I ordered the complete collection of Barney Miller, received from China, 1st 4 disc wouldn't play. Emailed TVDVDStore.net, [Planetdvd, tvdvdmania, etc.] no response. I also have Bonanza and Hawaii five-o on the way, but after reading all the complaints, I'm not holding my breathe.
I've done some research on DVDnet.net and this is what I came up with. Hopefully this will be usefull for others:

I was taken too. I ordered the complete gunsmoke collection and have had nothing but problems with the people from this company. They have been telling me for months that they were going to refund my $150.00 bucks and nothing. No dvd's, no money. Please if you read this, BEWARE of companies selling all of the tv shows. Almost all of them are fake and come from china.

Thanks for your information.  I have also been scammed by Classic TV Media - ordered May 8th defective DVD's they sent me another same deal.  Many, many e-mails later said you would relfund $85 but it has never arrived.  I only one I did not file with is the Motion Picture, I will try that also.  And I am still e-mailing then every day - I will try your repeated and see what happens.

Thanks again,

My girlfriend was able to get a phone number for them.  It's 250-275-5030.  The person's name is Brenda, and she works in the accounting department.  I'm currently trying to get our money back as per the complaints on this page.  Thankfully we use a separate banking account for online transactions, it keeps losses from potential scams to a minimum.  I hope that this phone number for tvdvdplanet or dvdplanet or whatever they are calling themselves this week helps all of you. They are frauds and I hope all of you can get this situation resolved.

Yep, I was scammed too! When I initally made the order my bank actually blocked the charge. "Greg" from this company called from (289.428.1081) and asked me to call my bank to have them unblock the charge that he said... "sometimes banks block international transactions you  have to have your back unblock it so we can process your order." So, stupid me....I call my bank and have them take the block off so it could be charged still totally oblivious to what was happening.  Sure enough...we received bootlegged version of these DVD Series.  I happened to write down the number that "Greg" called from the first time and I decided to call him back so I could get my refund.  Greg said to call 778.282.0899.  Sure enough...I called and it didn't work. Bogus number.  I called Greg back at 289.428.1081 this time he didn't answer and screened my call. I've since called my bank to have them refund the money. It will take 45 days to go through if these scammers don't come back and dispute it.

I, too was scammed. Ordered Death Valley Days 556 episoded on 46 DVD's.
Got 46 DVD's containing 126 Unique episodes, 39 duplicate episodes, and 5 Triplicate episodes, most of which were unwatchable, the rest were mostly poor quality, with a handfull that were just acceptable. Since they are what is called free domain, I expected the quality to suffer, but NOT to the extent that I received. Free domaine applies to movies, T.V. shows, etc. that are not broadcast or re-released after a seven year period. Which explains why Disney re-releases most of it's movies every seven years. Some examples of free domain movies are "Griffin and Phoenix, A Love Story" from 1976. T.V. shows from the 50's, 60's and even some from the 80's are free domain. Periodicly, An old T.V. series will be released, such as Get Smart, which was released on DVD by Time-Life who probably bought the rights to them.

In the case of a series such as Wagon Train, the MPAA wouldn't be able to do a thing, because it's Free Domain. However, the FBI, States AG, BBB, and police would, if they gan bet away from their local doughnut shop.

I have had  the misfourtune of dealing with this supposed company.Like everyone else I have no luck contacting them but by e-mail. They will not answer it or the 778-282-8099 phone number. Ithink they operate under numerous title,s that are tacked on amazon&e-bay web sites. I don,t see how they can get away with it as long as they have. I could say a lot more but I was warned about my language.

Call your credit card company right away. I believe that you've been scammed, just as I was.  You may get your dvds, but I can almost guarantee you that they will be bootlegged, which is illegal, and they will be of poor quality. When you look back at the website, from which you ordered, you probably won't see anything that promises that these are authorized copies of the dvds. Buyer beware applies to me, for sure, and probably to you, as well. Lesson learned!

I fell for the TVDVDBOXSETS.com website scam, too. The products appear to be authorized versions. I reallly didn't do enough "Buyer beware" research and ordered a tv show series. The products came, well after the time frame. I had already gotten suspicious and sent emails which were never answered. On the web site's FAQs, whoever these people are say that if you don't get an email response within 24 hours, it's b/c their email has gotten "stuck" in the sender's spam/bulk folder. Not even! I contacted my credit card company and the acct is now closed to prevent fraudulent use by these scam artists. The proudct finally arrived and it was a bootlegged version, not even good quality, obviously copied. Boy did I feel stupid! I've given the credit card company any and all info that will help them track these people down and, I hope, shut them down. I asked the credit card fraud dept rep for advice and was told to always try to check out the vendor, if possible. Make sure you can actually figure out who they are and how to contact other than a phony email set up.

like you i did not read befor I ordered the DVDs. My package arrived today from China. unfourtunatly i was not home and my daughter signed for the package.  I know that i didnt order anything from China, but opened the box anyway.  The DVD's were for the show Spencer for Hire.  The quality of the show looked as if someone copied the show off of a VHS tape to a DVD. i was so angry considering I ordered the videos on April 3, and i have been e-mailing these frauds since then. My bind is that i used my DEBIT card and it takes a lot to get the money back.  I will contact the MPAA, Amazon.com as they were the link to this fraud and bootleg company.

Wish me luck.

I attempted to file with BBB in both Mainland British Columbia and with Victoria -Vancouver Island.  I could not file my complaint as it came back as no business found with search criteria.  I have filed already with
1) Federal Trade Commission (FTC); 2)  The Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) and 3)  Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA)- this last web site is hard to find, but is:  http://www.mpaa.org/piracy.asp

Planet DVD Store is connected with this outfit too.  They charged me on my bank statement as Family DVD Store also.  File complaints with following:

1) with The Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) - they work with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), with The National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C) and with the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA);  This web site is easy to find;

2)  with The Federal Trade Commission (FTC).   This web site is easy to find.

3)  with the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA).  This web site is hard to find.   Go to:   http://www.mpaa.org/piracy.asp

Have all your information in front of you;  web site address;  exact name of company, any contact person's name, address, all email addresses you have, costs you paid, date of your purchase;  be sure you know how you made your payment and have any other information you have collected ready.

Hope this helps.   Then send Planet DVD Store or Family DVD Store repeated emails.  My wife taught me this trick and got their attention.  Send them emails one after the other.   They will eventually reject your server.  Then go to their web site and you don't even have to sign in to contact them by email.  You have to irritate them by making them work for a living reading your emails.  This eventually gets you a refund.  Finally they will see you are too much trouble and refund.

Hope this helps.  I live in very rural South Georgia.  Nothing but farming.  And shopping on internet is a necessity.   Still, this is the worst scam I have encountered.  - Johnny

Unfortunately, I failed to look at all these complaints and I ended up in the same spot as everyone else. I've tried calling, not an answer and email and all they sent back was that my order has been processed. So, I am disputing the charges on my card and having them send a new one and immediately cancel the current one. I have reported them to this website:

ic3.gove/default.aspx, I have also sent an email to the scam alert office at my local news station to warn people, and im going to contact amazon. I hate these people. I wish i would have never heard of planetdvd and any of their other names.

I did not receive a call but this number is associated with a purchase I made online using my credit card. I ordered two sets of DVDs from ClassicTVMedia.com. I ordered them and within hours I had a feeling I'd made a big mistake because something just didn't feel right (especially that the only contact with them is via an email form on their site, no 800 number and no address listed), so I went to the web site and used the "contact us" email to cancel my order even though I hadn't received an official confirmation as yet. (Confirmation emails from legit companies usually show up almost immediately.) That evening, my credit card company called to report an odd inquiry on my credit card from St Barts. ??? At that point I couldn't do anything because it was just an inquiry, not a charge. A few days later I received the confirmation email. I responded that I wished to cancel my order and DO NOT SHIP the merchandise. I received an email 3 days later saying that they would cancel my order and issue a credit to my card. Lo and behold 2 days later I get a notice on my door that USPS had parcels for me. My husband picked them up and noted they were from China! They remain unopened. I sent an email to "Shane" asking where they want them returned though I will not send them to China.
I did visit my financial institution and found that my account has been credited. Whew! After reading all of this, we will be canceling our credit card account and opening a new one.

Bonnie,
This is an email Randy just sent me. I already received a credit to my account from Visa and Randy is acting like he doesn't know anything about this fraud. I sent them an email stating fraud and magically two months after I cancelled my order they mailed the DVD's to my home from China. I refused delivery. Seems Randy is trying to appear to be honest. I am not buying it.

Hi Brent,

Thanks for your e-mail.

However, we are not sure what you are referring to, below?

We note that you have refused the package that we have sent to you - as such, it does appear that you would like to cancel your order.

Please do note that there is certainly no need to report fraud - please simply confirm the last 4 digits of your credit card used to place the order with us, and we will issue a full refund for your purchase price to you.

Best regards,

Randy

Called the number too!  Very cranky guy on the other end.  Ordered the Carol Burnette and Friends but I put the wrong address down so the item got returned.  I was sending it to my daughters house as a birthday surprise for my wife and got the numbers mixed up.  Emailed the company like 10 times and finally got an email from Jake Lionels @ Customer support and he said it would cost me an additional $18.00 to re-ship my order.  I agreed since it was my fault of the wrong address, but nothing has shown up.  My credit card got charged the $18 bucks 2 months ago for the shipping, but still no product.  After reading all the complaints, I don't want the product.
