few hours back i recd a call from 5432165606534 the ring was going on as soon as i picked the call it was disconnected.I really do not understand why some ISD callers do such a stupid work ,they should be punished because i was in hospital in ICU to answer this ISD number i was asked to come out from ICU  the patient is my close relative ,after disconnecting I was not allowed inside such a horrible number.

ICT Group is a boiler room telemarketing agency that sell scams from the USA using call centers worldwide because it's too expensive to pay north americans to flog crap over a phone.

If you are on the DNC list it does not matter anymore.  Your government does not care a wit about what you want.

Dear MCL Financial Services,

I have had my phone number for almost 2 years and you are still looking for the past owner of my new telephone number.  I have phoned and spoke with a rude representative of your company and she told me they would remove my number.  

Unfortunately, I am still receiving calls from MCL Financial services.  The calls now come through as unknown caller and name on my call display.  

I owe nobody anything and I am truly getting pissed off receiving these annoying messages.  Get your sh*t together and remove my number from your directory

Said he was calling from Markham, on behalf of Visa/Mastercard, for a company called Liberty International Financial.  I couldn't understand much at all.  He said something about calling about my existing Visa/Mastercard account, but he asked for me, not my husband, who has our only credit cards.

Thanks to everyone who posted things on this site.  It was very helpful.  I just received a call (21 Oct 10) from this number tonight at 840 pm and when I picked up they hung up.  When I called them back the recording was very muffled and I thought they said they were Lugarto Financial.  The number they called me from is 888-778-1127.

Yea I received a phone call today with basically the same thing as everyone else.  I never let him get far cause I ask him where I had my visa card with and he said  (with a question in his voice ) Toronto Dominion ???  I started to laugh and he said oh I am sorry *with an east indian accent* maybe I am sorry it is the Royal Bank I see now  Well I could hardly contain myself at this point and told him "good fishing expedition but sorry there are no suckers here lol

Someone calledfrom this number and no one replied.  It just hung up

My husband received a call from a gentleman with a very thick accent who was very determined to speak to me and not him.  When I answered he asked me if I paid interest on my credit cards, as soon as he asked that I told him I wasn't interested and he tried telling me he was trying to help me. I didn't give him enough time to say anything else, I hung up on him.

Wow!  I got a call on February 6, 2010 by a very heavy accented guy and I told him I was busy, so he gave me the name of the company and the phone number: Liberty International Financial, 905 595 4511.  Needless to say, I am on the don't call list in Canada.

Thank you for all the people who take the time to write about these scam artists.  The bells went off the instant I got the first call from a chinese man that says " Hi carrie, It's Larry and I want to give you 3.9% on your existing credit cards."

Then when he asked for the numbers on the back...like dahhh.  

I asked how I was approved and he said because of my credit rating.  Well, I told him to call me back and then called my friend who is a mortgage broker.  Found out that first...it is illegal for anyone to look into your credit without your consent and second - notify the RCMP.

So I am going to right now as I can see how some people could very well think this is legit.

It was a man who had a heavy accent, sounded indian with a last name of Matthew???? boy was that a warning signal, while I was on the phone I did a search and thank god for people like you who save the rest of us who have at least the wits to verify who these people are.

Don't get all in a tissy...just ignore it. If you ignore it, they will stop calling. The kinder you are, while still refusing their services, the more irratated they will become and make sure never to call you again.

bell was right canadian telemarketing firms call US customers as a way to go around the Do not call list there. There are tons of call centres in the mississuaga area, (think of the large demographic there),accents galore. best thing to do is not answer the phone or if you are home sick turn the ringer off so you can rest

bell doesn't control the 'do not call list" you need to make a formal complaint with the government branch that does control it.

There is no need for a whistle as that is assault, just don't answer the phone if you don't want to talk to them. If you answer they will call again, because someone has picked up the phone, if you don't answer you get off their list, or simply say "take me off your list". I get calls too, and I don't answer so they only call once, I never have had the same call twice. Think about it, it's an awful job but people need jobs to survive. blowing a whistle in their ear won't stop them from calling.

I played along for a while. I should have record it. I told the guy. That had very high rates. He seemed exited about it. Ask to speak to manager after i was done wasting his time. I got the manager Indian who told me his name was Larry Fry. Yea ok. You can't call them back from what i am getting. I would like to waste there time. With my own calling. Anyone got there number. The 905 does't work. 3 call scaming me today. 416 005 4321.929 200 9110. and 904 863 0208. So much for staying home and getting some rest from work. I got more annoyed begin at home that would have at work. I am sick with fever 101. and i have to hear these scamers wast my time. Do not call list does not seem to be working well.

Phoned Bell Canada, he explained it is a US Credit Card Company making the calls to increase business by using their card.  This is how they are not affected by the Do Not Call List. The call originates in the states.  He said these calls started up about a week ago to get you to sign and get a card from this company.

His best advice is if you don't recognize the number don't answer the call.  usually the number ends is sequence (i.e 4321, 1234, etc.)
