Today (22NOV2013), a man called my personal cell phone number supposedly from 280-214-4803 ( I know it's not a real number), and asked for me by name. I said, "yes, speaking", and he identified himself as calling from the "Auto Finanace Network". He spoke in broken english (seemed like an Indian accent), so I asked him twice to repeat his company name. He said he was he was following up on a recent application by me for an auto loan ("your application has been approved"). When I informed him strongly that I had not applied for a car loan, he immediately hung up. All I know for sure is that he has my cell number and name, but I am concerned that he or someone else has falsely applied for a loan under my information, or could cause significant harm to my credit rating or worse.
Yes, they spoof a number, so your called ID says it is something different than it actually is. The really disconcerting fact is that they have at least some of your information - how much more do they have? ...and how much harm can they cause on their own?

I freaking hate these middle east b*****ds! what is happening is, they can put a number in their system so when they call us is shows some number which is really not a number at all. So u can't call it back or it says its disconnected. Its them trying to get our ss#. Do not be this dumb, please do not give them anything but a hard time! u will regret it!! they call me from 8am til 9pm all day, everyday! i have a baby, as well as other children in school, so this is very frustrating, & theres no stopping it. This is what i tried yesterday,  donotcall.gov and did a block to all of my phone numbers. This will take 31 days to come in affect. It SHOULD stop it and prevent your number from getting out to others. Guess we'll see. Its worth a shot vs changing my number and them getting that one too. How does this s*** happen anyway? I'm gonna f**k with them every time they call my number just like they do me! If he told me to put his thing in my mouth and suck it id tell him to pull it out of his bosses a** and stick it in his mouth because he's the c**ksucker to have a job like this!  I'm sick of it! FED UP FED UP FED UP!!! Been happening for months! U can also contact ur phone provider and block up to a certain amount of numbers. Mine will block 5, I'm with verizon. They call me from so many diff numbers i didn't event try. Just waiting my 31 days out and I'm gonna talk s*** to these inconsiderate f***s every time they call me until then!! Then I'm filing a complaint and go from there. Hope this helps u guys out some. Its not just happening to u! I'm just worried ab identity theft. I'm wondering whats next.  Sorry ab the language u can't help but lose ur religion with crap like this going on from sun up til bedtime! I will post if the calls stop... that will mean they finally got my ss# somewhere or the block worked. So at that point i will check for identity theft. Good luck to u all.

Got multiple calls from this number, answered it the 5th time.  It was someone form 'auto finance network'.  I asked how they got my number, they wouldnt say, just kept asking 'are you looking for a car loan or not'. I replied 'That is none of your business, how did you get my number'?  Went round in circles and asked for their company number.  Agent  provided 415 358 0679

Tried to call it back using *67 but it doesnt connect.  Suspect if i dial without it, it will connect ...

keeps calling, calls start at 730 am. calls over 6 times a day....then when asked to stop calling they told me that they were the fbi and that to stick their penis in my mouth and suck on it. used lots of profanity!!

No message, called 3 times so far today starting at 8:15 AM (EST).  When I pick up, it hangs up after a few seconds.

For last several days, my wife has been getting NUMEROUS calls from some foreign guy (sounds asian), about her supposedly applying for an auto loan. She is Australian, here as a resident as my wife...and therefor has no license, and no interest in one. She has told them to stop calling her several times. Tonight I got on the phone, and when I told them to remove our number, this guys starts cussing me out, and tells ME to stop bothering THEM.

This guy first called me on 4217818274 and later on 2337816739 ad the first one talked about school ad then later on auto finance.let us beware and be on the look out for scam.

No message left calling began @ 8:00a.m. EST.

Called 6 times in the last two days, go get'em!

The little a** identified himself as Michael. I told him I am going to bust his sorry little indian a**. he said you cant and I said watch me. working on it right now.

Received a call from this number this morning. Seeing as I deal with many people out side of my state wasn't sure if this was a call I needed to take. So, after having missed it, I called the number back. Got lady with HEAVY east indian accent and loud music in background  who I could not understand at first. I asked her to explain again. She said that I won a car in a sweepstakes. I told her no , seeing as I do not drive. She immediately hung up. Very annoying. I had a call from a different number a week ago regarding a loan. Annoying. Wish they would stop. Also, never will I fill out any "fishy" looking on line forms. I believe my number was taken from an online form for information on an educational program for an online college.

this jerk keeps calling my phone with a different number after i politely asked him to take me off the calling list. and he called with this number saying "no never, no never!"

Received a call from this number stating that I was approved for an auto loan.  I did buy a car last week but went straight through my credit union.  I couldn't understand him when he said the name of the company but when I said I didn't need an auto loan, he hung up on me.

OMG these calls will not stop!!!!

I have been getting calls asking for "Darryl" 2-3 times per day on my work cell--always from someone with a foreign accent who is difficult to understand and always from a different number. Today, I asked who they represented and they said the "Heart and Lung Network" and that my application had been approved but they needed more information. I hit "redial" everytime and ask to speak to a supervisor. I have spoken to 3 supervisors and asked to have my number removed. I was first told it would take 24 hours. After receiveing 2 calls 48 hours later, I complained again and that supervisor said it takes 72 hours. Today, I kept calling him back to ask for a supervisor and he would just hang up on me.

Received a nasty call from this number, put the foreigner on speaker so my boyfriend could hear... and the foreigner said f*ck off, I will f*ck your wife and rambled on nasty foul language!!!  This needs to stop!! I cant even believe this happened!!  Please help us stop this!

I keep hearing from this company too. It is a scam. They say they are an auto loan company and ask for your social sec. no. and lots of other information. I believe they get numbers from the internet or some other shady marketing method. I have had similar calls from "John Smith" with a very strong Indian accent claiming I owe them money for a pay day loan which I have never had. They are definately NOT legit.

I get up to 5 calls a day from this number. When asked to be removed from call list, I get laughed at, cursed at and hung up on and STILL recieve calls.

they have been calling me 2 times an hr for 5 hrs.

this is a scam.  same foreign males with backround music.  when these calls continued, I asked for a company name.  this man said auto loans network, a loan application website.  the website denies any affilliation to telemarketing calls.  When I asked for a case number, the man hung up instantly.  it is very important to ask for case numbers when you get a suspicious telemarketing call.  if they avoid the question in any way or refuse to give you one, that is a clear sign that they are not a legitimate telemarketing company, as every single sales rep has a case number.

The guy swore on the phone and got realy irate called me a stupid american!

When I received a call from this number I told them they had the wrong number and a man with an accent said "F**k You" when I said excuse me he then said all kinds a pornographic disgusting things like telling me he was there to stick is ::blank:: in my ::blank:: He said he was the p**sy f*cker calling for me.

Two calls this morning. I called this number back and got the same auto loan nonsense.

6 phone calls in the last 30 minutes!! 415-358-0679, 233-781-6739 and 421-781-8274 I have them on bmy blocked list. 233 area code comes up ghana - ??????
