They presented me with levy papers from nevada and I never lived in nevada ever . I am a resident of Arizona they took me to court without my knowledge 700 miles away . I have been trying to call them but no answer at 702-228-1846 or the 1-800-# . They threatened me with wage garnishment if I did not give them my checking account number so they can take 500.00 out directly . So I compllied and they have been taking the money out for going on 2 years ,I have asked for receipts or statements regarding this debt but have received nothing . I just need someone to check on this for me I am desperatly worried that these people are not legit and that they have been taking my money for not the right reason .

I just recieved a call from these people, they sounded familiar , i googled them & realized this is same co. that cald my cell for my daughter who owed Credit Card.  I asked what they were calling about they sed cud not tel me, personal, i told them if dont tel me then i wud not giv her the msg. They kept calling til they told me it was a debt colection, i asked if i cud make arngmnts to pay her debt. they wanted all payment, i told them i wud not anser my phne anymore & wud tel my daughter not to pay it at all ever.  Credit Card companys are as much to blame for this bad economy as the Banks are.  THEY DONT DESERVE ANY PAYMENTS FROM ANYONE. Greedy, I offered to make pymnts for my daughters accnt. to help her out but they did not want the amount I offered, so now they get nothing. They said they had my addrss, I asked why they had not mailed anything for my daughter, they said they didnt have to.  I told them that sounds ilegal to me, told them to send her what they need in writing because I would not give her any messages at all because i would not want her to pay them. When i call them back they anser Law Office?? most attrnys anser with their name, what ar they hiding?? Now ther calling for my son, must be a Credit Card. I will not give him the message either , the guy told me he had our address, I TOLD HIM TO SEND SOMETHING IN WRITING. WHO IN THER RIGHT MIND GIVES OUT PERSONAL INFO OVER THE PHONE, how do yu no who they are? I aked them to fax me something with ther letter head so i know who they wer, at the time I was at work to recieve it at work for my daughter but they faxed a generic letter without a letter head, was not gonna fax them anything with my info.Thers not much they can do. Does anyone really know anyone whos had ther wages garnished by a Credit Card Co.???

UPDATE! That debt collection office is out of business. Cambece got pissed off and shut down the operation. Looks like the rats will have to desert the ship! HA! HA! HA!

I do not answer fone calls from unidentified/unknown numbers, period!!  In my opinion, when a caller hides their fone numer/name, they have something to hide, are taking a survery or are selling something.  And, if that's the case, I'm not interested.  Until recently, I didn't even have a fone number to find any info about who was wasting their time/money.  These people don't even know how to leave a proper fone message.  When my machine takes the call, it's a recorded message left on my machine.  There is no identification as to who they are, whom they are trying to contact, what they want, why they are calling, or anything else, therefore the call is not/will not be returned.   Callers who are so stupid & rude don't deserve a call-back, ever.  Harassment in "any" form is against the law in any state, not to mention there are also federal laws these people are stepping on.  I do not/will not play their games ... my money, my fone, my rules!!

Just got a phone message today from "Erica" at the law offices of Stephen Kopolow. Said she had an important legal matter to discuss with someone with a different first name, but same last name as me. She gave the callback number as 866-933-7089. Caller ID said she was calling from 702-228-1486, which is a Las Vegas number. I live in northern Nevada. Seems kinda fishy. I'm thinking of calling her back on my cell phone just to see what she has to say, but afraid they'll put that number in their call bank. I think probably the best thing to do is ignore the call.  If it's important, I would imagine I'd get some type of certified letter or something. But, if it's addressed to the other name, I guess I would not be able to sign for it, they'd give up and look for some other poor sucker to send them money.

I am not totally sure it was Kopolow, it could have been Northland Group hired by Capital One, I do owe them, and they are trying to collect, the only thing is I have nothing for them to collect, everything I own would be exempt if I filed for bankruptcy, I do not have a job or income, nor a running car now, because I cannot afford to fix it, so they can keep calling, they won't get s*** though, because I have nothing.

I got a call from 702-228-1486 and they answered "Law Offices"  Note: They never said which law office I was calling.  Then the man who answered the phone asked for my phone number and I said "I don;t give out personal information." Then he hung up in my face.

So far, they haven't called back.  When they do, they will get an ear full.

most of these "junk debt" collectors bought you old debt for 10 cents on the dollar.  THEY ARE JUST TRYING TO MAKE MONEY!!! too bad they are all a**holes doing it...

The statute of limitations is probably over on all of the debt they are "attempting to collect"  Do be overzealous and pay them!

i gotta call from a law office in las vegas. I thought who cares cause I'm in California. Well when i continue to not deal with them they forwarded my file to another firm in California where I was served and sued. Apparently this law office is a part of a network that can sue you anywhere. i guess i should have just worked it out with them. the suit is now public record and my employer can see it if they wanted. i work for a bank so not paying my bills is not a good thing

Well, they are sadly mitaken if they think they're getting a dime of my money.  In this economy, I have to prioritize my bills.  And guess who's nowhere on the list.  LMAO

They just bought a bad debt.  And they can wait for another 6 years, behind the creditiors for the two houses that I have which are totaling over $600,000 under water.  Oh yeah, I would take a hawian vacation before I pay them.  My credit is already screwed, so I'll just wait till it rolls of my credit.  I repeat...I'll never pay it!!!
