Same thing has been happening to me since getting a payday loan that is not yet due.  This joker has been calling my job 3-4 times a day back to back.  However, when I attempt to call back no one picks up and there is no voicemail. SCAM!!!

my husband just got this same call from a man claiming to be attorney Alex Cooper, he was calling from 916-259-9381. my husband first got a disturbing voicemail message from a Hindu sounding woman named "Lisa White" (like that's her real name). She said that they needed my husband to call them immediately to discuss a legal matter. My husband called and another Hindu man named "Alex Cooper" said that he was with the State Attorneys office for the state of California and that  my husband was being sued for fraud for taking out a payday loan. He went on to say that the police were going to come to his place of work and arrest him. We did in fact get a pay day loan from a company, however the due date to pay it back isn't for another 3 weeks from now. Between me and my husband calling this "company" trying to get answers, we called them 4 times with us being hung up on by this "Alex Cooper" guy. We went online and looked him up and saw that all of these other people are getting the same kind of calls from all kinds of different numbers. We decided to call this guy one more time. He answered and then proceeded to call my husband a "mother f***er" and a "f****ng loser" and that we can not be calling his number all the time. This is obviously some kind of a scam and I do believe it is a federal crime to impersonate an attorney. I say everyone should call all these different numbers and give this guy a taste of his own medicine.

I have been getting a call from this guy that have a heavy Indian something accent. He said he is an attorney from John E. Best law firm in Sacramento CA. I supposedly did not pay a payday loan for the amount of 300 and they filled a federal case on me and if I don't settle it for the amount of 447.21 that I have to go to Albertson and get a bill pay, I will be serve a warrant in my job and I will be in jail. He does have my ss number and my address and the rest of my information. I am very worried. I went to check the BBB and there is no listing for his so called firm

This indian sounding person said his name was Daniela Martin from John a best law firm
Was trying to have me call him back about important legal matter, if I didn't call him back, the police
Would be at my work or home to arrest me.
When I called the number he left on my message and he answered, I asked what was I calling
And he said state attorneys office, but the giveaway that he was a liar
Was at the end of telling me I must call him back or serious consequences, was that he said "god bless you"
There's a lot of this happening I called the federal trade commission , and they said a lot of people are getting scammed , they tell you to clear the matter up
Just purchase a green dot money card and give them the number on back, then it's all forgiven!!!

The number he called from is 916-287-3538 AND I looked it up in reverse phone book and it is a cell phone out of sacremento, ca. Some indian speaking guy. Very threatening. I asked him for some form of verification or proff of this crime i supposedly commited, he said are you kidding? I am at the point where I am sending a sheriff out to your work or home and I have been emailing you countless times and you have ran away? I again asked him for proff and have gotten hung up on.

I just received a phone call from adam spencer from phone number 760-684-8037.  the caller stated i owed a payday loan and if i did not give them 575.00 in one hour the sherrif would come and arrest me.  I told them to send them.  They get information off the internet and use it to try and get our money.  I guess the best thing we can do is not put any information on the internet.

SAME THING IS HAPPENING TO ME SAYING I COMMITED CHECK FRAUD AND CALLING MY JOB.. YOU CANT EVEN UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY ARE SAYING. I DONT EVEN HAVE ANY LOANS SO I KNOW IT HAD TO BE FAKE BUT THE DEF SHOULDNT BE TRYING TO USE LEGAL JUMBO AND SAY SOMEONE IS GOING TO COME GET YOU AT YOUR JOB. THEY TOLD ME IF I DONT PAY I WILL HAVE TO SERVE 90 DAYS IN JAIL, IM LIKE I DONT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT SO THEY WERE SUPPOSE TO TRANSFER ME TO A SUPERVISOR WHICH NEVER HAPPENED THE CALL GOT DISCOED, AND YET ANOTHER CALL TODAY TRANSFERED TO ME AT WORK HOPEFULLY SOMETHING HAPPENS TO THESE JERKS

I just recieved a phone call at work from this person and creeped me out. asking for money, new my identity everything.

Hi I have been getting calls from this sam scott and he has  even called my job and i would like this to stop. I found this to be bocus and he is harassing me at my job and on my phone. what can be done.

Thanks for telling me. I stupidly did apply for a loan on the internet and loan places   kept taking money out of my checking account for fees for a loan I never got. Had to close down the account. These people called me at 8 a.m., a lady started talking & I said it's 8 in the morning & I'm trying to sleep. They waited 5 minutes before calling me back. So I picked up the phone & then immediately hung up. They called right back 3 more times & I did the same thing. It's been a few hours & no more calls. I'm sure they aren't finished w/me but they will get tired of being hung up on until I find a way to really block them.

I have the same propblem as all previous posts before me.

They called me and said that I have a lawsuit against me, they called my cell phone and my job. They must have gotten my number from when I was getting information on payday loans. These people are truly pest. You could hardly understand him because his English was pure garbage!

I just got a call from 415-376-9750 at my work.  I had a hard time understanding him because of his accent and the connection wasn't very good, but he kept saying there is a lawsuit against my SSN and I had to appear in court tomorrow.  I don't even think he had my last four digits correct.  I told him that I believe this is a scam but if this was true, to please send me a certified letter and then hung up on him.  What is wrong with these people!!

They call me stating they are from cooper law firm and I am being sued and have pending criminal charges against me. I knew from the start it was a scam.

whenever you put your info on the intertnet people can get your information. it's called phishing. do not pay them any mind just tell them you are rercording the conversation and if they keep calling you will sue them.

Got the same - called back the number - 415-376-9750 and they guys answers Legislative Dept.  I said OH, Someone from this # said they were from Johnny Bass Law Firm - he says - Oh, uh, yes, yes this is Johnny Bass Law Firm.  I hung up - the call back it shows on my caller ID 911!  LOL

Same story here, they called for a person called Maxine.  When asked, the person stated that they operated under name of Law Office of Attorney Alex Cooper.  Person stated I was being sued, sending officer with papers...blah blah blah.  Called back number, runaround, blah blah blah.  These guys just keep calling and calling even when told not to call my number anymore.

i CONTACTED THE ATTORNEIS AND ONE IS A MEDICAL MAL-PRACTICE ATTONEY AND THE OTHER IS A PERSONAL INJURY ATTORNEY.

Same thing - I just got a call from this number AT WORK stating I have several lawsuits against my name and SSN however the caller would not give me any other information.  Said I needed to talk to Adam Spencer who's the attorney handling my case and gave me the phone # - which was the same # he was calling from 415-376-9750.  When I acknowledged that it was the same number and asked Mr Spencer be put on the phone, the guy ( Daniel Clarck) handed me off to his supervisor (Steven Brown) who got irritated with me demanding to speak with Mr Spencer and he eventually hung up.

This has happened in the past and what I did to prove it was a hoax weas I called back & made up a name - when and individual came on the phone and claimed to be said person, I explained how I was returning a call but MADE UP the name and find it hard to believe a person with this name just happened to work there then when I voiced how I researched this number and sai dit was a hoax & fraud, they started talking sexual !  

these people need to be stopped...it's ridiculous.

Threatening phone calls to me saying they are gonna call the sheriffs to my job for a payday loan I never accepted

I got a disturbing message this morning at home saying that I would be arrested and they would send the sheriff  to my job and my home to arrest me over some kind of money I stole from their client. I did say  that I am going through bankruptcy and that I do not work for the company that they say I do, which the man from India did not want to hear.

I had the same thing happen to me today. A Indian sounding guy named Alex Cooper and said I was gonna be arrested by the sheriffs office at work or home. I'm called SAPD Bexar county sheriff's office and district attorneys office. Anything was filed apparently bit it still bugs me...415 376 9750. Is the number and now they don't answer . Don't know what to do but I'm letting the FTC ,BBB , consumer protection know.

I have been getting calls over the last couple of daysfrom Attorney Adam Spencer from the law office of Johnny Best, who by the way sounds like he is from the Middle East somewhere and has a really white name, but any way he called my place of employment two days ago and would not go into my voicemail, harassed the front desk into taking a message and stated to them that it was in regards to an important legal matter that I must return his call immediately.  So I did, he claimed that I have three criminal charges pending against me and that officers would be at my place of employment by 4pm to arrest me for international bank fraud. I had already had a bad day so tollerated him calling me a liar and he stated I owed a payday loan in the amount of 534.00 that I do not owe and stated such.  He stated all of my personal information back to me and asked me to verify it, became argumentive when I refused to confirm my information and asked me if I had a good attorney because I was going to need one.  They called again today from a different number 3265191732 left a message very ergent call back so I did at the original number because the 326 number was not accepting calls, he transfered me to another attorney who stated that unless I pay the $534 officers will be at my employment today. I said fine and hung up.  So my next call was to the attorney general of my state who told me that I was the fifth call today in a row about this and that there was nothing they could do because I didn't know the address of the place and most likely that even though I have been able to return calls to this number would not be able to for much longer and that it was mostly a disposible cell phone.  I went ahead and filed a written complaint anyway.  By the way when I returned to call this morning, the person who answered to phone referred to Attorney Adam Spencer as paralegal Adam Spencer, so who is committing fraud? Not me.

There is no "office". This is a criminal extortion ring operating out of India. ABC News released an investigative report on it in June. The FTC has indicted one of its ringleaders for criminal fraud:

In the meantime, you are going to have to do whatever you can to protect yourself. That includes letting them know they are running a scam and are reporting them to the authorities.

I got a very disturbing message at work saying that if I did not call back that I would be arrested and they would come to my job.  I am very upset about the message left at my job.......I would ask that a assist and decease letter be sent to this office

I had the sI talked to Came thing happen to ,e they called my job yesterday and today I called them back yesterday I talked to a guy name Sam he said that he was from the Law office of John A. Best and I owed them 300.00 they put me on hold for a long time, so Today they called my job harrasing the person I worked with so I called them back and spoke with Sam again amd he starting telling me that I was a f****ng lier, he called me a two dollar w***e, he than went on to say that he looked my name on the internet  and I was a "White W***e with my big a** and my big chest sale my a** of 30, 40 50 dollars and they going to send the police to my job to arrest me" I also asked them what company that they work for they did not tell me. Later I called them back and acted like I wanted to pay them so I spoke with John he told me to go to Walmart or Walgreen's and by a prepaid Money Pack Card and put 300.00 $ and call them and they'll give me a conformation number I did not senf then any money this is a scam they got our information from a fake online payday loan site Please don't believe them,

I just had the same thing that everyone else had 2 hours ago. The one thing that I caught was this idiot said I owed 2-3 thousand dollars then said I owed 1000 thousand dollars. So he couldn't ever tell me exactly
what I supposedly owed. When I told him I wanted to see paperwork on this so called charge he wouldnt give it to me. This is a scam and everyone needs to watch out for these guys!!!
