring break, the 'for profit' telemarketers begin the newest call blitz for the Firefighters Charitable Foundation, Police Chiefs of PA and others including, a new group, the 'Breast Cancer Warriors!!!'

There's great information listed above by others.  Please heed it.  Don't answer such calls and don't ever call back because you'll never get off the call lists.  Furthermore, you calling them back guarantees you'll never get them to abide by DO NOT CALL laws. (I speak from years of experience & have unlisted phone numbers...to no avail.)  Your donations to such organizations are also NOT tax deductible.    

In addition to Charity Navigator, the Better Business Bureau (bbb.org) also gives excellent evaluations of the usage of funds by organizations seeking charitable donations - usually by mail or TV advertisements - and also whether such deductions are tax deductible.

Grumpy - Great information. I also get call from the Police Chiefs of PA which I suspect is a similar organization. Fortunately I tell them I only donate to my local fire and police.

I did some research and would suggest that you all might go to a web site called Charity Navigator.
Firefighters Charitable Foundation (according to Charity Navigator) had an Income of $6,109,447.  Their Fundraising expenses totaled $5,326,352 and with other expenses added in, $0 went to affiliates.  There is also on record a settlement with PA Courts on July 13, 2011, where a fine of $1,000 was paid for the use of an unregistered solicitor (Menacola Marketing).  If you decide to speak with these people, you might want to ask about this info.

STOP CALLING ME!

Firefighters Association wanting donations.  Polite but pretty high pressure.  They only guarantee 11% of your donation goes to this organization.  I suppose it could be more but that doesn't sound very efficient.

Called but I did not answer.  They left no message.  No doubt a spanner call.

This might be American Home Shield but not sure. They don't leave messages. AHS has called from 2 other numbers and didn't leave a message either time
