Sounds like a scam to me.  If you don't owe any money, send the letter to the US Postal Inspector and keep a copy for yourself.  This looks like mail fraud. It is illegal to try to obtain money fraudulently by US Mails.  DO NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE!  Or any money.

Sparks, NV  89434
(800) 824-6191

Dept. #21377
PO Box 1259

They wrote and told me I owe money.  "This is to advise you that your delinquent account has been assigned to our office for collection by the above mentioned client."
"We would like to extend the following settlement offer:  A 70% discount payable in 5 payments of $63.99."
"We are not obligate to renew this offer."

Can someone please tell me if this is real or a scam?  I'm scared.

I received a call at 8:30 a.m. today and when I answered the recording yelled "This is David Weinberg, Process Server.  Please call regarding case #2014-----."   However, they did NOT leave a number and did NOT say who they were calling..  I called back because I have Caller ID and when I asked for Weinberg the man said, "I am his assistant and I can help you.  Do you have a case number?"  I  gave it to him and he then asked for my daughter - who has been harassed by debt collectors for years because of a false credit card charge in her name.  We have done everything to clear this up - even contacting the FTC and Better Business Bureau. I told him that I was fed up with these people calling me and the charming man told me to shut up!  I then called him an idiot and hung up on him.  I hate sinking to their level.....

I don't personally know the address of your HOMELAND SECURITIES DEPARTMENT, But I would forward this telephone harassment phone calls to them also.  Along with your local police departments in these two states.

Sometimes the award for a warranted criminal might be pennies in your pocketbook.  Nevertheless, in the event that this person, people, places or things, do not meet homeland securities requirements there could be serious charges for non-compliance, telephone harassment, extortion, etc.

Called my work number a second time and left no message.  If it's not important enough to leave a message, it is certainly not important enough to call in the first place.

This is a place of business that has been receiving phone calls since 1995 for a person that none of our emplyees have ever heard of.  I have repeatedly held on the phone to speak with the operator and inform them that they have the wrong number and to take our number off of the call list.  It is now August 2011 and my office is still receiving calls for this individual.  While expressing to "Suzanne" that she has the wrong number she hung up on me.  How do I get ahold of someone with authority and professionalism that can get my company removed from this call list?  This is the most unprofessional operation I have ever come in contact with and I would like the annoying phone calls that have now become harrassing to stop.

This Collection Agency has more different telephone numbers than all of the stars in the Universe.

Everytime they call, it's a different "City and State" on the caller id.

They have been calling since October of last year, and so far I have counted 44 different telephone numbers from them.

They're after my son who happens to have the same first, middle and last name.

My son ran up huge credit card debt on many different credit card accounts prior to joining the Air Force in July of last year, so Mom and Dad (ages 65 & 67 & retired fixed income) are having to deal with HIS credit card and girl friend problems.

I'll have my day in court and let the Judge know that I'm NOT person responsible for the debt.  My son is.

That way, FNCB will have to start the (suing) process all over again (perhaps) when my son is scheduled to be discharged in July 2014.

By then, I probably won't be living at this same address.

As they say in Russia, "tough s***-ski"
