This was very helpful. My son was awakened the past two nights at 3:25am. I went to the site's opt-out page and added his number to their do not call list.

Called at 1:00 am. I will try to opt out of their service as suggested. The people who subscribe to or prank from this service need to GET A LIFE!

The phone number 415-325-4768 does indeed belong to WakerUpper.
I have used the WakerUpper.com website/service and it can be quite useful, both as a wake up service and as a service to see "Is my phone working?".
The service can also be abused by those making prank calls. This is easily fixed by follow the instructions below.
If you get a call from 415-325-4768 that you did not schedule (ask for) then:
- surf to wakerupper.com/opt_out
- enter your phone number
- click on the "Add number to do-not-call list" button
You will not get any more calls from WakerUpper. The prankster will have to find some other way to bother you.

Yes! Let's disable *67 because businesses and government organizations without expensive PBXs never legitimately use it. Just harassment-loving people.
Yes! Let's disable email because no one uses that legitimately. Just spammers.
rustupid?

Do some research and visit their FAQ.
rustupid?
Lulz 2011-11-01 10:59:35 Unknown
Do some research and you'll see that it's not a telemarketer (which is all the DNCL will protect you from.)
rustupid?

Maybe he should be complaining then, not you.

If you would like to investigate it, you're a bunch of incompetent bafoons, providing commentary of your intent to investigate on a website set up for judging the effectiveness of telecommunications harassment devices.
Would you like to provide commentary on the campus drug dealers whom you would also like to investigate? If so, please post said information to the website NORML or something similarly idiotic, prior to actually investigating.
Thanks, pigs!

Was called at 4am by this number...looked it up on google because I had no idea of why I was getting a random call at 4am from a number that was so bizarre. I live in Ohio so when I saw it was a California area code...I knew something was up. I never even heard about this waker upper or whatever it is called. Came to this site and was the first time I even heard about such a thing. I did sign up for the opt out list which I hope helps. If it doesn't, are there any further measures I need to take?
uma 2011-06-06 20:48:35 Unknown
do did this???
TuxRug 2011-06-06 20:48:35 Unknown
It's a free wake-up call service. If you are getting unwanted calls from this number, just call back and it will present an option to place your number on a do not call list. Someone could have gone on the website and requested a call to your number saying anything (either computerized, or their own voice).

I just got a phone call at 11:00 tonight from this number saying I was with someone who might have gave me HIV. Are you f***ing kidding me? A joke is a joke but this is way over the top! It's not funny at all and when the authorities get involved then my Husband and I WILL get PAID!!!! So here's to you you sick a** people who did this to me and my family.... The joke WILL be on you! I woke up to my alarm at 6:30 to find a message from Waker Upper that was left at 3:45. Not only did I not request this service, I have never heard of it before.Maybe a friend put my number in as a joke, but I doubt it. I haven't yet called back to stop the service, but I'd say watch out for this company.
angela llewellyn 2011-06-06 20:48:35 Unknown
I know I did not request this service. I am not sure what kind of sophomoric behavior would lead someone to believe having a 03:30 wake up call was funny.
jim bob 2011-06-06 20:48:35 Unknown

rock 2011-05-05 22:54:21 Unknown
Yes- it's true. if you got a wakeup call from this site and you didn't schedule it, someone did for you. Take heed, there's more coming.
rock 2011-05-05 22:52:34 Unknown
This is a wakeup call website. I found it and pranked a friend who's been signing me up to receive spam.

called twice today... when I answered it said I could press 3 if I did not request this call... supposidly that's supposed to stop it.
Found this on the companies website: http://wakerupper.com/faq#faq_1.7.
1.7. How do you stop prank calls?
"Wakerupper users are initially given the benefit of the doubt in that they are allowed to schedule calls to any number - as with regular fixed and mobile telephone services. However, unlike a regular telephone, if the recipient of a Wakerupper call indicates that they want to block further calls, the user who scheduled the call(s) is locked out of the system, and all calls scheduled by that user are cancelled. So, while Wakerupper is initially permissive, it takes a zero-tolerance approach to abuse of the service. "
I guess I'll have to answer and press three a few times to lock out all the pranksters?
