call came in this morning as 'confidential'. Asked for one of the owners. So not getting through.

We are being harassed by unknown numbers every day.
Today it was from 416.292.4625.  I asked the name of the guy calling "Frank" he said.  Asked what he was
calling about and he hesitated and said "I am calling from Hydro?" Obviously another scam.
Very poor command of English - sounded insecure and nervous.
I asked him to please never call our number again.  Beware of this number.

This  call came from Hydro Power Savers, claiming to have their Headquarters in Ontario. Very bad line cutting in and out.. I asked if they had any thint to do with my power company BC Hydro. The heavily accented voice said no, so I declined to talk further and also complained that it was not yet 8 am! They did not seem to be aware of where thay were calling and why this was a problem.

I got call from this number and ask me who is calling about the hydro.  He mentioned my family name and asking me if im the one responsible for the hydro. I told him "no". He asked me to passed me to pass to the person responsible. I told him I hope you dont mind if you are from hydro you have to have the name of the person responsible for it. And he spells out my family name and its wrong. When I confronted the person and I told him I think he is not from hydro, he hang up the phone.

The call sounded unprofessional.
I told the caller that I have no Hydro links or business with Ontario.
He informed me that my bill will be reduced 40% per month.
I told hold him who are you again , and said "are you deaf "?
He had an accent like some one from Pakistan or that part of the world.
If this is an employee from Hydro whichever province it is , I'm sure they would fire the looser.

got the same call this morning claiming the gadget will guarantee 30% saving of power. The supervisor said they could not take the time to send me written documentation of the deal. I tried the web and it says 'powersavers' is having issues. Thanks to this post I won't waste a lot more time on researching this right now. I would like to know where to see the police scam info though. Stop these rip off artists!!

I just got the same call today. They asked me by name and interestingly enough, I don't even have a hydro bill in my name but claimed and argued that they had all of my billing info.

I received a call from this number claiming to be Hydro Power Canada under sponsorship of the Canadian Government.  It is a scam involving selling of a device called "power saver".  Google and you will find enough RCMP and provincial governments warning against this scam.  The website given was www.planetpowersaver.com  

They claim you can save power bill by using their widget.  False claim!  Those who have tested will show a drop in current ... but no difference on power consumption (wattage).  

I advised the telemarketer to quit the job and to find something better.  She did not appear to know that it is a scam.  She appeared appreciative of my advise.

Something about reducing my hydro rates. Just another scam.
