This guy called my last week, said it was a "Personal matter."
I called him back a few times, no answers. Until he picks up, he said can't remember why I called you, and hang up.
I called again and ask who he is, he was VERY RUDE.

He is a debt collector, I called him back and he was polite, he explained what the bill was about etc and I handled it. He clearly stated that he was from provider recovery group in SF, I don't see why everyone here is freaking out.

Personal info has been stolen by this guy... he said he was calling from SF General hospital and I have a physician medical bill and he is calling to collect. I am gonna report this number to the SF Police.

As in all the previous post I encountered the same thing, guy calls and harasses you. This type of harassment is not legal they aren't a real collection agency, they have gotten information and are attempting to take money. Every time they call they attempt to get more personal information. Do not give these people any info whatsoever. In the unlikely event they are a credit collection agency they are interpreting the law in any way they see fit to collect debts. In fact there harassments and Im not referring to calling over and over I'm referring to them yelling crazy stuff at you. I attempted to speak with a supervisor called 43 times only for the to just pick up the phone and hang it up. I will be inviting you to file a claim through the better business bureau on this phone number which is in fact a wireless phone number. I will be looking more into this number through friends who work in the police department. They have used the name of the offices of Jim Duncan on previous occasions. Please be vigilant and file claimed through your local pd, you wireless carrier, and the better business bureau. In the unlikely event they are a credit agency they need to be stopped there methods are not okay.

I wouldn't assume it's "a-holes" that he's calling all day. I've worked around credit management people, ordinary employees, sometimes, who get to demonstrate their mean spiritedness. One I met at a oioneer furniture rental place in the sixties seemed to enjoy thinking about being "Credit Mangler." Also, I had Kaiser Hell Plan, for a while, and the S.F. Kaiser rep seemed to think I had bucks (maybe I should dress poor) and laid a hospital debt on me that the city now wants. Be careful how you sling "a-hole" around. It's the corporados which are the a-holes, Big Time.

Got a call from this number Recently.He left a message that was barely understandable, using my name like he knew me, but talking really fast. I played it back for my roommate, she said she thought it was Jim Duncan. I googled this number and thanx to the posters above realized it was a debt collector. Reading the previous posts I realized this was a guy I had talked to about settling my medical debt last year. After being very aggressive and trying to make me feel like a bad person for not paying my medical debt ( I was hit on my motorcycle by someone that didn't have enough insurance) I offered a reasonable settlement, he laughed in my face and hung up on me.

Jim Duncan called my personal cell phone and asked for my mother. I asked who was calling and the reason for the call, and instead of telling me he just kept demanding that I put my mother on the phone. I kept asking him where he was calling from and the reason and he refused to answer and started to get a bit of an attitude. I asked if he was calling from her hospital since I've been on the phone with them for a few days now, and he just avoided the question. He continued to insist I take a message, but would only give me his name and number and to have her call me back. It wasn't until I told him that I need know what company or doctor's office he's from that he rudely yelled, "Just have her call me." and quickly hung up.

NO WAY! My mother doesn't speak English very well and has major health issues, so the last thing I would ever do is have her deal with this a-hole!!!! I quickly called my mom and told her to ignore all calls from this j*** off. I've dealt with a debt collector in the past when I was unemployed in 2008 and they were NOTHING like this guy (that is if he even is a debt collector)!!

He Called me today from 415-695-8357,  Jim Duncan is a name everybody in that collections office use.  Debt is bought for pennies on the dollars and they try to collect out side the statue of limitation.  Just tell them to p****off.   Its a chop shop.  

DO NOT PAY HIM.  REPORT HIM TO THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISION and you can file a complaint with the Attorney General's Public Inquiry Unit.  Report the company to the BBB.

My phone rings I answer and a mans voice says " my I speak to (full name)" when i say " this is.. My I ask who's calling" he says Jim Duncon than asks if he can speak to me, again using full name. "this is...May I ask what this is regarding?" He says " I need to identify you"  i say " okay, but can u tell me what this is regarding" He gets all huffy puffy says he can't understand me and hangs up. I have delt with debt collectors and have never had a conversation remotely close! If u have tried paying an outstanding bill to this man, I strongly suggest you cancel your credit card!! I have no outstanding bills and I don't think u can legally say that you called a phone number and positively identified the voice on the other end. I have a Verizon phone but with metro people use fake names all the time. Those of u seeking legal action should all team up and get this dude off the phones.

I got a phone call from this rude guy to my sister house asking for me with my complete name and when my sister asked him to wait he hang up and he called two times and the same history.  When I call to find out he ask me who you want to talk to? And I told him that I was returning the phone call and then he hang up twice.

He is the a*hole.  If he's legit, there's no need for subterfuge.

Got a call from this Jim Duncan on my mobile number, but the guy asked for my husband.
- What is this regarding please?
- Personal call.

I pass the phone to my husband and he introduced himself as Jim Duncan, that he represented San Francisco General, and that we owed them $500+, so my husband said "OK! Pay it!" and he hung up.

Since we actually owe something to SFGH, I couldn't leave it alone and called back on the caller ID number. The same rude voice answered (no company name, nothing)
-Somebody just called [I named my husband's name].
-Do you know who it was?
- I don't recall the name.

This is when he hung up and all follow up phone calls got the busy signal. But the amount was odd and I know for sure that the advocate working on my outstanding bills made sure that SF General wasn't passing the account to the collection agency.... Very strange!

Forgot to mention he rudely hung up on me.

My Girlfriend of three years has some debt problems that were fraudulant, but unresolved. this Jim Duncan asked for her by name and said SHE gave him my number, completely untrue. Anyways, called back requesting to not call my number as it is my personal cell and he will never reach her there. If this persists I will seek action. Or quite easily download a call blocker app for my smart phone.

First time, and better be the last.

Guy calls- is extremely aggressive and rude.    Has my personal information, but keeps asking me for additional information.    I ask him why he doesn't talk to my insurance company.    he says i am the debtor.    I ask him to identify himself (which he hadn't done at any point in the 5 minutes phonecall) he says he is Jim Duncan.    I tell him it is completely unprofessional to speak to people this way and that he better contact my attorney.    He hangs up on me.    I guess SF physicians group must have leaked some of our personal information out.    Fraud on top of injury- just what I need!

I got a phone call from this guy. He asked for some person, who doesn't live here, I asked him who is calling, he said its a personal call.

Called this afternoon, I just open and close the phone.  Also set a ring tone to make me aware that it is this fool calling.

This guy keeps calling. He will not tell me who he works for.  He will not tell me who referred this account.  He wants me to pay him $700.  No way.  Who is this guy.  He is required by law to provide me with all this information.

I returned a missed call on my phone, the guy WOULD NOT tell me who he was, just said well who are you calling.  I said I didn't know, his response was well who left you the message.  At the time I didn't know I had a message.  When I checked my voice mail it was a call from Jim Duncan.  Who the hell is this person?  The number he was calling from is 415.695.8357, but the return number he provided on my voice message is 415.695.8356.  Not calling back, that's for sure!

I just got a call from Jim Duncan for my minor daughter and he would not tell me what it was about. He was very rude! He said the call is none of my business. I told him my daughter is a minor and I would not let her speak to him unless he told me what it was regarding. I called the number back and he answered but when I asked why he was calling my daughter he said I will just have to "not know." and hung up. My daughter does not know who he is.

Just got a call from Jim Duncan.  Asks for a family member by their first name.  Refuses to state purpose of call.  Initially refuses to reveal his name.  Incredibly rude.  Knew relationship of family member to me.  Asks me to take message.  Never heard of him.  Family member he called for had never heard of him.  Struck me as the predatory type.

I am reporting "Jim Duncan" to the state communications board and also to my attorney.  Mr. Duncan was incredible rude when I called back to see what his call was about.  He used profanity and said "you know exactly what this call is about."  I'm also considering turning this phone number over to the police.

Do not call this guy back!  He somehow had my Social Security number!
