I just got a call which I will add to my block list.  I will now get no ring but will get a list of blocked calls on my phone.
I have the Panasonic cordless telephone  Model kx-tg6842b (2 handsets)
You can block 250 numbers plus kill the one ring that existed on earlier models that only allowed 30 blocked numbers.
The one handset model sells for $70 at Amazon.

Same as other posts.  Called and wanted to do my chimney.  Kept trying to get their foot in the door after I say no.  Lied about being "on my road next week cleaning my neighbor's chimney".  Reported the incident to police with phone number.

These idiots tried calling me again tonight at 8:31 pm.  As others have reported, they have no regard for the DNC list.  Apparently, they called twice, because my call blocker kicked them off the first time after one ring, but they called immediately and managed to get in two rings before the call blocker kicked in again.  They've called before and I told them I wasn't interested and I'm on the DNC list, so I plugged their number into my device.  Apparently, they're as stupid as they are unlawful.  The number comes back as D&D Masonry.  For the "fun" of it, I just lodged a complaint with the BBB because they're an "accredited" business with them.  (Accredited means they paid the BBB to be nice and gloss over any problems so they can get a higher rating.)

This co. called about 7:00 p.m. Did not recognize ph or name of co as shown on caller ID, so did not answer. No message was left.Good to learn what's going on with this co. and if number shows up again to ignor.

These are scammers who violate the telemarketing laws.
Don't give them your business.

Follow-up:  you can file a claim in small claims if they call you two or more times in one year, so record the dates of the calls too.  Refer to these regulations:  http://www.mass.gov/Eoca/docs//DoNotCall/201CMR12.pdf

Hi Folks, do what I did:  answer the call and get as much info. as possible so that you can identify the caller and the company.  Write down the info. and keep it.  When they call again (they will), do the same.  Then bring a claim in small claims court.  State law provides damages up to $5,000 (I got a judgment for $1,000).  Make sure you are on the do-not-call list, you can do that on line.  They will not stop calling until you make them pay.

We are on the do not call list.  This number has called our home an inordinate number of times.  Please address this issue since I have told them to take us off their calling list

I received a call from this number.  Shows as "D&D Masonary".  Said they were going to be in my neighborhood in the near future and did I want my chimney swept.  Oddly, I live almost two hours away from where this business is located (Chicopee MA).  They asked for me by name which made me apprehensive (which is how I ended up here).

called me.  I do not know who they are.

Got this call too -- they just hung up when my answering machine picked up.. I was suspicious because masonry is misspelled.  It read Masonary.

I was called by this "company" today  the number they called from was 413-593-1004..I reported them to the do not call list, which I am on.  They didnt have my last name correct and I told them I was going to report them.  I called the number back 15 minute later and the line is temoparily disconnected... interesting..
