Just received a call from the same number, and the male on the other line also indicated that he represented CALPAL.    I advised him that, in the past, I have been advised to never respond to a police organization-related financial solicitation over the phone.   He claimed that he understood that; but his organization was a not-for-profit representing the Police Athletic League; thus these calls were legitimate.    Needless to say, no financial transaction was made over the phone.

I got a call from the same number and a male answered.  Gave me the speil about collecting for "one legged police officers association" or something.  I told him that I was an ex-cop and that real departments never call people on the phone asking for money.  He said "Sorry" and hung up.  No more calls.  Don't be fooled by people saying they are asking money for some police or fire department.  The agencies just don't do it.

I asked him what agency he was with and he said he could not tell me. I asked him if he was a sales rep of any kind and he said I have no idea what a sales rep is, but he did knew 2 + 2 = 4.

I hope this guy gets terminated.

They called 7 times in the past week at various hours of the day or evening as shown on my caller   ID. They leave no message. I am on the Government no call list. How can I get it to stop?

My wife is not a native English speaker and when these people have spoken on the phone they are very pushy asking for money.

Most of the time, however, the phone line clicks off, as if to indicate that they are just randomly testing times to see when they might be able to get a woman on the phone. I have noticed that when I answer they usually hang up.

Very annoyed, asked to be put on the do not call list, and just about ready to see what legal options we have as the 4 to 5 calls we get on a daily basis are just about the only real calls we get on the land line.

They keep calling after we've asked them to stop and remove our name from all their calling lists. They hang up on us after we've answered. It's been going on for over two years now. YEARS.

This guy called, demanded the owner, when I asked who was calling he said Partick L... when I asked him to hold he hung up.

California pal gets zero stars at www.charitynavigator.com  Very little of the money they collect goes to actual programs.  In the past they have used a method of auto-dialing and hanging up.  They figured out that most people have caller ID and they hope you will call them back and donate.
Don't give to them, just not enough money goes to helpful programs

I confirm this is the CA or SF Police Activity league.  I get a call once or twice daily.  The app that I now use is a free call blocking app for my Android.  You can block up to 10 numbers.  They do go straight to VM.  These guys have a knack for calling right at dinner and they call EVERY SINGLE DAY for the past 4-6 months.  EVERY SINGLE DAY.

Have received an average of 6 calls per day for weeks; the few times I have answered no one is there.  My number is registered with the do not call list but they frankly don't care.  I have left multiple messages directly with the California Police Activities League stating we do not donate over the phone under any circumstances nor donate through any solicitation service whatsoever.  If we were to donate we would do so by check by mail but we are not donating to your organization and do not wish to be contacted.  Frankly, they ignore our request and at this point not only would I not support their organization I suggest to others not to respond to the telemarketer calls from them.
How very sad, they might be a worthy group but their behavior  . . .

Got a call from them today at 11:51.  Took saying hello twice before they spoke to my daughter.  The guy asked for "the owner" (hubby owns a small lawn business) to which daughter answered, "they aren't home".  She said the guy hung up.  Will not call them to find out what they want.

Googling produced 800-622-5725 which was answered by a very nice person who put me on the do-not-call list when I explained I get frequent calls that I answer and get empty space.

We get frequent calls at our office from this number, which in a fit of pique, I returned today.  A recorded message states it is the California Police Activities League in San Francisco, soliciting donations, which is difficult to understand since they call but don't speak live or recorded.  This number refers callers to a staffed number 800-710-4149 for information; that number was not staffed and allows recipients of these annoying robocalls to be put on a do-not-call list only if calling from the line being harassed, if it's residential, if it displays caller id.  Otherwise, the "staffed" line advises to call back when you meet requirements.  This is not the way to develop goodwill that results in donations.

I also got a call from this number- I dialed it and got the sf polic dept recording saying they were calling to ask for support...I do support them, but they could scare old people by keeping up the phone calls.
