Actually just called the number back, the guy said his name was Mike Leary with IRS investigation department.  First thing he asked with his thick Indian accent was if I understood the English language,  lol. I told him that I did. He then asked for my husband by name.  I told him this wasn't his number.  So he asked for my husband's number.  When I told him I wouldn't give it to him,  sounding flustered,  he said ok and then hung up.

Personally,  I can't believe they are still using the same number to perpetrate this scam. I just got a call from this number but it was a recording,  saying I needed to call back ASAP or the IRS would be at my door.  Immediately Googled the number because I know our taxes are paid.

Caller claimed to be IRS and would take legal action if I didn't come up with some money. I called back and  told him he called a gov phone and he hung up. I called him back and told him we were going to find him and he said good luck , that he was in India, then started yelling profanities. I hung up. The knuckle head left a message to begin with saying he was Heather Gray. Evidently he does not know Heather is a girls name.

It's funny how these IRS scammers initially tell you that either you or your "attorney of record" need to call them immediately, but when you call their bluff and tell them you will be contacting your attorney, they know their scam is over and they start cursing at you.

I received a call saying they were from the IRS and I owed 7 years of back taxes and that I had 30 minutes to pay them or I would be going to jail. He said they would seize all of my assets. I told him I was calling my attorney because I had not been notified of this in writing and he proceeded to curse at me.This is a scam.

Love what you're doing! I also like to waste the time of losers like these. Less people they can call and bother. Thanks for your time and creativity! Well, time to call them again! I'll block my number this time so they don't hang up so quickly.

Prank Call
So, they are getting better at overcoming prevuois issues that "gave away the scam" like not leaving messages and accents too thick to be understood. They left me a message using a computerized voice saying "this message is for you or your legal representation. Call the IRS immediately at 415... regarding the legal allegations against you." When I called back they siad I owed income tax for the last 7 years. I asked for which year and he only stumbled a little bit before deciding it was for 2004, 2006 and 2010. He also said they would seize my bank account in addition to wages, assets, driver's license and passport. I had to ask him the amount which was around $4500 and then I had to ask hin what I should do. He asked again if I had an attorney and I said no again. Did I need one? He said I should get one and then he asked me what I wanted to do about it? I asked what my options were and he said I would face "arrestment" in 2 hours in the city where I was or what do you want to do? I asked again what my options were... mostly because I like to waste these people's time, and mess with them a little bit. He ended up hanging up on me. :( But they did call again :) just about 20 mins later. When they realized they had already talked to me they hung up. I tried to call back 8 more times but they won' take my call! I'll try again later! Let's see how they like it!!!

Got a call from 415-251-1037, didn't answer, but they left message; Please return call immediately before any legal aligations can be taken." Don't know what they are talking about it. Didn't call them back either.  But now I see it is probably some kind of scam.

I called back and asked for Ramesh - I said I had the package he oredered and needed his address. Was put on hold so I hung up. I will continue to call this number and leave confusing messages. I am bored and figure that I soak up their bandwith they will not be able to make threatening calls to others.

Sometimes when I call the number I say that I am recording the call for "future legal use" - they tend to hang up pretty quick.

Got a message almost identical to the above.  It did shake me up, although we don't owe anything.  Luckily, I plugged in the number and came up with this site.
Thank you so much

Just got voicemail from this number, sounded like a badly recorded message of a woman giving her name as "Officer Heather Grey of the Internal Revenue Service."  Gave the telephone number and urged me not to disregard this message and to "call the hotline before [they] take legal action against [me]"

I was told I had 30-40 mins to go to Homedepot and put the money on a Re-Load It card and call them with the card serial # or I was going  to be arrrested! After  not complying they kept calling back to tell me my arrest warrant was being processed.

Call from Officer Heather Grey on a Saturday afternoon claiming to be from the IRS.  I will not call back. I believe this is a scam.   "The issue at hand is extremely time sensitive. My name is officer Heather Grey from Internal Revenue Service. The hotline to my division is 4152511037. I repeat it's 4152511037. Don't disregard this message and do return the call before we take any legal allegation against you. Goodbye and take care."

Received a call on my cell saying to call Officer Mark Ray with IRS investigations & that it was urgent to return the call because it was a time sensitive matter. I called back & they asked for a case # - none had been provided, so he said he had my phone #, but then asked my name. I suggested he should have that connected w/my phone # & he hung up on me. I called back to ask why he hung up & he said he needed the info to help me & I was being uncooperative. I explained he called my cell & I couldn't hear well, which is why I was asking him to repeat himself & if it was the IRS, why wouldn't they call my home #? He gave an explanation that convinced me to give my name & I should call an attorney right away, but then asked for my home address "to confirm he had the right person with my name". I started questioning giving him that info over the phone, said I'd be happy to confirm what he had on file. He said "you're doing it again" & hung up on me a second time. Came straight to the computer - glad I found this!
