Same here. Got a letter from them saying that a medical bill has not been paid and has been put up for collection.

Caller named Kathy claims I have an overdue elect. bill that has been put to collection, I cancelled that service when I moved at the end of October.

Got A very wierd call i picked up it said hello i said hello then it said goodbye and it hung up

Got a really strange call on my cell, wanted to know my name, refused to say, wanted my ssn, refused to say, said I owed huge money, and they wanted it immediately or else.  Wanted a credit card number to pay them.  I asked who they were and for a supervisor.  They hung up on me.

Does anyone know where this phone call originates? I mean actual street number, office number, any information?

Same Kathy called me and asked for all my personal info, which I refused to give.  They have called every day since.  The debt they are referring to doesn't even match the account number given by the hospital.  I call the hospital to find out the trail the debt took.  I tracked it to 2 different companies then the trail got cold, but no one at either company who held my debt ever heard of CBCS.  CBCS didn't even get the amount owed correct.  Beware of these crooks!

It's actually a legitimate collection agency and they are just doing their job.  I hate these as much as anyone else but when we owe someone money they come after it.  Wouldn't you?  You know if you owe someone.  I know I have an overdue debt but can't afford to pay it right now so I don't answer the phone.  They also use different account numbers than the orignal loan/debt/credit card too which does make sense to me.  And the amount they say you owe is more than likely going to be different than the amount you think you owe because anytime an account goes to collection there are fees added and sometimes that fee can be up and over 50% of what the original debt was for.  Just stating the obvious.  Just dont answer your phone or else pay your overdue bills.

I received the first of these calls today.  After searching the internet, several places online has said this company is a scam.  Do NOT give any personal information to them!  Ask them to send you a copy of the bill with all the information via USPS mail to verify the information.

If you have money to pay an overdue bill, call the originating company.  Do not pay bill collectors unless you are 100% sure they are legitimate and your payment will be reported to your credit.

With money so tight right now for everyone, these scammers are out in full force and will do anything to sneak money out of you.  It's worse than those funny emails from Nigeria, because you think you are doing right by paying an overdue bill, but in fact you are giving it away for free.

The person who used to have my phone number, I suspect is who they are trying to contact.  I used to get calls from collection companies for this person, Vincent.  But this caller does not even identify himself.  The phone rings, before I can say hello, they hang up.  They call back 10 minutes later.  This is very annoying, especially since I have never missed a credit card payment.  Is this a scam, or a real debt collector.

Dang, I paid a 300 something dollar medical bill that went unnoticed when I lived over seas. I paid it to CBCS Columbus, Oh. On my credit report 1 company has it paid, one has it have paid and one doesn't. I in dispute now. Hope I didn't git ripped!

I JUST CONTACTED THE POLICE & GAVE THEM THIS #...HOPE THEY DO SOMETHING...EVERY1 DO THE SAME...

These pricks have been calling my mother's house every day for the last few weeks, and she said they also left the "My name is John..." message that others have received, along with a number that was different than what showed up on the caller ID. It was the only time they left a message, and even when someone has answered the phone, the morons hung up when they heard "Hello?"

The solution is to ignore the calls and use the internet. Sometimes, having dial-up is a good thing. My mother knows who she owes money, and a Pittsburgh collection agency is not one of them. Someone who can't be bothered to speak directly to the person they're hassling or leave a full name the one time they do leave a message...well...that doesn't seem too trustworthy.

412-503-9230 constantly calls with a recorded message for "Kenneth Padrich" (spelling may not be correct).  Even when I report that this is the wrong number they continue calling.

THESE JERKS CALL EVERYDAY SEVERAL TIMES A DAY...SEVERAL SMART A***S CALL...JUST TELL THEM TO SHOVE IT...YOU CAN NOT EXPLAIN ANYTHING TO THEM...EVEN WRONG NUMBER...SO WHEN YOU SEE THE NUMBER . DO NOT ANSWER....F.T.

They have started calling me, as well.  8:30pm last night.  Automated voice message, but no details of what it is about.

Get hangups from this number when they reach my answering machine. I get my credit report frequently and have no strikes against me. If this is a collection agency I can't imagine owing anyone anything.

You want to hear something funny-these people told me they cant send bills to WV(where I live) they can only call for payments. Is that not some crap. I said well if you cant send me a bill cause I live in WV then I cant send you any money cause you live OUTSIDE of WV!!!

My father in-law received numerous messages and calls from these people......this is a SCAM.....do not do anything they tell you.  If they were a real collection agency  they would be willing to send you a copy of the bill for free.   I've dealt with real collection agencies before and have always received a copy of the bill from them.  DON"T BELIEVE THEM!!!!!!!!

I have received 4 calls so far asking for a person who was a friend of my son's and did live here 9 years ago for about 9 months.  I haven't heard from him since and have no idea where he may be now.  I get a recorded message saying is this John Doe.  If yes press one if no press 2.  I press 2.  Then it gives me three options Do I need more time to get John Doe to the phone, Is John Doe not at home, Do we have the wrong number for John Doe.  I press three.  I have done this 4 times and they keep on calling.  Is there any way to tell a real person (or a computer) they can't get John Doe on this number?

This is from a collection agency for a past due medical bill I had. I knew what is was and they were actually a second collection agency (cause I had not paid the first one). When I called back they had asked for the phone number they called and the last 4-digits of my ss number. When I gave them this information, they told me exactly what it was for. It is a legitimate debt of mine. I had to make payment arrangements as it was for several hundred dollars and they helped me with that too. I did not have the bad experience that others are reporting and it was legit. But know that I have made arrangements, as long as I keep to them, they will not call me again (I did ask this and they did confirm).

I've been getting calls for an unknown person.  I asked for a supervisor, after having enough of these calls for 2 months...I've had my number for nine years have repeatedly told them they have the wrong number.

I got a Roberta at 412-503-9231...give em a call...they have no problem hounding people...they should get back what they give out

I too got a call from this number. They were looking for my dead beat ex wife. I wish these people would get better intel. We have been devorsed for over 16 year!!!!!!!!! Why can they leave me alone??? I don't pay her bills. I don't have to either.

Called as above  I am attempting to collect a debt.  Any information obtained will be used for that purpose.  Call 412-503-9230.  But the phone number that was listed on my caller ID was different.  Called and asked who they were trying to reach thinking maybe my dil .....my husband dead SEVEN years!!!  Maybe it is a scam.  There have been no bills lately with his name on it.
